Morning All!

I'm a little tired today. I had to get up at 4:45 to get my 6 miler in before work and didn't get to bed until after 11 last night because I volunteered to go see Matrix Revolution last night with CB.

I get to pick my car up in about an hour. Yeah! I hate being without my car. My mechanic found the same things wrong with it as did CB's but did the repairs for about $550. MUCH better then the $2300 of the original quote! I have yoga tonight and then some friends are coming over for desert. I made frozen peanut butter pie.

My clothes fit fine even though I haven't journaled in a week now. I feel puffy though so I'm going to concentrate on drinking water today - I don't think I've gotten enough lately.

Went to a circuit training class yesterday that is offered in my company's gym. It was O.K. I liked it because it was a change of pace but wasn't that thrilled with the work-out. It is pretty much just rotating through the machines - 45 secs on a machine then 15 to get to the next.

That's all from me. What's new with you?

Laura~ You amaze me! 6 miles. How long does that take you? You must laugh when I complain about having to get up at 6am to work out. Ok you've inspired me! I WILL GET UP TOMMORROW MORNING!

Our laptop came in today too so I won't have to get to school early to work on notes!!! I am so excited about that. Dh was really cute. He was like a kid at Christmas opening that box Lets see I am FINALLY starting to journal today. BTW Laura thanks for the suggestion of not journaling but I need the accountability with myself right now. I haven't been eating op but I haven't been pigging out. I haven't done fast food or greasy stuff I just am not writing down so I know I am going over points. I have been without chocolate now for 5 days. I was just having psycho cravings after Halloween so I decided to detox a bit. So far it is going well and my cravings are so much more manageable. Chocolate is DEFINITELY my trigger. I am not sure why I didn't realize this before but now that it is a reality I have GOT to limit it. I know 5 days is probably not long for most but we have a hideous snack bar that is basically free AND filled with Snickers, Reeses, Twix, CC Cookies etc etc. The funny thing is on MOnday a lady from work brolught in a TRIPLE chocolate cake! I couldn't believe it. I did resist though. Ok sorry about the ramble but it feels like it has been so long since I have posted consistently and I definitely want to start doing that. I know that it helps.

I am looking forward to the new challenge to. I need to think about my New Years goals!!!

Hi Becky!! I'm so glad the laptop came in. I know mornings aren't your thing. 6 miles genrally takes me about 90 minutes. I need to improve my speed though - I was all pumped because today I did it in 85 minutes! Tell you what - I'll get up and work out with you tomorrow morning. I need to either do 4 miles or 40 minutes of ST.

Sounds Great! I am in. Does it weird you out to walk when it is so dark outside or do you have a treadmill??

Morning!

I am done training so I'm back! I promise I'll be a better poster from here on... I'm all excited because I bought a WARM winter coat last night (kohl's had a 1-day sale that was 50% off!) and my sister is heading up to visit this weekend. (Okay, she's at college and does not have a car, so I have to go get her and bring her back, but still, she's coming to visit, so that'll be fun!)

Becky - you have inspired me! ...and my competitiveness... I am going to see if I can top your 5 days without chocolate starting today! (feel like a side-challenge besides the interesting one that Jess has going on?) I had a serious episode with leftover Halloween chocolate yesterday... let's just call that in the past now.

Laura - 6 miles! at 4:45? How do you get any sleep? Seriously, though, that's awesome! I have been just barely dragging myself to the gym lately to get in my exercise. The thought of "office @ss" is what keeps me going - basically I sit at my computer all day long and get no exercise until I get home, so I CANNOT just go home and sit in front of the TV all night!

Anyone else around today????

I gotta get back to work I suppose!

Becky - we have a treadmill which I love because walking in the dark weirds me out (I always start wondering if vampires are real). I use that weekday mornings. Indy has a walking/running/biking trail that runs from a north suburb into down town that I like to use on weekends.

Angie - office @ss - you crack me up. I'm always amazed that people have the gumption to go to the gym afterwork. I could never make myself do that! Have a wonderful time with your sister this weekend!

OFFICE @SS!!!! I'm howling!!!!

Hi ladybugs. Ihave an afternoon off because the daycare provider had a funeral to go to. So while Aaron sleeps, I'm doing a little something for me!

To all who asked about my appointment, it went really well. I heard the heartbeat and drove the doc nuts with my 1058 questions (ok, maybe slightly exaggeraged there, but close!).

Angie, don't you just love Kohl's? I grew up in Milwaukee, and it started there, so we had it all my life. Just lately in the last ten years or so is when it's spread around the country, and I love it when other people love it as much as I always have. My sister and I have a joke: you know how no matter when you go into Kohl's there 's always some kind of big sale going on? So now we call each other and say, "You're SO not going to believe this...there's a sale at Kohl's!"

Becky, I am so PROUD of you. It is never easy to give up a trigger food, and the fact that you have gone 5 days is huge. Is it easier to resist everything else whenyou take out the chocolate factor? I bet you love your new laptop -- think of it, you can now play solitaire anywhere you want.

Laura, hey you workout queen, you. Yeah, I'd much rather pay $550 for car repairs than over $2000. I wonder what the difference in quotes was? Or is it that you're not a man and they think you won't know the difference? Drew and I always get different quotes on things like car repairs, and his quotes are always lower *grrrr* I'm coming over tonight for peanut butter pie!!! Oh, regarding the challenge: I am an evil little sh*t, aren't I?

Laura~ I so want a treadmill. I keep waiting for Jared's parents to get tired of theirs but they haven't quite yet. I would suggest that dh and I get one but the laptop set us back and we are still saving for the proverbial house. I will probably do the WATP tape tomorrow. I will be walking with you!!!

Angie~ Great, we will have our own CHOCOLATE CHALLENGE!! Although I hadn't decided how long I would go without. I may just decide I am detoxed enough I am at least going to follow through Sat. and make it one week.

Jayne~ I am so glad that you obgyn visit went well. Congrats! I just watched the "Friends" episode where Rachel is calling the Dr at 3am b/c the baby has the hiccups. So funny. I am sure dr's are used to answering lots of questions.

Ok I only had a snippet of time. I will talk to you later girls!!

Yeah! The Noodle is healthy! So glad your appointment went well Jayne! Please don't kick me out of the club but....(insert stage whisper here) I don't like Kohl's! (gasp) The difference in prices was between a dealership and a little 1 man garage that I like. I've always thought that this particular dealership jacks up prices because I'm a young, single woman.

Becky - not sure how I missed the bit about chocolate until Jayne posted. She's right - you deserve a major pat on the back for recognizing and avoiding a trigger food for this long! I certainly wouldn't have that kind of willpower! BTW - you've got yourself a walking partner!

That's ok Laura -- when I'm next at your house (ahem ) I'll just take you right over to the Kohl's 75% off rack and convert the heck outta you. After all, who else could do that but a little blackberry tart like moi?

jayne - kohl's is awesome! and if you've noticed... JCPenney's has a "biggest sale of the year" at least every weekend... that's the joke around my house!

laura - oooh i hate dealership prices for car repair work - if i can avoid it i do!

only had a little time to post so i've gotta go, have no idea why we're so insanely busy here at work today but we are! and i'm back to mentoring again tomorrow so everyone have an excellent weekend!!!
