  • I was wondering what you guys plan on eating for Thanksgiving. Are you guys going to save your flex points for that day, or just take the day off? We always have a huge family reunion on Thanksgiving and Easter. My mother is one of 8 children, so I have over 30 cousins and about 12 second cousins, not to mention all of the in-laws.....you know, the big Catholic family . Not everyone will be there, but there is always A LOT of food. I will not be cooking, so there is no telling what the points value is going to be of the various foods. I may just need to make my own Thanksgiving meal there . I love the holidays, but at the same time there is just so much temptation. Let me know what you guys are going to do. Thanks!
  • Hmmm, that's a good question. I think I'm going to take Thanksgiving Day off, but make sure I don't use any of my flexpoints before Thursday. I'll also try to fill the majority of my plate(s!) up with veggies, and other lo-cal foods. I think I read this quote here, at 3FC, and it is so true: "Christmas (or Thanksgiving, in this case) is only one day not a whole week". So, I'll get right back on track the next day-because we owe that to ourselves!
Thanks for making me think ahead, UFSeniorGirl!

  • I thought I was going to use my flex points... but I think I will Take that day off but still becareful. Your right Thanksgiving and Christmas is only one day..:-)
  • Irishmolly, I never really thought about it that way, thanks . I am just the type of person whom will do really great on a diet, but then when I splurge I end up spiraling out of control. I keep telling myself, "Well, I already messed up my diet and ate that brownie, I mine as well have a double cheeseburger at McDonalds." Logically it doesn't make sence, but I make myself believe it does. I was just worried that if I do eat poorly on Thanksgiving (and Christmas, for that matter) that I will just continue to eat bad afterwards. Thinking of it as a one day thing will really help me get back on track the next day. Thanks!!!
Also, good idea about the low cal foods and the veggies. By the way, my family is Irish too . In other words, we all love to drink (the Catholic part plays a large role in this as well), so that is going to be a large part of my calorie consumption . I am going to stick to Michelob Ultra, and not go for all of the various mixed drinks with sugar in them.
Thanks to you, and all of the support on this webpage, this is going to be the first time I can get through the holidays without putting on a lot of weight. Thank you everyone!!!
  • This sounds like just what I need!! I am up for a challenge! I would like to lose 20 lbs before thanksgiving. I will be going home and would love to surprise everyone.

My goals to accomplish this are:

    1-Bite it write it!
    2-Drink 6-8 8oz glasses of water a day
3-exercise, exercise, exercise run(3 days per week) weights(2days per week)

Together we can all do this!! Good luck to all!

NOTHING TASTES AS GOOD AS THIN FEELS!!!!
  • I will be staying op for thanksgiving the first time i went on weight watchers to lose weight to help me get pg with my son i stayed on plan weighed my turkey and ate veggies I figure if i want a sweet treat when hubby and my lil boy after pumpkin pie or whatever I make that day I can have a piece or 2 of the weight watchers candy. or a sugar free pudding cup i find that just as satisfying I am going home in march and hoping I can make it to my goal weight by then i weighed 176 yesterday on my home scale I always weigh more on ww scales which drives me nuts but, i also know that my starting weight on my ticker is by my home scale so ifi go by that i have lost 102lbs but, for my ticker i always use what weight watchers weighs me at which would you do use the starting home weight and use what i get on my scale at home or just go by what weight watchers scale says I weigh every week do you think its possible to lose 53lbs by the middle of march? I stay on plan and excercise everyday well all but, monday the day before weigh ins.
  • Huntersmommy, congrats on losing so much thus far!!! You are such an inspiration . How long did it take you to lose that weight? Losing 53 pounds by the middle of March can be accomplished. I plan on losing 52 more pounds by the end of March, and I keep telling myself I can do that . Good luck!!!

Edit: I forgot to tell you guys my reward for losing 22 pounds by Thanksgiving. It will definately have to buy some new clothes for myself. I will be down a size by then, so none of my clothes now will fit me (I am a size 18 and I will be a 16 by then). I have plenty of smaller sizes from before and while being pregnant, but it is always nice to treat yourself to some new clothes. I can't wait for this pregnancy weight to be gone (it's already been a year and a half since I had my daughter, so I have no excuse).

  • Hello everyone. I am new to this thread, but not to 3FC. I've been here for 3 years off and on. I lost 33 pounds at one time, but had another baby and gained it all back, so now baby is almost 2 and I feel ready to get myself back healthy again. My starting weight is 218. My current weight is 209.4. My goal weight is 155. I am almost 5'9" tall so I think 155 would be a healthy weight for me.

I just started flex points. I opted not to join a group. I don't have the time to go weigh in and all that. I looked into joining the online WW but don't have the extra money. All I want it for is the online food calculator, but it will have to wait until I can get the extra money.

I bought the books off ebay, and I know my starting point range and I think I understand the flex points.

I am a 31 year old single Mother with 4 children. I am a Head Start teacher, and I love my job. I have a boyfriend, (the kids dad) but things between us are rocky at best. I live on my own, and am barely supporting us all. My Mom helps me out alot.

I have a 10% goal by Christmas that's 20 pounds. I would weigh 189...Whatta Christmas present to give myself! Everything will be too big! I will be able to hand back that huge sweater to my hateful MIL and say it's tooo big!!! Oh I'd love it!

This week is "**** week" for me. It is my fall break, so with all this extra time. I have no excuse but to get out there and work my fanny off. For the next seven days I have to work out daily for an hour. That's my goal...I hope I can stay with it.

I will pop in again soon...
  • Hey ladies-
How was your weekend? Mine was good-but I always eat too much on Saturdays and Sundays. I think I have too much free time on my hands. I'm running around, working, going to class on the weekdays, and unfortunately my mind has been trained to eat to relax on the weekends. I definitely need to work on my weekends.
My scale says I'm down one pound, so that makes me happy.
I have my aerobics class in a little bit, so best be on my way!
    Take care!
    Molly
  • Well, no loss for me at WI yesterday. But, I kinda forgot because Wednesday is my usual WI day and I had a big glass of water before leaving work. We'll see what happens next week.

Hope everyone else is doing better than me!
  • I weighed in this morning at Weight Watchers. like i said my ticker is going by the weight watchers scale regardless of the fact that my starting weight is by my homescale and my homescales say I weigh less than weight watchers and its the same scale I weigh myself on daily since the starting weight anyways according to weight watchers scale this week I lost 2.4lbs so whoo hoo. I'm going to walk my 2 miles here in a little bit. how is everyone else doing?

I have no idea about what I am going to cook. I sort of want something different, but on the same lines of thanks giving dinner. And a lot healthier too. I don't want to pick up the weight that I have lost. If anybody has any ideas, I would love to hear them
