Question Point Formula

Has anyone ever tried to figure out how to convert food into points using the nutrition label? I found a formula at www.lasternet.com but couldn't really figure it out.

Default

The formula is very simple and there are a few variations out there but this is the patented one:

([calories/50] + [fat grams/12] - [fiber grams<capped at 4 grams for Winning Points>/5] = points)

For example take something that is 200 cal/12 fat grams/5 fiber grams and do this

200 / 50 = 4

12 / 12 = 1

4 / 5 = .8

4+1-.8 = 4.2 or 4 points
