Wow!!!! Alot of MIA's around here and I'm one of them. My whole life has changed and I either didn't have the time to post or just didn't feel up to it. Sorry guys....but I don't like to boo-hoo too much on here and that's all it would have been. On a lighter note......things are looking up and slowly getting better. Bill still hasn't left the house so I've been sleeping at my friends place and then coming here around 5am when he leaves for work to get the kids off to school and take care of the house. As soon as he gets home in the pm....I leave. For the past week or so.....the kids wanted to stay with me and that made me feel good. Bill is just so da** miserable all of the time.....yelling at everyone and just being a miserable human being that even the kids don't want to be around him anymore. Sooooo, he should get served today.....BUT!!!!!! I just found out he's flying to La. for a few days and it will have to wait until he gets back....hopefully on Friday. Then I can move back in here for a few more weeks until I move to Tenn. Yep......I bought a house in Tenn. I love it! A two-story with a stream in the back and lots of room for my horses. By the way, I got another horse.....his name is Pegasus and is a Polish Arabian.....he's 14 years old and used to belong to Burt Reynolds. I got a kick out of that. Anyway, the woman who previously owned him couldn't afford or take care of him anymore and she just gave him to me. Someone who had my "horse rescue" card gave her my number and she didn't want him to go to just anyone by selling him. Sooooooo, I'm the lucky one. He's a little high strung and you need to know what you're doing but he's had excellent training and does just about anything and everything you want him to do.

I haven't been on program for a while (probably since my last post) and am just trying to "BE SMART" and eat what I can when I'm hungry......making good choices. I'd like to start back OP soon. I need to get my sh** together first. I'm sure you know what I mean.

Soooooooo, Candice......it sounds like you'll have a beautiful garden again this year. Can't wait to see it all.

Well, it's time I took a shower and got out of here. Lots of things to do today........I'll keep you all up to date as best I can.
I hope you are ALL doing well and let's see if we can get this forum back on track.

So long for now.....

My yard smells like heaven With all the iris blooming (lots this year) everything smells so good. The purple irsis, pink soapwort and white star of bethleham look so pretty.

Got all my impatients in today (coral) and some of my dark leaf begonias with the licorice plant in one of my barrels.

Had a scare out in the yard yesterday...my right leg (which happens to be my good leg) would not let me put weight on it, I thought I would never get back to the house! Then I did some stretches and it was ok. Then it happend when I got up out of my recliner inside too! Today it has been ok. My hips are getting really bad and my yard work harder to do each year!

NUTRITION NEWS FOCUS
"Nutrition news is important. We help you understand it!"

Today's Topic: Nuts to High Cholesterol

Yet another study of feeding nuts has shown a reduction in serum cholesterol levels. This time, walnuts, which are rich in polyunsaturated fats, replaced about 35 percent of the calories obtained from monounsaturated fat in a Mediterranean diet. About 50
middle-aged people in Spain with elevated cholesterol levels completed the trial. Reductions in total and LDL cholesterol averaged about 4 to 6 percent.

It is not clear what the active ingredient in the nuts is that lowers cholesterol. While speculation has focused on the fat content, it could be vegetable protein, soluble fiber, or trace minerals. The bottom line is that nuts can be a healthy addition to almost any diet. This study appeared in the April 4, 2000 issue of the Annals of
Internal Medicine.

HERE'S WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW: Previous studies with almonds and peanuts (which are not nuts but legumes) showed reductions in risk factors for heart disease. It is important to remember that nuts are high in fat and calories. Simply adding them to the diet means a certain weight gain _ they have to replace something else.

Well..I hurt my back Monday moving the washer and dryer out to clean...I think it is just a strain but I can't sit for very long so have my exercise mat on the livingroom floor along with the heating pad and my tennis balls and a stretchy band to help me work out the pain. I want an MRI on my hips and lower back but the docs do not want to order them. I have not been there this time..trying to treat it on my own. I will go if it is not better next week. All they want to do is give you meds and I can't take them so trying to get a handle on this myself. Since I have lost weight I seem to injure myself more

The trip to my mom's will have to wait..can't ride in a car right now let alone drive myself!

