Lisa -- I'm hoping that puppy will stall somewhere off the Atlantic (away from Bermuda of course). This is has been a bad hurricane year for sure and the season is still underway.
Make sure you have everything tied down and lots of food and water and bird food.
Lisa: Thoughts & prayers are with you in hopes that your area is spared & Frances loses steam.
I went for my WI today at lunch after following Core for a week and was down .8--I guess that's better than nothing at all but I wanted more! *stamping foot* Once a members, always a member.
I am munching my lunch of whole wheat pasta (maybe more than I need), fresh tomato sauce, fresh pesto (no nuts, v.little oil) and a little parmesan. yummm.
I love core.
rainy here and I guess our little ex-neighbors are a bit prissed at us. I went out to the garden yesterday and there was a wicker lawn chair thrown over the fence and into one of our beds. If it had hit my Paeonia mlokosewitschii, I would have killed someone. That thing has been in the ground for 7 years and only started blooming a few years ago. DP found a can of old olives and a madonna in our garbage can today. SHe's going to redeposit these treasures on their front steps.
Lisa I hope Frances doesn't make it to land. You're in my thoughts and prayers. Please keep us posted.
Melissa I usually feel the same with small loses..you want more..but small is good.
Lala I thought of you today as I went to my sons new apartment to drop off some things. At least the apartment complex he lives in is all students so I don't have to worry too much about him being inconsiderate to his neighbors. After looking around his new "hood" I don't think I would want to live there. Too noisy and messy for my liking. I truly hope it works out well for him and I hope you don't get more students living next to you. I like DP's idea about redepositing the trash.
DP also said that the four unrelated people she saw milling around last night are indeed the new tenants. Oh joy. They look like they have real furniture and jobs, so that is a plus.
Like I said, our housesitter has the number of the landlord on speeddial.
Pam, my parents felt the same way about my first place away from home. They gave me 550 bucks and told me that was going to cover rent, heat and food. It was pretty painful, but good practice. We froze to death, but we never went hungry.
neighbor update : the painted the living room a color much like ours and the dining room orange. Really orange, then again, our front hall is something like pumpkin, so I can't complain, except that we have the wood floors that make it work.
They seem nice enough, I asked them if we could switch car locations -- there is a strange parking ecology in our 'hood, they did. I think there may only be three living there...
Anyhoo, rained like the dickens last night, some of our gutters are clogged from birch pollen, DP dealt with it in the rain and its better now. Need to have someone come out and look at it.
Other than that, I feel lighter. If I can get my (&*((### proposals done by 9 am tomorrow, I'll send them off and go to my WW meeting... Still waiting for comments from my co-PIs.
Melissa-- you weigh in today, hoping for lighter vibes.
Lisa -- still keeping my fingers crossed you are okay.
Lala the neighbor situation sounds promising. Interesting, my living room could be described as a pumpkin/goldish sort of color. I wasn't sure at first if I would like it, but I really do, which is fortunate because the room is huge and I would hate to have to repaint again any time soon. You must be counting the minutes to your Paris vacation.
Lisa I've been thinking about you. There's been so much on the news about Frances. I hope you are OK.
Susan enjoy Bermuda
Melissa hope all is well with you.
Kind of a quiet day for me. I think a lot of people at work are taking a very long weekend. Who knows, for once I may actually be the only one there tomorrow. Not too much planned for the weekend. May go to a jazz festival on Sunday and possibly watch a golf tournament near Boston on Saturday. Eating wise, I will try my best to be good. Haven't started the core plan, fortunately I have been maintaining without too much effort but I must try and make more nutritious choices.
Well time to go, hope you are all well. Talk to you soon.
Weighed in this evening because I know it ain't happening tomorrow. Down 2.6# !
Pam -- my front hall is pumpkin. I do love it, but this is "orange"! Yikes. I am very excited, once I get all these proposals off my desk.
Try core, you'll like it. Sounds like a mellow weekend all around. I'll wave as I approach Logan.
Came home tonight to a message from our friend from Maine, she had to put down her dog today, v. suddenly. We're all quite torn up, she was quite the dog. Those with furry friends, give them an extra scritch for me, eh?
I had a long night at work and still not quite there. That along with the little things that are necessary, like calling the Paris hotel and asking why I am in a twin bedded room on my anniversary trip, cancelling other reservations, realizing that the links to my Paris eats are on maintenance, blah, blah, is sucking up my time....
Tonight I have tomato sauce canning to finish and hopefully enjoy a lovely meal of core type foods at our local burger joint.
Pam- try core, its not soo bad, if you don't have a problem with portion control.
