Sunny, I must tell you that I didn't prepare the ahi at all; a friend of ours caught it, cleaned it, filleted it (hmmmm, does that word have 2 "l's?"), seasoned it and then smoked it in his backyard smoker! You know, I would imagine that you would be able to use a cooked tuna steak (or salmon or some such chunk of fish) -- just put it in the oven for awhile and then chill it to use for a cooling pasta dinner. The one I made for dinner tonight came out just great, just a splash of olive oil (I used only 1 teaspoon on my salad) and several shakes of the seasoned rice vinegar was perfect on it.
