Talking

Good morning on this beautiful Thursday morning everyone! Can you tell I am in a better frame of mind. I had a very OP day yesterday, and it wasn't a huge struggle. If I can just get a few in a row again, I KNOW I can gain that momentum back.

Sheri...Congrats on being in the "under 200" club! That is my short term goal. Something about being out of those 2xx's is a great feeling. You worked hard for it....give yourself a big pat on the back!

Kim....glad to hear you are feeling better.

Loodie....Glad to see another poster joining us. It's been a little quiet lately....so help us get it going

Cynthia....Well girl, tonight is the night. Personally, I know a kid that play Bantum Hockey, and I suggest we put him in Roy's place for tonights game! Don't you love the way we always have the answers....but we aren't down doing it!!

To anyone else I missed, please forgive me....I am rushing out the door to work. Hope everyone has a great day, and will check in later.

Hi Everyone!

I've been lurking and I thought I would stop in to say hi. I just realized that I fit into this thread, it's funny how the mind works, I still think of myself 100 pound heavier.

I'm a 44 year old wife and mother with another 150 lbs to lose. I just reached my 100 pound goal and feel healthier and happier than I could ever explain.

After reading the posts it really is amazing that we all have the same issues and battles, but I know we can all do this and if its OK I would like your support too. Of course I will offer back the same.

Have a great OP program day, and I look forward to becoming a regular on this thread too.

Welcome Brenda! I am in awe as to your great success this far! Was the 100+ pounds you lost doing WW? And how long have you been on WW? Anyone who has lost that amount of weight can certainly lend us all some great advise I am sure. Looking forward to your valuable input....and we are all in this together, through the good and bad days. (I almost have day 2 back OP again down......and it feels great)

Just had to pop in again to say hi to Brenda. I just started with this thread a few days ago, but was lurking before that. I like this group of people. Congratulations on your loss so far.

Sheri, good job on staying under 200. I can hardly wait until that day comes for me. (only 58 pounds to go).

Sherry, great work staying on program. I have a little different view of that this time. I figure every day is on program, as long as I write it down. At least then I am able to see what I eat.

Kim, How's the asthma? It definitely would be tough to do regular exercise with asthma. My 16 year old stepson has it (but seems to be outgrowing it). Sometimes he really scares us when we wake him up. He has such a hard time breathing.

I did okay for this week's weighin. I lost 1.5 pounds. I am waiting for the plateau time, but hopefully it won't come for several more pounds.

Have a good week all.

Happy Friday:

Loodie: Thanks for the pat on the back and way to go on the 1.5 lose, that's GREAT.. Hopefully you won't hit a plateau for a bit but if you do don't let it get the best of you. Take your measurements so that if you plateau you can remeasure and see the inches, knowing the pounds will take care of themselves.

Sherry: Yes, I've been on WW since Sept 12, 2000, I was shocked to see that I had put on that much weight again. My 15 year old daughter got me started, but I'm doing this for me now. She has taken off almost 25 pounds and wants to get another 15 or so off. I love the program and for whatever reason my approach is very different this time, I haven't let bad weeks or bad meals get to me, I just make sure the next time I eat I make better choices and I WRITE IT DOWN..... I have a journals that go back to day one and I know that I will have to write down what I eat for the rest of my life if I plan to win this battle once and for all. I WILL DO IT, and so can you. Keep up the good work. My next challenge is to start with some sort of extra activity, that is a life style thing that will also keep me healthy for life.

Have a great OP day and Week-end!'

Welcome Brenda & Eat all the Time (I like that screen name):
If you read above, this past week was bad for me because my asthma has been a killer - and when I get sick I CRAVE orange juice!!! I must have had 1/2 gal OJ by myself.

