Hi everyone:

Had my w/i last night & was actually down .6# - I was hoping for a maintain, with my overeating & exercising so I was happy with that.

After ww mtg went swimming and got in 14 laps so that felt good.

Goal this week is to get in 3 swims, stay OP and save some flex points for Sun/Mon since I will be staying overnight at casino & going to see Trisha Yearwood. So I know I will be having some drinks, etc.

Good luck, Judy with your weigh in! I am sending you "skinny vibes" :-)

Talk soon.

Ugh, Turtles, what I wouldn't give just to be healthy!!

I got sick several weeks ago, really sick, and hung on to the cough from that for a couple of weeks. Then I had my throat issue last week...then two days ago I ate something bad and was smacked down by food poisoning! Grrrrrrr! (I wish we had a 'vengeful fist' icon!)

Anyway. I haven't recorded for a couple of days, but I'm back to it today. I'm going out in a couple of minutes for my walk (the weather feels just lovely right now, it's about 57F with very very low breeze) and I'm planning to 'plan and record' everything today. Thursday-before-TOM is traditionally Carb Cravings Galore Day, but I'm hoping to head that off. I hold out no hope for weigh-in tomorrow (again, TOM) but I figure this isn't week-to-week--it's lifewise, right?

Another agent has expressed interest in reading my book, so I'm trying to pull that all together and get it sent off to her. Fingers crossed for me, Turtles!

Judy, I hope your weigh-in was good (or at least acceptable!) news. You've been on such a roll lately, I'm sure it's more information that will get you to your goal.

Woohoo Bandit, congrats on the loss! I'm sure you're happy about getting a loss after working at it--and your workouts are helping, I'm sure! Swimming laps makes me motion sick , I've always wanted to get into swimming but my stomach doesn't agree that it's a good idea! Kudos for setting exercise goals for the week. I'm sure it's helping.

Time for me to walk, Turtles! I'll talk to you later.

Bandit, Congratulations on your loss!! That's perserverance--when you think you might be up on the scale it's so easy not to WI. And look at the nice reward you got.
Swimming must help and you're already upping the number of laps you're swimming.
Weigh to go. Thanks for the slim vibes. That made me chuckle.

Mousie, please get better soon. Food poisoning is so horrible. Planning and preparing and writing down your food plan is the weigh to go. Good for you. Feel well and healthy soon. Looks like we're all on a roll. :

Yesterday was my WI and I stayed the same. That is a big whew for me! I had a tough week and was struggling + I babysat a lot for my daughter which meant I didn't get on the treadmill. Today I am down a bit on my home scale and I am aiming to lose .4# of a pound between now and Halloween to complete my Halloween challenge!
That would put me down 7# since I started. Yahoo!!!!! I can do this. When I look at the numbers on the scale I am so pleased because I thought I'd have to maintain at 215-220# for the rest of my life. So this is rewarding. Just have to keep positive thoughts, exercise, stick to Core, and drink the water. This is doable.

Hey, my WW's leader had a great thing yesterday at the meeting. She had the word "impossible" on her board. Then she added an apostrophe and made the word say "I'm possible". How's that for a positive message. Nothing is impossible. We make everything possible for ourselves. Good luck everybody.
Love,
Judy

Hey Judy, you know what a maintain means? It means you balanced your intake with your outgo (so to speak!). So even though you didn't get to punch your treadmill, you (probably unconsciously) adjusted your eating to compensate. That rocks, I my book!

As for the impossible thing...I was in the weirdest mood for my walk this morning! I was strutting up the street, playing with my stride (bend my knees more...let my hips swing...let's see if the arms can swing faster...what happens if I aim my feet at a single line...?) and the thought popped to my head "when I get this done, and I know I will, I'm not doing it again." This rush of...I don't know, just a sense that I'm in the right headspace, I'm on the right path, and this WILL happen for me this time came over me, and I threw my head up and charged on. Impossible? Not for me, not now!

I came in in 54 minutes (3.1 miles). Go me!

Charge on, Turtles! I believe in us!

Mousie!!!! What a wonderful post. You're really inspiring. Yes, you're right.
We all have our heads in a good place now. I can feel it and I can read it when you and Bandit post. So, good for us. Your pace for walking is fabulous!!
Weigh to go. And major good luck on your book.
Bandit, don't you agree that we're going straight ahead this time? Yay!
Love,
Judy

Well, Turtles, good thing I had no hope for weigh-in today, because I would have been disappointed! I'm up 2.0. I'm not devastated by it, really--it's right before TOM, and I'm comfortable with what I'm doing. This is just a blip.

I'm at my favorite "other" place to write--the Panera Bread Cafe by our house. I've got my first 50 pages ready to send to this agent along with the other things she requested, but I still need a synopsis. So that's my project for the morning!

