What is wrong with me?????

  • Okay here is the deal! I have been on WW since Jan.7, of this year. I have lost 15 lbs. and I am still wearing all the same clothes! NONE of my clothes fit any different? What is up with that? I thought that it if I lost weight I would be wearing a smaller size. I am really confused by this, I mean am I going to continue to lose weigh and still be the same double digit size?? Whats the point?

  • It depends on the ratio of muscle to fat. Most of the weight loss in the beginning is water weight and that doesn't change your size much.

Do some weight/strength training and cardio to reduce the fat and increase the muscle.

BTW I lost 22 pounds with no size change then hit a plateau where the scale didn't budge but I lost 3 sizes.
  • It depends on how you are put together, too. I've been in discussions with people who drop a size every 10 pounds or so. I personally have lost 30-40 pounds and only dropped one size. I think that is most of your weight is concentrated around the middle you will change sizes faster than if it is evenly distributed or in the lower body, like me.
  • In the larger sizes, it's going to take more than 15 pounds to change to a smaller size.
  • It also can depend on how your weight is distributed. My weight is mostly in my lower body and I tend to lose weight up top first. I went down a clothing size in shirts before I did in pants and skirts.

At this point I know I will not lose more on top as I have a small chest, waist and flat stomach, so I am focusing my exercise on my lower body where I really need to lose the inches.
  • It will happen, I swear it will. I'm down 28.6 pounds, and just today discovered I'm down 2 sizes. But I swear that the size change happened only recently.

I promise, it will happen. I was getting darn frustrated after the first 15 pounds, too!
  • Thanks Ladies I appreciate the help! I am down another 2 lbs. this week and I am starting to notice it in my lovehandle area!
