  • Good Morning to all,

Our thread was getting long (which is great), so, here we go again.
Tammy, you said you wore your shorts to school????? I didn't think any teacher could do that!!!!! That would make life a lot easier in TX if our teachers could do that.

Isidore is going to miss TX. Yea!!!! Now, all those people who stocked up on water, can get healthy and drink, drink, drink.

Yesterday, I planted 2 holly bushes by the side of our house. The neighbor's yard men cut down my monkey grass last week--instead of going through her side of the yard to get to the back. I was furious! They keep blowing leaves in our yard. After talking to the owner several times, they have stopped blowing. But now it's my monkey grass.
Well, these prickly bushes will keep them away from my grass now. I've got to plant one more after breakfast today.

My weight remains about the same but I can feel the inches leaving me.
Hope everyone has a great day.

    Tina
  • Good Evening,

Hope every one is having a wonderful evening. I can't believe that it gets dark at 7:30. It won't be long that it's 5:30. Only problem then is I think I have to get ready for bed then.

Tina, thanks for starting the new thread. I've been watching the news to make sure that Isidore wasn't coming your way. I was saying my prayers. Sorry about your monkey grass!! By the way, Zack is now 9 pounds 4 oz. He is such a cutie!!

Tammy, the poor ya'll. A principal like that can make a LONG year! I feel sorry for your former deaf student too. The teachers need the information from the teacher from the day school for the deaf. It only will help the student... like I need to tell you that

Dee, hope everything is going good. I hear you on being tired of wearing the same clothes all the time. I do the same thing.

Pat is doing great. He is back at work, playing in his band, etc. He still can't lift heavy things. I'm still exercising but my food this week hasn't been to great. Life is pretty much back to normal in our household.

    Susan
  • Teachers are allowed to wear shorts as long as they meet the dress code that the students use. In good taste, below the finger tips, not tight, etc.

I'm going to be a proud mom here for a little bit. If you would like to see a picture of my son, Tim, you need to type in www.cd-communications.com

When you get to the website, click on Marion Local Band Contest. Then click on Arcanum.

Go to the 2nd page, 4th row down, picture that is on the far right. That's Tim and his bass drum.

On the first page, the field commander is his date for homecoming!!

Weight was the same as last week, even though TOM is done. I was just at the gyn. over the summer, and I told him that things were pretty regular. Since then, my periods have been off.

    Thank goodness tomorrow is Friday!!!!
  • That's a great picture of Tim!!! I should have known he'd be tall and thin with his cross country running. Tammy, I know you are proud of him.

I did pretty good OP today. I drank all my water. I didn't count points but don't think I was out of range.

Yes, tomorrow is Friday and then the weekend!!!
    Tina
  • Hi all! Tim ran his 2nd best time for the year at the cross country meet this morning! He was in the top 7 for the team, so he is still considered Varsity. The coach told him today that he has run enough Varsity races to earn a Varsity letter!!!! He is so excited!! Not too bad for a freshman!

Yes Tina, he is tall and thin. He just passed me in heighth, he is now 5'9" and weighs about 140. He has a way to go before he passes me in weight! lol My hubby is 6'3", so we think that Tim probably has some more growing ahead of him.

Lazy day after we got home from the meet. A nice nap, reading the paper, messing on the computer, and now I'm heading into the recliner to read my book.

Hope you are all having a nice weekend.
  • Good evening,
We just got back from a movie and dinner. We saw Sweet Home Alabama and it was good. Then, we went out for Mexican food. It wasn't that great. I felt like I just ate lots of calories. I'll need to exercise tomorrow.

    Hope everyone is doing good.

Tammy, congratulations to Tim on getting his varsity letter.
Tim sounds like my son. I'm 5'6" and my husband is 6'. David is about 6'2". He used to be really thin. Then when he started working and living on his own, he started gaining. He's no cook He drinks too many Coke Classics and eats too much take-out food. Oh well, maybe someday he'll get married and his wife will cook healthy for him.

    Tina
  • Hi ya'll,

Tammy, Can you say "What a cutie" Tim is adorable. I had no doubt that he would be. That is impressive to have earned a letter already! Congrats!!

Tina, I wondered if Sweet Home Alabama was good. I lived in Alabama from 2nd grade - middle of my 6th grade year. Therefore, not only do I have a Texas accent .... I have a little bit of an Alabama twang. Just ask Pat, he likes to point it out by making me say things over again.

