Default Thursday's Daily Thread

Morning girls,
I had a great Easter break. BF and I spent a long weekend at BF's parents. Nice to get out of London for a bit. Lots of healthy country walks and plenty of gin (in the Queen Mum's memory, bless her). Haven't had a chance to post till this morning (and I didn't even have time to lurk!).
I got a few choccie eggs but I've only eaten part of one and I'm giving the rest away to BF and coworkers. Stacey - I tried some ice cream on Sunday night and I didn't think much of it. Shock, horror I know. I'm sure once I try an old favourite (like B&J's half baked) then I'll be back on to it, but I'm going to try and save it as a special treat, maybe every other weekend or something.
Jess - great loss!
JenK & Tonya - great piccies!!
Kim - is that fire out yet? Hope your lungs are OK.
Rina - hope you're feeling better?
JenL - good on you getting the cheaper hotel deal!! I hate when you book things and then see them cheaper later.
Oh - I need advice from you girls. It's my niece's christening in a couple of weeks. I'm going to be her godmother and I want to get a really good present. Something that she can look at in years to come and appreciate. Any ideas?
Darn, boss is calling. Must go work. Will try to get back later, hope you're all OK. Apologies to anyone I missed.
Kirsty
PS Kierie - how long are you in Dublin for? I might be over for a friend's wedding but it's not till Aug/Sept.

I'm so annoyed!! The flights I booked (on tuesday) to go to scotland for my niece's christening are now £36 (over $50) cheaper!! I thought I'd do a JenL and see if they'd give me the lower fare, so I phoned up the airline. But no. Ryanair are the world's worst airline when it comes to dealing with complaints and the public. They are cheap, but no customer service whatsoever. They lost my bag for 5 days over New Year and all I got was £15! My friend was flying British Airways and they lost her bag for 2 days at the same time. Only she got £150!
I will try to be calm. Happy thoughts. I don't think I'd mind so much if I wasn't so overdrawn!

Kirsty... I think all airlines are aweful. The prices here fluctuate daily. 2 years ago I was taking a flight that I paid $250 ish for and there was a guy on it complaining that he paid $1000. WOW, he must have really wanted to fly because I would never pay that much unless it was an international flight to somewhere really good!!! I fly a lot for work and really don't like dealing with it.

My cold has gotten worse and I feel rotten. I am starting to wonder how I will fly tomorrow and then do my training. This is rotten. If I was getting trained, I could handle it, but I am the one training, so it is going to be interesting! I am not packed at all, have a ton to do at home, and we had a house guest that stayed late last night and I got nothing done. And I am exausted!!

Poor pitiful me!

Default Morning, all.

Yesterday the pictures that were shared were wonderful! It's SO nice to see what people look like!

Thanks to everyone who congratulated me on my loss!!

Kirsty--Sorry I can't offer any suggestions for what to give your niece for her christening... I've never done that before... And what a pain about the airline being so uncooperative! They really ought to refund the difference, I know they don't have to, but that's just a good business practice, I think.

Jen--Sorry to hear that you're feeling so miserable still. This junk going around is really no fun at all. I'm finally starting to feel a little better (a week after getting it). Hang in there!

OK, I'm gonna go make some oatmeal. Hope my picture works...

Default lurker comes clean

Hello everyone. I posted earlier in the week that I’m a major lurker (have been for at least a year ) and was going to try and post more so here it goes…

I’m following the WW points program (starting today) from home. I’ve gone to meetings before so I have all the materials. I’m going to have Thursday mornings be my weigh in time. Starting weight from this morning is 224.2. If I formally join WW again I’ll probably set my goal weight as 140-145 (towards the high end for my height – 5’4’’ – so that I can stop paying the weekly fee sooner). My personal goal is probably more around 130 or so.

I’ve also joined the spring challenge with my goals for May 1 being:
1)Lose 8 lbs
2)Cardio exercise for 30 minutes 3x/week
3)Strength train 3x/week

Kirsty – Sounds like you had a nice break. We need those once in awhile. Didn’t think much of the ice cream – now that’s an accomplishment.

JenL – Hope you feel better. Flying and then presenting with a cold does not sound like fun.

Jess – Congrats on the new car and the great loss. I bought a new car (VW Jetta) in July of 2000. Guess it isn’t so new anymore, but still feels like it.

JenK – Cute picture and good luck deciding on which law school to attend. I’m so jealous of all your upcoming trips!

KO – Nice to hear from you. I think I’m the opposite when I’m nervous, I go to the bathroom to often.

Tonya – Great pic of you and your daughter and great job getting back on track.

Rina – Hope you’re feeling better. Did you ever end up having your mystery meeting with your boss?

Well that’s about it for today. Talk to you all soon.
Noelle
