Default Breakfast Ideas!!!!!?????????? :)

I'd love if you guys could give me some ideas for a quick point friendly Breakfast!

It's only been a week and already I seem to be falling into the breakfast rut!

I'll start off by saying that I was never big on breakfast to begin with. I'm sure this contributed to my weight because I'd be starving by lunch time and overeat!

In anycase my breakfasts are pretty predictable.. Actually they take on one of two combinations.

#1
2 slices WW toast
1 tsp margarine
1 orange
1 glass of skim milk
1 cup of instant decaf coffee with half packet of twin

#2
1 large poached egg
1 medium tomato sliced
1 slice WW toast
0.5 tsp of margarine.

can anyone let me know what they are eating so that I can mix it up a little???

You can eat oatmeal (quick oats or regular, but not the packets) for only 2 points for 1 cup cooked (1/2 cup not cooked).

You can hard-boil eggs and keep those in the fridge for a quick breakfast at 2 points each.

English muffins are only 2 points each.

You can have some yogurt (2 points usually for a light or fat free version) with 1/4 - 1/2 cup of Fiber One cereal mixed in (0 points if you are using that little of the cereal) or you can mix in granola but that is higher in points.

How about smoothies? 1 cup of skim milk, a little ice, and a cup of fresh berries for only 3 points. You can always skip the ice and use frozen berries, same amount of points.

Default my favorite breakfasts

I do the core plan, so points aren't my strong point, but maybe this will help anyway!
I really like plain cheerios with fresh fruit (strawberries & blueberries in season now!), a packet of splenda sprinkled on top and skim milk.

Other days I'll have a small banana (organic ones are much tastier and smaller) with a little bit of peanut butter smeared on one side, and a glass of skim milk.

I find that juices are too many points for me to justify and they're not core, so I don't buy them. Fresh fruit packs more punch!

I mix cinnamon, molly mcbutter, vanilla extract and splenda in with my oatmeal for a sweet snack or breakfast.

I also keep frozen shredded (or hash brown) potatoes in the freezer for a quick breakfast scramble of whatever I'm in the mood for or have on hand: eggs, f.f. cheese, onion, scallion, ham, canadian bacon, veggies, etc.!

You can also use muffin and cake mixes and make cupcakes. Use a can of diet soda in place of all the egs, oil, and whatever else the box calls for and keep those in the freezer. Just pop one in the microwave for a nice quick thing and spread a little f.f. cool whip on top!

Hope this helps!
Enjoy.

#1 (2-4points)
Thomas multigrain light english muffin (1 point)
egg (either a whole egg or egg whites (1-2 points depending on which i choose)
Then I usually add some sriracha (chili) sauce or i cant believe it's not butter spray
If i need to get my healthy oils in, i'll scrambled the eggs in it (1 point)

#2 protien shake (3 points)
1 cup frozen strawberries or mixed berries (1point)
2 scoops vanilla whey protien (2 points)

#3 wrap (3 points)
La tortilla low carb wrap (1 point)
laughing cow light spread on the wrap (1 point)

I dont know what you all usually do but if i am in a hurry, i eat

1-kraft bagelfuls. these are 4 points and come in cinnimon, regular and chive. they have cream cheese inside of them and keep you full forever.
or i do this

2-slices of Butterball turkey bacon (2 Points)
1/2 Cup of Cheese and Chive Egg Beaters (2 Points)
1-weight watcher Roll (2 Points)
and if i wake up in the morning and i am really hungry i will have a weight watchers Yogurt with that and it is (1 Point)

MissJenny - whatever else you may have, you might want to include protein. I find that if I have protein for breakfast, I last through the morning to lunch time w/o getting hungry.

I have to try to keep my breakfasts at or under 6 pts... mine usually consist of some combinations of the following:

* Yogurt (usually a Yoplait light variety)
* breakfast cereal bar (love the generic brand from Walmart - its not as sweet as the name brand ones)
* Piece of fruit - banana or apple
* Oatmeal

Occassionally I'll have an egg and slice of toast, but the cook at our grill at work grosses me out. Unless I'm just really craving an egg, I have something from the above list. (The man likes to whistle and make shh-ing noises while he cooks; my imagination sees thousands of little particles of spit landing in my food! YEECH! If I had to rely on him for all my food, I'd probably be super skinny already! )

I already posted my "usuals" here, but thought I'd share...
I am LOVING strawberry season!!!
It's such a treat to have a HUGE bowl of cut up fresh strawberries and blueberries with splenda and f.f. cool whip!
It's like heaven...

bananas & cheerios with skim milk are pretty good these days, too.

Thomas' has 100 calorie English Muffins or 100 calorie Bagels. Make a Bagel or Muffin sandwich...

1/4 cup Egg Beaters or 1 egg, beaten
2/3 slice 2% American Cheese
Turkey Sausage or Hillshire Farms Deli Select Ham or Canadian Bacon or some Bacon

heat meat top and melt cheese in the meantime cook egg and fold into an appropiate size for your bread. toast bread. assemble

I eat a peanut butter and jelly sandwich on lite bread with no sugar preserves for breakfast often. Really fills me up.

My other favorite is my own version of Egg McMuffin:
Use lite bun (I can't find the Pepperridge Farm Hot and Crusty multi grain rolls anymore but they were great for this at 1 pt)
Poached egg (I do in microwave) = 2 pts
Low Fat pepperoni slices - 1 pt
1/2 lite cheese slice = 1 pt
5 pts total
Mustard

I make Maypo muffins sometimes, the recipe's on the side of the box very easy, I think it works out to 3 pts. a muffin, you can cut out the nuts or reduce if you want to reduce the pts.

I eat 2 pack2 of raisin, date walnut instant oatmeal, 5 pts.

raisin bran with 1 %milk

on the weekends I have eggs

I love breakfast, especially when I get to eat it in my pajamas, instead of at work at my desk
