Hi ladies:

This weekend I made 2 ww recipes. Oat & apricot breakfast bars & fiesta chicken with rice. Both turned out really good. The bars were abit hard to mix but still taste great - good fast breakfast idea.

My weekend was nice. Went to casino with mom & stepdad but none of us won anything. Then went to bingo & won $100 which was nice.

Ate alittle too much on Sat but have been pretty good today. I w/i in tomorrow so will let you know how that goes. Hopefully will be down some.

Hope everyone had a great weekend. We are suppose to get snow this evening & that will be fine since most of what we had has melted.

Take care.

Hi Turtles,
Had a wonderful weekend. Had company in on Friday night with dh. It was a lot of fun. I made much too much food (I notice people are eating less now)
and the leftovers called me too often. Went to ballet with my dd and saw Romeo and Juliet. It was glorious! Had dinner out--broiled fish. I honestly think that was a mistake because it made me feel like I was dieting and I ate leftovers when I came home. However, Sunday was a great day and I've exercised every day but one this week. Sooooo, all in all I'm doing fine. Today is off to a great start and I already have my dinner made for tonight.
It's Rachel Ray's Country Corn Soup and I pointed it out.

Bandit, thanks for chiming in. Where can I find the fiesta chicken recipe? It sounds like something I'd like. Good luck on your WI

Everybody take care and remember our 2008 resolutions!!!

Hi Judy - the recipe was on the ww site under new recipes, but basically it is:

2 cooked chicken breasts (whichever way you like to cook) - No skin
1 can condensed 1/2 fat cream of chicken soup
1 can water
1 cup salsa
1 cup frozen corn
3/4 cup parcooked rice
Chop up chicken & mix all together & bake 1 hour at 350. Then add 4 oz light cheddar cheese shredded & broil until bubby.
Makes 6 servings at 6 points/each.

I was down 3# this week & was happy with that. Got in another walk today before my lunch which was leftover of the above recipe & grapefruit.
So off to good start for this week.

Hope you all have a great Monday!

Hi Turtles,
Where are we? I've been out east for a couple of days. Eating was so-so, but I think I did okay. Hated missing my WW WI, but hope to get there soon.
Here's for everyone having a good weekend.

Happy Monday all.

Went to W/I on Saturday, oh my but it was ugly! But I went and I have a starting point now and am back on track. I ate a lot of points this weekend so will have to be careful through the rest of the week but it is do-able.

My back and neck are starting to feel a bit better and I can start walking on the treadmill again... I have to start slowly as per doctors orders but that is ok with me. I have lost a lot of the muscle that I had built up and am very weak especially my upper body but it will come back with time.

It was super cold here this weekend... below zero both days with wind chills of -18 at one point... blah! Ready for summer to come.

Hope all is well with everyone. Have a happy day.

Bandit: on your recipe you talked about butter buds... what are those?

Princess- so glad to hear that you are on the road to recovery. That is great that you will be able to use the treadmill.

Bandit- thanks for keeping the board going when know one else was around. Sometimes i just don't feel like i have anything to say or atleast not positive things to say.

Hope every one is taking that one step in front of the other no matter how slow we may be!

Hi Turtles,
Princess, I was hoping you would get better soon. I am so grateful that the pain is easing up and you're able to get on the treadmill. (Man, I really hurt myself doing a fast yoga tape about 2 years ago and I haven't done yoga since. My reliable is the treadmill and I guess I'll stick to that. It's miserable to hurt yourself doing exercise, but it does happen and you've got a positive attitude.) The weight will come off and you're tracking now, so you'll get right back on track for points and weight loss. Here's a and
for coming through a tough time.

Cherry, I'm glad you're reading the posts. Consider chiming in even if you don't have anything positive to say. It's good to know you're out there and we all struggle from time to time. I think within one week I'll have at least 5-7 times that are really tough and I am able to choose the right things about 3 times, so maybe it helps to know we all struggle.

Bandit, thanks for chiming in. You're only up a tiny bit on the scale and you'll go in the right direction this week. :

Ariana, if you're out there, please chime in. We need you and your great ideas!

