Hey all,

For Canadians, now at Swiss Chalet you can have these really yummy rotisserie veggies as a side dish, they are delicious.

Anyhoo, I am eating out too much, but with a somewhat packed and disorganized house, going out to dinner has been a bit of a refuge from the place... Somewhere we can unwind... We both agreed though after we have moved in we'll cut our going out to dinner drastically... it's better for the wallet and our waistlines.

So we signed with the lawyer's office yesterday so that's done... now we just need the keys and we'll get those tomorrow!! I really hope my BF doesn't have to work late tonight... I want to finish the kitchen tonight... we also have to think of emptying our freezer..

I'm posting on this Wednesday thread because it's at the top of the board.

Hi Becky - it will be nice when things settle down - you sound busy!

Ali - Keys are so exciting!! It makes me wish I could get a new place.

Speaking of new places...my parents bought property on a lake about a four hour drive from here. They gave a completely low ball offer ($20 000) less than asking and it was accepted yesterday. They take possession on the 30th - I'm so excited!! It has a small cabin (with power - but no bathroom just outhouse) and the lake is a good size and has fishing and allows power boats. They have a 5 year plan to build a bigger cabin with a sewer system but for now it will be nice to have a bit of a getaway place. I managed to get to volleyball last night - I've been feeling a little strange lately so it wasn't much of a workout. I have another volleyball tonight - hopefully I can actually get into it. Today is the work potluck and there is food EVERYWHERE!! I've already made plans to be somewhere else for a majority of the potluck time so I don't nibble after my original plate. Any other strategies for me?

I'll try to let you guys know how I did later this afternoon.

Becky: apologies again for not seeing your thread... I blame moving yah, that's it... I am not a flake at all

KT: with power is a good start. My best guy friend's parents place used to have no power... we had loads of fun. Now his parents bought a cottage near there with everything, phone, satallite, running water... Sacha and I was to get a cottage at some point! BTW how has your weather been this summer? It's been like an english summer here, with rain, rain, cool days and more rain!

Oh, could all you ladies give a prayer for my uncle? He's just found out his date for a bone marrow transplant (August 10th, his donor is in the US, he's in the UK)... Bone marrow transplants are basically an all or nothing thing and I am hoping and praying for the best. Even if the prognosis is good, he'll still have weeks of chemotherapy to endure (he has a disease that acts like leukemia, and he's the only member left in my mom's immediate family growing up; her sister died of leukemia 15 years ago).

Ali, Don't apologize! Take things in stride as far as the house decorating thing goes otherwise you will make yourself crazy. Have fun!

KT~ Yay! I am so happy for you that you have a place to escape. Cabins are so fun!