Have a good day, Turtles!

Hi mousie - hang in there, we all have those little gains.

Judy - nice job on the maintain!

Have a great "turtle" weekend & drink your water & get in some exercise. Maybe some
"sexercise" too :-) I hear that counts for activaty points!!!

Bye for now.

Thanks for the encouragement, Bandit!

I'm participating in NaNoWriMo (nanowrimo.org) this month, and with that focus I'm contemplating adding in hitting lifting and walking hard, too. It's just one month, right? My month will be built around writing 50,000 words (about 1700 a day, if I write each day) and I think I would appreciate the chance to shift focus a bit! I've been wanting to hit the weights lately, too. This may be just the moment to get it going!

I have just finished lunch--2 oz. focaccia bread, 4 oz baked chicken, 1/2 cup chopped tomatoes w/ basil and garlic, and 1/2 oz. shredded cheese--and am going to pull out my calendar and start planning. I'm excited!

Have a good week, Turtles!

Hi Turtles,
I love the goals we're setting for ourselves. This is the weigh to go!

Bandit, I especially love the extra activity you suggest beyond swimming, etc. Very funny and it made me chuckle. Keep up the good work. :hi: or

Mousie, I am so impressed with the writing you're doing. Good luck with this new packet you're putting together. In the meantime I give you all the credit in the world for trying nanowrimo this month. I know Lin and Choosie have participated in the past and they recommend it. Hey, maybe next year for me? Also bigtime good luck with the lifting and exercising. You sound like a very enthusiastic Mousie and that's not only good for you, it's good for us.

As far as me, I'm off and running. Hit a little snag over the weekend, but instead of completely falling apart, I was able to gather myself up yesterday and get on track with the food. Too tired to hop on the treadmill, but I intend to do that today. In the meantime I made my Halloween Challenge of 7 pounds in 7 weeks. I am thrilled and working toward a short Thanksgiving Challenge of 4# in these upcoming weeks.
To do that I'll have to make sure I'm on the treadmill and I know I can do it if I make time for myself.

Good luck to us all and keep on keepin' on!

YAAAAAAAAAY Judy, making your Halloween goal! FANTASTIC, your efforts are paying off! I'm sure you'll get that Thanksgiving goal, too, you're a Losing Machine right now!

Bandit, I'm not EVEN going to ask if you got to partake in your "other" activities this weekend.

I've been out already this morning and done my walking, 3.1 miles in 55 minutes. With daylight savings it's BRIGHT out now when I go out! I went out at 6:15 this morning and had on my SUNGLASSES! I felt a bit ridiculous, but you do what works, right?

Today is HALLOWEEN, Turtles! We are not planning on handing out candy tonight, maybe we'll go and hang out at my parents' place, just leave this place dark. I know we all can plan our treats and resist temptation! Having treats isn't wrong, just know what you're doing! I believe in us, Turtles, have a good day/evening!

Hey Mousie, I believe in us too! It's so wonderful to have the three of us doing well and concentrating on what we can do! Congrats on th fast 3mile walk this morning.
You are inspiring me and I was able to pick up my pace a bit too. Thanks so much!

Okay Bandit, we're all burning to know if you got in some extra activity points this weekend! Come clean, will ya'?

For Halloween I bought 140 bags of mini pretzels individually wrapped. Well, my dh had to work tonight and I ran out of bags! Can you imagine? So I had to run up to CVS to buy candy that I won't binge on--that's a trick in itself since I've been know to binge on creamed corn in a can!! It's quieted down quite a bit now and I hope that's it for the Halloweeners. As far as the leftover candy, I may just put it on the porch in a basket for latecomers and let them take as much as they want. You know, we can get through anything as long as we plan and prepare and then get flexible when things don't work perfectly.

to us all as we get closer to Thanksgiving. I'm working on a Thanksgiving challenge of losing 4# in the 3 1/2 weeks till then. I know I can do it if I perservere.

Love,
Judy

Judy, where do you live that you think you're already DONE with trick-or-treaters?? It's not even 5:00 here! Goodness...I thought you were in the midwest, for some reason...hmm.

Good idea to leave the extra outside! Someone(s) will take it, and then it's not in your house! I'm feeling more and more like a Scrooge as the sun sets, but it's REALLY not the right answer for me to have the stuff in the house--either from a health, or a money, perspective! But I feel like the Grinch Who Stole Halloween.

I gave stickers to the kids I volunteer with, this afternoon, so at least I'm partially redeemed, right?

Oh...and if Bandit DID get some "extra activity points" this weekend...I don't think she can "come clean" about it--the two concepts seem to be mutually exclusive, to me!