It was a nice day here but I liked the cooler weather we had earlier in the week. They are saying one night this week it should be in the 40's. We'll see if it happens.

Hope ya'll have a good weekend. I think we are going to the local festival on our town's square tomorrow. I'm looking forward to it.

    Susan
  • Susan, I sometimes have a "thick" Southern drawl. When I was young, my family took a trip to New York. I remember people snickering at my Mother's accent.

It's ashame that we've been invaded by all these Northerners (sorry, don't want to hurt anyone's feelings) and not everyone has an accent any more.

    Take it easy, y'all.
  • Tina,

I went to MI about 6 years ago to see my best friend. Everyone up there kept saying "say something". They just wanted to hear me talk. Oh well, I wouldn't trade my accent for anything. I'm a good ole Texas girl! And quite proud of it.

Hope you have a great weekend.

    Susan
  • HEY! I'm a northerner. I've had lots of people tell me that I have an accent. Not sure what kind though.

Thanks for the compliments about Tim. Sometimes he gets down on himself (his hair's too dark, his face is too round, etc.). He doesn't realize how cute he is!!!

I would like to see Sweet Home Alabama and eat Mexican!!!! Once of these days, maybe we'll make time to do that!

Got off pretty cheap on the homecoming shopping yesterday. We went right after church, so Tim had nice clothes on. He found a nice blue shirt that went great with the pants that he had on. All we bought was the shirt and a new belt! Relief!!

Well, I need to finish getting ready for school. My hair is still wet, no make-up on, still in nightgown. Leaving in 15-20 minutes? Maybe not.
  • Happy Monday morning!!! or NOT

Hope everyone is raring to go. Can you believe that tomorrow is October !!! That's ridiculous.
The big department store downtown already has it's Christmas tree shop up and running. That is way too early for me.

I guess it's never too early to think about losing a little more weight by Christmas. It would be fantastic if I could get to my personal goal of 145 by then. The way things are going and have been going, I don't have much hope, though.

Lots to do and so I better get to washing, ironing, and cleaning. Ah the life of being retired. he..he..he..

    Tina
p.s. It's been one year since my forced retirement. Wow!
  • Hi,

Can't believe this is the last day of September. Where in the world did time go? I remember being a kid thinking Christmas would never get here, now it comes everytime I turn around.

Tina, hope you got all of your chores done today. It can't already be a year ago that you retired. Do you miss work?

Tammy, we had a staff development day. It was one of those days where we have to go and be the students. Glad that you got Tim's homecoming clothes. I know it can all be expensive.

Well, I bot measured today. I lost inches in my thighs, stomach and hips. I sure wish it would come off faster and the weight would go down.

    Talk to you tomorrow.
    Susan
  • It's really October. WOW

We've had some nice Fall weather lately so I guess it's not such a shock.

Yes, I miss my job!!! I didn't want to leave it. If you'll remember, I was pushed out because of the new pulpit minister and elders. But, that's in the past. I've had a great year doing what I wanted. Sometimes I just don't have enough hours in my day to do everything I want.

Susan, congrats on losing those inches. They'll keep coming off. (Wish I could get rid of this tummy of mine.)
Tammy, you were so lucky to just buy a few things.

Sis, Dee, Kady, come on and post. Tell us something fabulous!

    Tina
    145 personal goal
  • Not much to post. Just trying to stay OP as much as possible. I got my TOM so I don't expect too much of a loss, if any this week. We'll see. Hope everyone is having a great week. Good luck on Thurs. ....Sis
  • Tina, I can't believe it has been a year since the job fiasco!!! It doesn't seem that long ago! I know you miss it, but you have done so much and been so busy this past year, you wouldn't have had time for it anyway, right????????????????

Susan, I haven't gotten measured, but things I was wearing last spring are fitting MUCH better. I'm taking that as a good sign!

Sis, I feel the same about posting sometimes. I wonder what to say, and then as you can see, I sometimes post too much! I've gotten into the habit of drinking too much Pepsi again. Need to pump the water into me instead.

I'm glad tomorrow is Friday. I'm chaperoning the band and doing the announcing for them tomorrow night at the football game. We have over an hour bus ride. Boy am I looking forward to that. NOT
I'm sure it will be after midnight when we get home, then a CC meet on Saturday morning. Oh boy. Never a dull moment.