Yes we do have stong wind here..sometimes I wonder why I put all my flowers in. Today I had to prune back some more wind damage to shrubs and bushes, trees and my begonias. I think everything will come out of it though. Fertilized tonight when I watered.

My back is ok as long as I keep moving and wear some support. It is when I sit for too long it really hurts. Can't ride in the car....and when I am doidng my exercises the pelcic tilt and cat stretch really hurt! Been stretching on my exercise ball too!

I could hardley move when I got up so I did my stretching and went out to help DS do some more pruning form our stong winds, stuff that was too high and I could not reach it. Then we ate and DH mowed and I went for a long walk.
Forgot my pedometer so not sure how many miles but at least 3 and was on the move for over an hour and a half, had to stop and do some stretching along the way and my hip and back hurt so bad but I was determined I was gonna walk the pain away. When I got home I swept and moped the basement. The walk gave me more energy but did nothing for the pain. I was listening to the radio so my speed varried from slow to a moderate trot...(to different music). I would love to do this everyday..we will see how I feel tomorrow

My son got back early from his little vacation to lake
Superior..I was looking forward to a few more days without him

If I have the 3 MRI's, low back and both hips we have to pay 1000 out of pocket so DH is trying to talk me out of it..but I have not even seen the doc yet. Seemed alittle easier to bend today but that part is just muscle I know already. I just want to make sure I do not have a problem that my exercising or overdoing willl make much worse. It's probably just the fibro...but this pain feels different?

Gonna be a nice one today..rain yesterday so no walk....we nee d the rain too.

My roses have that ugly black spot I am trying to get under control..it is so hard once it starts..and with my back I let it go for a week and it has taken overeek:

Chocolate Mud Cake
Makes 12 Servings - 6 Points Per Serving

1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa, powder
1/3 cup water, hot
5 1/4 oz unsweetened baking chocolate square(s), dark, melted
1 1/4 cup brown sugar
3 1/2 oz ground almonds
4 large egg(s), separated
2 Tbsp powdered sugar, sifted
5 1/4 oz light butter, melted

1. Preheat oven to 325ºF. Coat an 8-inch square cake pan with cooking
spray.
2. In a large bowl combine cocoa and water. Stir until smooth. Add
chocolate, butter, sugar and almonds. Stir in egg yolks one at a time.
3. In a separate bowl beat egg whites with an electric mixer until soft
peaks form. Gently fold egg whites into chocolate mixture.
4. Pour batter into prepared pan and bake until cooked, about 1 hour and
15 minutes. 5. Remove cake from pan and dust with powdered sugar. Cut
into 12 pieces to serve.
Cook's Notes: Cocoa powder is a low-fat ingredient used to add richness
to chocolaty desserts and snacks. Experiment with it in some of your
favorite recipes.

Yes it is cooler here and we got 3 inches of much needed rain but others got way too much and flooding! We have been eating zucchini and cucumbers and I picked a few cherry tomaotes today before I sprayed for insects and fungus. My arms hurt from lugging the gallon sprayer around. Took 4 gallons of stuff to get it all covered! But then we had unforecated rain so not sure if it will take.

The poor fish..he is just resting on the bottom of the tank with his fins dropping and some times looks like he is gasping for air. He just has no energy. I have treated him all I can....maybe it is his time to go like Siwa said....The dog is bad too, she can no longer get up the basement steps or down after we carry her up to go out. I am cleaning up after her all the time..too much for me!

Busy trying to get my sons stuff together for his big move...sheets, towlels pillows, and a few supplies to get him started..Aug 1 will be here before you know it!

Down .5 this week..finally ...after so many months of the scale not moving!
