Default Wicked Wednesday

Good morning all,

Hope everyone is doing well. Didn't have the most healthy meal last night, my only consolation was that it was full of monosatuarated fat (and I didn't binge after yah). Oh well, I am feeling down, TOM is starting and I am just sooo bummed right now. My brother and I had a good talk last night and then told me a story that made me worried for him and kind of made me think. Him and a good friend of his went to get HIV tests together. Anyway turns out my brother's was negative (I hope he's being honest, I made him promise me if it's ever positive he'd tell me right away), but his friend's test ended up being positive. Just makes me worried though, his friend was careful, but nothing is ever 100%. Sorry to be a downer, but I do worry about him.

Kierie: I guess I won't be any help cheering ya up right now. I am sorry you almost got mugged, but am relieved to hear you are okay. Being home alone is a HUGE trigger for me, I am getting better. I try to keep myself occupied, that helps. I hope you were okay, coming on-line and writing that probably helps. My BF sometimes has to work all night (he gets no overtime or time in lieu either).

Anyway, any rays of sunshine out there? I think we could use some cheering up!

Cheers!

Ali

Hey Ali
I survived last night relatively unscathed I had a hot Chocolate which is not bad considering we have a large jar of PB On the shelf and thats my drug
Today I'm totally back on Track and ready to kick some ARSE!

In re to your brother I think its great that he opened up to you about going to get an HIV test. Alot of people just go even if they are not at high risk just to make sure. From what I hear people usually go in pairs for moral support.
It's scary being young and single. I think Women are taught to think of consequences of sex moreso than men are beyond pregnancy.

I think women learn or at least I learned to date defensively (kinda like driving defensively)
OK so you asked for Rays of sunshine, I have one coming in my window RIGHT NOW its goign to be a beautiful yet chilly day here in NJ.
I will bbiab

Good morning girls!

Ali - HIV scares me. And you are right, the only way you can be positive is to refrain from sex, never get needles, never get tatooes, etc. I am sure he is probably not positive and telling the truth. I have had a couple of friends with HIV (both homosexual males) and that's been really hard. PLus, two of my sister's godbrothers died of AIDS - both were hemophyliacs and contracted HIV in the 80's. The good news though, is that new meds are seriously increasing the quality of life for these people and they are living long, happy lives.

Kier - I get lonely eating-trips too. I hate when DH works OT which is most of the time it seems! Today he went into the office early and I have class tonight so we won't hang out. Good for you for only having the hot chocolate!

Last night I went to the gym. It was 40 second intervals so we worked hard! There were men there last night too - co-ed for a couple of hours. IT was busy. I like the circuit format b/c it's so friendly. You work hard but you chat and talk to people and no one goes if they like to be solitary work out people. I am not a solitary workout person. I like to socialize and make the time go faster. Plus, you should be able to talk while working out so it's a good measure.

My sister went for the first time since we signed up in early sept!! She stopped b/c she had walking pnemonia and then I think she was scared off of it. But I have gone. What I really like is that I can be there and back in 45 min. I don't like taking more than an hour out of my day for the gym. Mostly b/c I am so busy with other stuff I don't have the time!

Anyway, we also walked the dog last night and got some fresh (cold) air.

Today is a busy one - boss is back and I have class tonight. Have to change my name at the bank over lunch as well - so much to do, so little time!

Well, better get going - TTFN

Belle: I think he's telling me the truth, well I certainly hope he is (actually thinking about how the topic came up, I am pretty sure he's telling me the truth). My brother is gay and single so I do worry about him. I know he'll be careful and whatnot, still I am his big sister so I do worry. Hopefully they'll find a cure for it and hopefully he'll never get it.

Kierie: I know. Luckily the gay community does try to educate since their risk is higher and I know my brother is conscious of it. One hot choclate! That's great!

Speaking of my brother, I am researching flights to Vancouver.... My BF and I need to set up some dates soon so we can go. It should be fun seeing both my bro and my BF's family too.

Cheers!

psst.. I'm in Vancouver! It's sunny here today too, which is nice considering it's fall aka, the rainy season.

Ali - AIDS totally terrifies me, and I'm glad your brother doesn't have HIV, you gotta make sure he takes care of himself. That is some serious stuff... the worst part is that so many young people don't even give it another thought.. i'm thinking back to my high school years and hearing about the sexual experiences of others. What shocks me is that it's still spreading.. oh geez, now someone needs to cheer ME up!

I had the BEST sleep last night... eek.. i'm late for workk.. i'll bbl..