BUT BUT BUT - I'm so excited today!!! I tried that Wendie Plan for the past week - my weigh in was this AM.... and I lost 4 lbs after staying the same for 3 weeks straight. SO EXCITED!!!! Actually it was 4.5 after the scale stopped fluctuating... but I told my leader to hold that .5 till next week when it's solid - it'll be my motivator. Get with the program/ stay with the program - it really does work even if it takes some of us longer to get there!

My husband is yelling for me to help him get dinner ready - so I need to run. Bye

Happy Saturday everyone.

Welcome Eat all the Time. My only advise is one day at a time. If I think long range, I find it overwhelming. Only focus on next week, and come here often for support!

Kim.....Way to go!!! 4 pounds! But what in the world is the Wendie Plan?? Glad to hear you are feeling better.

I am kind of excited and have a new focus to help me stay motivated. My husband and I were married almost 13 years ago in Las Vegas. It was just a ceremony with the 2 of us at the court house. We were dressed in street clothes. Now.....don't get me wrong, I never wanted a big wedding, that is not my style. But....we have no pictures, nothing to "remember" the day with. My 1st marriage lasted 12 years, so this October will be 13 years for husband # 2 and myself. That is a big deal to me for some reason......that I beat my first record (does that sound tackey!!??).....and more importantly...I am still very much in love with this one Anyway.....we are taking a family vacation in Sept., and we are stopping in Las Vegas for 2 days. We have a room for the girls (grown) and a suite for us. My husband had mentioned awhile back about renewing our vows, and then the subject kind of dropped. Well, I made reservations at The Little Church of the West in Las Vegas, rented a Limo for 4 hours, and me and the girls are planning a surprise "2nd" wedding for my husband!! We will keep it a secret, and then that night the "wedding" will take place at 9pm. I plan to take one of his good fitting suits to a formal wear shop and HOPE that from the measurements thay can rent me a tux, and I will buy a very nice white dress. I will convince him to go back to the hotel for a nap, then get up and shower on the pretext of going to dinner. I will already take my shower, and put my dress on while he is showering. I will have his tux layed out for him....and at this point, I am sure he will figure out what is going on. I am so motivated to be below 200.....which means I need to lose 30 pounds by the 1st of September. I can do it!! Thanks for letting me ramble....I am just like a real bride with the planning and such. <laughing> Hope everyone is having a great weekend. I am off to make oven fries to go with our Wendy's grilled chix sandwiches...and then watch the Avs!!!

Sherry

Sherry -- What an awesome surprise! I hope everyone can keep their lips sealed and not spoil it after all your planning. I'm sure you'll get those pesky 30 pounds off, too. Talk about motivation!

This is just a quick check in, Folks. I've been off and on the computer all weekend working on a project for my manager that has to be ready for a customer first thing tomorrow morning. She'd wanted me to work at the office this weekend but I said no way. I would have had to sit at a terminal for about 6 hours straight doing tedious, eye-straining work on some spreadsheets. By bringing it home, I was able to break it up into 1 and 2 hour segments and work it around my family time. Anyway, despite the "easier" way of handling it, my eyes are really tired tonight.

I went to WI yesterday -- Despite TOM (yes, he's visiting me, too. I think you all jinxed me there! (just joking) ) I lost 2.2 pounds for a grand total of 12.4 in 11 weeks! Yes, I'm patting my back again.

Oh, and the weathers has been absolutely marvelous this weekend. I even got in two walks and some gardening. The improved weather even motivated my daughter to do some housework to earn money for trips to the mall with her girlfriends when school lets out in two weeks.

Gotta go. Time to tuck myself in (or maybe I'll let hubby do it for me ).

Joanne.....congratulations on the 2.2 AND the total pound so far, that is awesome! I did so well this weekend, I guess I really do need things to keep me focused. I know in my heart that I am doing it for better health, but lets face it, vanity plays a big role in the weight loss. Right now that is what is my short term motivator......get those 30 pounds off by Sept. Well, I am off to work. I have to train someone today, and that always makes the day long since your little routine is out of wack. Hope everyone had a great weekend and lets all work on a very OP week!

