Hello,

As you know, WW doesn't recommend "No carb" diets, but the new "Core plan" sounds like a WW friendly version of the South Beach diet or the Atkins. It allows you to eat food without counting as long as you are eating core foods and eat until you are satisfied. Also, carbs are limited to some extent. One great thing about the Core plan is that you are allowed 35 weekly Flex POINTS (actually they now call them "Weekly POINTS Allowance" or something complicated like that) to use on any splurge foods you want during the course of the week. I'm not too familiar with the Core program since I have had success with the Flex plan (and I'm not willing to give up my beloved carbs!!) but I think it's certainly worth researching. I really think WW is the best program out there. I've never met anyone who has joined WW and consistently gone to meetings who hasn't lost weight. Just stick with it and you'll be fine!!!

Good Luck!

Oh, I should also add that I've heard in my meetings that a lot of people have had really great success with the new Core plan. It's certainly worth a try if you ask me, and you can do one week Core and the next week Flex if you feel like it.

Actually they are not touting the Core Program as lowcarb but if you look at it is really is a lower carb program. W/W has always had a lower carb version if you looked at all the PointsPies.

wow, thanks guys! yeah, i might give core a shot, i dont know. i think giving up carbs helps eliminate the unnecessary snacking that causes me to eat more, so sometimes giving it up is a good thing for me. the binges will bite you in the ***, however. i may do the alternate - one week core, the other flex.. thats a good ida!!
thanks guys

Hey, guys, you need to do a little more "Core" homework. Carbs are not limited and we get plenty of whole grains and fruits. We can have potatoes or brown rice or whole wheat pasta once a day. We can have cereals. Come give us a try - you'll love it. I've lost 12.6 pounds in 4 weeks.

Susan, If you really look at Core IT IS A LOWER not LOW/ELMINATE CARB diet or weight loss plan. It stresses the complex carbs and limits some carbs to 1 meal a day.