All goes well here. I'm keeping up with the and I've got lots of green stickers on my calendar for each day I exercise for 30minutes or more. I'm also experimenting with new soup recipes and am trying to keep tight today because I WI on Wednesday morning.
and to us all! We're a brave bunch of chicks--or should I say Turtles?

Morning all and happy Tuesday!

Bandit: Yup, it's official, I am loosing my mind . I thought it was the chicken recipe but after reading your post and looking at it again I think it actually was the "par-boiled rice" that I had a question about... I will have to double check the butter buds thing, must have been another recipe that I saw somewhere. Ok, back to the rice. I normally use basmati rice but I would imagine that any uncooked rice with do?

Judy: Thanks for your encouraging words... I appreciate them.

Ariana: Where did you go?

Cherry: I know how you feel, I stop by here a couple of times a day but don't always post... I am trying to get back to posting at least once a day through out the work week... weekends are harder for me to get online but I do manage from time to time.

Still on track! Went to physical therapy yesterday so I skipped going to the gym but will most like stop there on my way home today... oh my but the PT makes me so sore!

Have a happy day ladies!

Hi turtles:

Princess - the parboiled rice looks like uncooked rice but I guess they parboil it before packing. But any kind of rice would do - just put it in uncooked with rest of ingredients. I really liked this recipe.

It is really cold up here & we got lots of snow today & calling for 20cm more tonight - so that makes getting around tricky. I made meatloaf last night, so have leftovers for tonight for supper.

Hope you are feeling better & everyone else - keep on tracking & drinking your water!

Hi Turtles,
Okay, it's official. I'm making Bandit's Fiesta Chicken tonight--with or without Butter Buds. LOL. I've got all the ingredients in the house and it sounds very good and a change of pace from what I usually make. My WI is tomorrow and I have high hopes, but I'll try and be realistic. I'm stepping up the amount of fiber I use and I'm hoping that will help shake up a weight loss for me.

Bandit, I'm so glad you're chiming in, and thanks for the recipe.

Princess, I'm glad your P.T. is coming along and please don't overdo the gym.
We're all getting back on track after the holidays.

Turtles--
Take care, be well and chime in often. INVU and NEWYEARNEWME, how are you doing? Chime in if you can.

Morning ladies... hope all is well with everyone and that you are staying warm...

The scale is starting to go down just a bit so that is a good thing. I went to the gym on my way home from work yesterday... did a slow mile on the treadmill and an even slower two miles on the stationary bike but at least I am moving and getting back into the habit of going to the gym, even if it is only a couple of times a week to start.

I think that I make this plan way harder then it really is sometimes, after all, it is just about the easiest diet I have ever been on... eat your points, walk a bit, drink your water, and the weight comes off... pretty simple when I don't let myself get in the way of myself

PT today, ugh! Stands for physical therapy but anyone that has gone thru it knows the real meaning is "Pain and Torture"

Keep the faith turtles, spring will be here before we know it!

Have a happy day!

Okay Princess,
You win! Thanks for sending such an encouraging message even though you're dealing with pain and torture. And thanks for reminding us--even though you were talking to yourself--that WW's is simple. It's true it may not always be easy, but the ideas are simple. Drink water, record what you eat, stay within your points, add movement to your day, and voila!!!!! you're doing it.

Cherry, we hear you're in a tough place right now. Have you thought of checking with your doc about your meds? Also, don't beat yourself up. Each day is a new day. I'm sending you a

Bandit, that Chicken Fiesta was awesome. As a matter of fact, I had to wrap up the rest of it and freeze it because I was afraid I'd eat the leftovers and that'll get me no place. So thanks for the recipe.

Hey guys--onward and downward for me. I lost .4# today. It's not what I wanted, but the scale is moving down. Now I have a big decision to make.
I think to shake things up I should go back on Core, but I have enjoyed the extra food items on Flex. I need to give this good thought, but for today I'm doing fine.

You all take care and be well. Chime in when you can.