Sherry - WOW what a great surprise for your husband!!!! It sounds like a great plan you have - and 30 lbs is a challenge but I think you can do it!!! Just focus, focus, focus.... Our anniversary is 9/12 and it's 14 years for us... goes by so quick. My husband would love a plan like yours... as long as it included at least 2 rounds of golf the following day I posted the Wendie Plan on it's own thread for anyone interested in trying it. I'm on my second week of it so we'll see.

Joanne - Great job 2.2 lbs!!! It was a great weekend wasn't it???? We opened our pool and swam the whole weekend. Hey - how does your daughter like her new room???

I heard from Cynthia via email - she's trying to stay away from the PC for the time being to focus her efforts on eating and exercising. I feel like her sometimes - I spend too much time talking about what I should be "doing" so that I waste precious time not in a physical activity. This week I'm online more because my asthma is still not under control - but once it is ... I'll be back out there walking nightly.

Sheri, Brenda, Linda, Eat - where are you girls??? Is this a struggling week or is everyone so active they don't have time to post?

Hope to hear from everyone...

Kim - Jennifer loves her new room. Of course, she'd love it more if it had a new paint job, new rug, recessed lighting in the ceiling, a sky light, new curtains and matching bed set . . . . As you probably remember from your younger years, teenage girls are seldom completely happy with their lot in life. This is a concept her father is having a really tough time swallowing (she's the only girl out of five children). Oh, well. He'll figure it out before she matures . . . in about 7-8 years!

Gotta run. Time to get the kids up for school.

HI gals,

Am still here lurking. Have been so busy. Will be glad when school is over next week. Am working on my daughter's 8th grade dinner/dance for Friday night. Son is wrapping up baseball and then all we will have is our daughter's summer soccer program which isn't too bad. Would love a night with nothing to do. Maybe then I'd get up the ambition to exercise!!

Sherry - I read over the Wendie plan. It does make sense, esp. when I have had so many weeks of perfection to just post a gain, and then the weeks where I may have gone over a day or two have a loss and wonder "what's up with this?"!! May have to give this a try.

Well, tomorrow is weigh-in. My goal right now is to stay under 200. Bet I'll have my "weigh-in suit" on tomorrow night.

Time for bed. Talk to you all soon. Sorry I don't have time to post individually.

Hi all, I haven't been very active at writing lately. I usually do this at work and my workload seems to have doubled lately with some very firm deadlines coming soon.

Joanne, do you still have all that stuff to do, or is Jennifer just wishing that you would do it. We redid an upstairs storage area 2 years ago for my S-son. He also has some of those types of dreams about what he would like it to be.

Sherry, I know what you mean about not having wedding pictures, etc.--We also had a really small wedding and missed having some of that. My husband would be very unhappy about being surprised with a renewing of vows though. I hope all goes well with your plans.

Kim, I am here and you were right about it being an active time.

I haven't had a chance to welcome you Eat--Welcome. Brenda, how is the battle going?

Sheri, good luck on staying under 200--you can do it.

Exercise!!! It is my second job . I live 3 miles from a beautiful state park that has a paved loop measuring 2.5 miles. I used to be able to walk around it in 45 min. without resting and that is my goal. (Course I'm about 25 pounds heavier than I was then). My dog is very good at encouraging Me to want to go for a walk at night. Anyway, I take him out there and we walk for 30-45 min. each night in the forest, along the river. Each night I walk a little farther in the same time.
A real plus is that sometimes my hubby comes along and we actually get time to talk without interruption.

A small request--my cousin's 8 yr old daughter (Allida) is having brain surgery today to remove some tissue that is believed to be causing her epileptic seizures. It is uncertain what other memories or activities that section really controls so the family is really nervous about this surgery. A small prayer for her would be greatly appreciated if you would.

Linda - I said a prayer for Allida - I do hope everything goes as planned and they find the answers they need to help her end the seizures. It's so hard when children have to deal with this type of procedure.
