Default WW Scale Question?

I started WW last Thursday and am working hard to keep within my points and stick with the program. Today, after 15 years of refusing to own a scale, I broke down and bought one of those WeightWatcher's scales that Conair makes. Do any of you know how accurate they are?

I only ask, because if it is correct, I have lost 3.4 pounds since last Thursday!! I have tried for over a month to lose the weight on my own and didn't lose a pound (per my doctor's scale and then my first weigh-in at WW). I sooooo want to believe this is true!

Are any of you familiar with this scale and it's accuracy?

Any scale can be accurate and any scale can be inaccurate.

You need to ensure it is calibrated (read the directions that came with it).

Then test it with a 5 or 10 pound bag of sugar or flour or a hand weight.

It also helps to weigh yourself consistently at the same time, same clothes on the same scale in the same location. It's not really accurate to compare a reading on one scale to the reading on another. You can't really accuratley compare your weight at the meeting and your weight at home until you have compared how they vary. My home scale always weighs a pound more than my WW meeting scale. I took a few weeks to make sure this was correct by weighing myself before and after my meeting and comparing it to the "official" WW scale. So I know when I step on my home scale I am probably around 1 pound less at my meeting. Also my scale (it's digital) can very by up to two pounds just by moving it a couple inches on the floor. I have a spot marked on my bathroom floor to accuratley place it in the same location every time. Weight can vary by time of day, clothing, whether you've peed or not, so to get a accurate reading you should keep things as much the same as you can.

Like Kelly said weighings oemthing you know the weight of can help you calibrate your readings.

I have the WW scale and it seems to be pretty accurate to me, but you've got to keep it in the same position. Don't move it around a bunch.

You probably have lost 3.4 pounds. I lost 5 lbs my first week with WW and my mom just started and has lost 4.5 lbs her first two days.

WW is awesome and you are doing fantastic!!!!! Believe your scale, be happy with your results and get ready for more weight loss!!! We're proud of you!!! :-)

Well, it must be pretty accurate, because I had my first weigh-in yesterday (a couple of days early - went to a different meeting) and I had lost 5.2 lbs!!!

Now, my only problem is to not obsess about it and only get on it once a week. It's wonderful to finally see results after trying so hard for months (without WW) and getting nowhere.

My girlfriend actually bought a ww scale same thing happened it's not the same as when we weighed in. It was off a couple of pounds!
I try not to weigh myself until my meeting, I also started with measuring my thigh, waist, arm, hips. To see the difference on inches I lose,b/c my pants r way loser then before.
I sugguest to measure ur self cause even if u dont lose pounds you might lose inches! Good Luck
