Sherry - you do aim high, don't you! Good luck! My friend has a gazelle and loves it. Hope you like it too.

Joining the Y M C A today!!!!!!!!!!!! Yippee! I have wanted to for over a year, but we had to wait until we paid off a debt first. DH gave me the okay on Friday. On Saturday, I learned about a special offer waiving membership fee w/ doc's statement. So, I got the statement yesterday and I'm joining today! Yippee!

I plan to sign up for their Ready to Be Fit program. You meet with a trainer that sets up a 12 week program that is just for you. If I can't meet with the trainer today, I plan to do 1 mile on treadmill, 1 mile elliptical, and 30 min in circuit room. Should be about 1 hr total.

I looked back in my journal last night and confirmed that I have only lost 5# in the past 10 weeks or so. I know I can do better. My points are okay, so I'm thinking exercise will be the key!

I've been a bit of a slacker so far this week. Ok, it's only Tuesday. I walked a mile yesterday and then was so hot and tired, I did do much else. Today I swam for 20 minutes -- OK I actually treaded water while moving my arms with foam things under the water -- it's active, but not laps.

I also did 4 loads of laundry, cleaned out 2 litterboxes, and cleaned the kitchen. How many exercise points is that?

I just got lots of new exercise dvds for my b-day (which was last week) -- but have been too lazy to try them...

Natcat - every little bit you do does count!

I did 25 minutes of yoga this morning -thought I would rotate that with the pilates.

How is that Gazelle? It looks fun in the commercials...or maybe it's just Tony that looks fun...

I walked to and from the chiropractor's office today -- so that was 2 miles. And then I did a Tae Bo video that I checked out from Netflix -- that kicked my butt! OMG, I barely made it to the end. And I definitely can't keep up when they are kicking and punching in cardio mode! Billy Blanks is awfully cute, though -- good incentive to maybe find an easier workout to try...

Melanie, Good luck with the trainer today (and those miles)!

Sherry, Good for you 30 mins on the gazelle? Ha I have one of those "dust" collectors! Do you get a good workout on it? I just dont feel I get as good a workout than walking outside. Maybe I will dust it off and use it IN EXCESS of my morning walks. Hmmmmm.

Natasha, Good for you walking to the chiro office! I have a few tapes that I dont use either. Hmmmm makes me think of how much weight loss stuff I have spent money on!

Melanie, as for the 10lb loss.....that is better than 10 up huh? However, I too am battling a few lbs I "lost" and have since refound. I looked at my journal (mind you I have not been doing this even 1/10 of the time you have ) and cant figure out why other than a cheat so I have been really watching lately and bumoing up my 30 mins a day to 45. This is my first week and I am proud that I have stuck with it...it is so easy to just do 30 and go back in the house but NOT ME...I will DO 45!!! I WILL!!!! Ok, back to the loss. I went to the dr yesterday and have lost 27lbs by their scales since MAY28. NOT too shabby but not as well as I would have liked. I am buckling down and trying for 10 this month (Aug) however, will settle for 8 NO LESS. That will put me at 198 (which I havent been for sooooooo long) Good luck and let me know how that Y thing is going. ALSO, what is this dr note thing? They GIVE you a membership? I know I could get my DR to write me one If It was "free" I would go! Let me know please? (I know it may have to do with just your Y but I am hoping not?)

KellyJo - It may just be our local Y, but the deal is that if you bring a doctor's statement that exercise will benefit your health (duh) they will waive the $90 membership fee and you just have to make the monthly payments. For me, it's $34/mth for a family plan, but a single plan is just $26. A really good deal compared to other gyms in the area! Ours offers a lot of different things and is just as good as any other more expensive gym, except you do have to deal with a lot of teenagers loafing. I'm excited to meet with the trainer today. I'll keep you updated!

Way to go exercisers!

I woke up late this morning so I had to settle for a quick 15 minutes of stretching exercises but I will take a walk at lunch today to make up for it

Yea, everyone seems to be doing great! Even 15 minutes is better than nothing. I'll be remembering to try to squeeze in my 15 minutes when I work 2 gigs on Saturday.

Today was a good walking day. Since I am a little sore from yesterday's Tae Bo adventure, I decided just to walk -- added about 10 minutes of jogging into the mix -- I have some really good music on the MP3 player -- and did 2 half hour sessions -- one in the morning and one this evening.

Netflix said they sent me a Firm workout -- so I might get that tomorrow... strength training is something I definitely NEED to do.
