Unhappy I'm tired of low carb

I've been on atkins for about a month now and yes I've had success but
I reallly miss eating things like apples, oatmeal, bread, fruit, popcorn
in other words all the foods that are off limits.

Now, I am planning on re-joining weight watchers but I'm alittle
scared about re-gaining the weight I lost seeing that summer is
so close I don't want to shoot myself in the foot but I do want to
reach my goal weight by my birthday(30 pounds by sept).

It won't be the end of the world if I don't but I just don't want
to backslide.

I'd be tired of low carb too!!

WW is a great program. And even if you gain a pound or two back from carb shock, you'll lose it again.

And that pound or two is better than living with a diet you dislike. If you dislike it, you won't stick with it. I think it's better to switch now than wait till you're so deprived of the things you want that you go on a binge

GOOD LUCK!!

Catcookie, I'm currently doing WW and I've lost almost 30 lbs in 12 weeks. I've tried every single diet out there and so far WW is what works best for me b/c there is no food that's off limits. It's always good to know that you have that option.

I realized that I had to pick something I could live with for the rest of my life if I truly wanted to lose weight for good. WW teaches you portion control which is really important, plus they have two plans now, flex & core. Core allows you to eat without counting as long as you stick to the list. I'm doing the other one.

It's basically the same as counting calories only with points, it's somewhat easier to keep track, plus most veggies are 0 pts, so even if you have a bad day and use all your points by lunch, you can still have a huge 0 pt salad or they also have 0 pt veggie soup.

Most of the time I eat healthful foods anyway, but once in a while I have to have that piece of chocolate, and I'm happy to know that yes, I can have it!

Good luck to you!

I've been bouncing back between WW and lowcarb for 6 years now, and have 15 pounds (gain) to show for it. I lost 30 pounds on low carb, and then my stress level at work changed and I went back to normal (very bad, snacky) eating. I've never been able to do strict low carb since. It works, and I feel terrific when I'm on it. When I go back to WW, I'm fine for a couple of weeks, and then notice that I'm buying nearly ALL carbs: bread, hamburger rolls, English muffins, graham crackers, etc etc etc. Not to mention the junk food! (all within points, of course, but I don't lose) That's not WW fault, but mine, of course.

I'm trying it again -- using what I've learned from low carb (cut the white bread carbs, no junk foods even if it "fits". What is wonderful about WW is that you can use it as a basic structure (balancing points and activity points) and work on healthy eating within that structure. That's what I'm trying to do now.

think about south beach! you get apples, oatmeal, popcorn. and the weight loss in the first 2 weeks (the strictest phase) is GREAT! i love it and don't think of it as dieting......it is just a way i can eat well and still keep the weight off.

Thanks Guys!

I'm not really working out that much so I'm hoping if I bump up my
exersize I would gain it all back and keep losing. I won't be upset
it I don't reach my goal for my birthday. I'm shooting for eating
balanced and healthy and if I reach my goal by the end of the year
then it will be a super christmas present to myself.

For the first time in my life, I have found a eating plan that has worked for me, South Beach! I couldn't do Atkins because I wouldn't give up all my carbs! Weight Watchers required too much planning for me & I always felt hungry. You just have to find your niche. SBD isn't no carbs- it's good carbs!
I am on day 9 phase 1 and lost 10 lbs and haven't felt hungry at all!!!!! Haven't been in the gym yet either. SBD just fits in with my & my familes life nicely.
No matter what you choose to do, stick with it. Remember you are stronger than that cup cake!!
