Default Banking Points - Don't Get It

Can someone please help me understand how the banking thing works? Maybe it's not on the new system - I'm just now coming back after a pregnancy and trying to lose a little but can't remember how the bank points work. Is there a maximum number of points I can bank and use during one sitting OR are there other rules to follow.

For some reason the number 10 sticks with me as if maybe I'm allowed to only bank 10 points a week to use at one dinner. Appreciate any advice!

Congrats on the baby!
Banking is easy. You can "bank" any unused or earned points for 1 week. then you loose them. You can use them for a special occation or for a treatYou can use them over a few days or at one meal. For example, if you have banked 3 points today, you can use 1 extra for the next 3 days or use them all at once. you choose. The catch is you are only supose to bank up to 10 points.

Just a point of reminder. if you are nursing you will need extra points anyway to be able to feed the baby.

good luck,
-L

Default Banking Points

Sandi: You bank points off the top of your range. The concept is that we all have a 5 point range to eat in. (Even nursing mothers have a 5 point range.) What you do to bank is eat at the lower to mid part of your range (that is, you're not eating the max points every day) and SAVING those points for another occasion. You can save up to 5 points a day for 2 days in a row or 2 points a day for 5 days. Either way you get 10 points. You can then spend those points any way you wish -- but they must be spent in the week they are earned.

I typically tell my members that on weigh in day, if they haven't used their points, they lose them and start again.

Here's an example == you are eating between 28-33 points (your range) and your weigh in day is Sunday. On Monday, Wednesday and Thursday, you have saved 15 points by eating only 28 points for each of those days (3 days x 5points). On Friday, you go out to dinner. You now have 43 points you can spend for eating on Friday. However, you may NOT use the 15 points. You may only go over your max points by 10 on one day...(33 plus the 10)

So, you have your 43 points on Friday (and can divide them up however you want and eat them however you want. WW lets you use those extra points as the "treat" for the realities of life because none of us has totally given up the stuff we love (we just eat a whole lot less of it now and bank for it!). You use the 10 points as a dessert that night, or you can have 3 bigger meals during the day.

On Saturday, you can then use the extra 5 if you want to, and have a 38 point day. However, if you don't use them, you lose them, and on Sunday, weigh in day, they are gone, and you start fresh. Hope that's clear... If not, write back and I'll try again. Good luck with the darling new baby!

You are supposed to eat the minimum points each day any points between what you eat and the maximum can be banked. You can bank 5 points a day on Winning Points (not including exercise points which you can bank) and 7 points a day on 1-2-3. You can only use a maximum of 10 banked points in any one day but you needed use all the 10. You can use banked points more than once a week if you have them.

Points expire. Normally people let them expire at the end of their W/W week however you can also do a rolling bank for the past 7 days.

Sandi: If you've read mine and Kelly_S's response it should be clear to you (also, never never eat below the minimum number of points for your range. Always eat AT LEAST the minimum -- the lowest number.) If you don't understand and of this, please write back and we'll clarify.

I am a bit confused about this. I am in the UK doing Pure Points, and maybe that is different from what you do in the US. I am on 28 points a day, and am told that I can bank up to 4 a day, and that they expire after a week. I can also bank up to 10? or 12? bonus points.

But I have not come across the idea of a 'range' except on these boards. Is my range 24-28 ie my max less the number bankable? And do I have to eat 24 a day? And, final question, if I 'bank' some points do I have to eat them up?

I think it all comes down to the range idea.

Any advice would be welcome.

UK's plan is different than the States & Canada. Sorry I can't help you with the banking where you are.

lilacglitter - you may be in the same neck of the woods as me

The UK programme does not have a range (shame!) and from what I can remember, you can bank 12 saved points, but they must be used within your week, if you don't use them, you lose them, just like leader said. Hope this helps
