Thin4Life - Week of April 14, 2003

  • Hi everyone!

The last 2 weeks have been brutal in more ways than one. I'm glad this week seems to be off to a better start. I had a very productive weekend--got rid of lots of old clothes that I've been "saving" so now I can actually see what's in my closet

The weather here is gorgeous--it's a sunny 67 and tomorrow is supposed to be even warmer. I'm taking advantage and getting out for walks while I can. From what I've heard the temps are going to go downhill after Wednesday.

I bought Leslie Sansone's Walk Away the Pounds cassette tapes and listened to them while I was out walking on Thursday. I'm figuring that I'll start "walking" this evening. The workout sounds like it'll work good for me. We'll see.

So does everyone have plans for Easter? We're going to my sister-in-law's for dinner and I'm supposed to bring a side dish. I'm just trying to figure out what. We have off Thursday, Friday and Monday from work so it'll be nice being able to lounge a little. I'll probably ending up "flinging" some more clutter and hopefully make some more headway. It's amazing what I've hung onto.

    Hope everyone is doing well!
  • Hi, Melissa.

Please let me know what you think of the tapes. I'm interested in them.

Plans for Easter? We're thinking of getting together with some friends, but we have no definite plans yet.

Weather here has been gorgeous. I hope it continues for a while.

Yes, sometimes we get attached to our clothing and things. Kudos to you for throwing out some stuff.

It's a busy week with Easter coming and lots of church activities.

  • Hiya ladies,

    Melissa ---

I hear you on the flinging. I have a bag to take to value village on my way home and a pile of books ready for for the booksale.

However, the flinging in my closets is going to wait until DP is on her 10 day work cruise.

The kids are going to come over and find eggs on Saturday and on Sunday the adults are going to have brunch or an early dinner. We haven't decided.

Busy week here. Lots of meetings, thankfully all via video.

    Have a great week all!

  • Another gorgeous day here in PA...the temps are supposed to get up into the mid-70's here by the lakeshore and possibly even hit 80 further south. The downside is that the temps are supposed to go back down later in the week to the 50's & 60's. I'll take advantage as long as I can...another walk at noon today.

Domina: I used the 1 mile cassette last evening and I definitely worked up a sweat and got my heart rate up. I'm going to try the 2-mile later on this week. The 1-mile lasts about 15-20 minutes. I'm looking forward to getting the VHS tapes so that I can actually "see" the moves.

It's been busy here at work so the days are going by pretty quick. My boss is off tomorrow so I'll be able to get more stuff caught up and out of the way before we leave for our Easter break. I'm looking forward to the time off.

I'm hoping my WI tomorrow is good; last week I was down a little even with TOM so I'm hoping this week will be better. The only thing that could snag my progress are the dratted potato chips that have been beckoning me in the evening.
  • Melissa, thanks for the info about the WATP tape. I really like to walk, so that's why I'm interested.

It's TOM and I've been on an eating frenzy. So, it's potato chips for you? Well, it's Fritos for me and I don't know why. I like Fritos, but not as much as I've been devouring them. Oh well, I need to get serious. Oh yeah, it's Easter--chocolate bunnies beckon. Maybe next week!!

  • Another beautiful, sunny day here. The day started out with temps a balmy 74 early this morning and by lunch time it had dropped to 59...good thing I brought my coat with me. I did get out for a short 10-minute walk this morning before work.

I went to my meeting at noon and posted a .2 loss, which is good considering the run in I had with the potato chips. My next challenge will be being off work until next Tuesday--it's so easy to get off track when I'm at home and not on a regular schedule. My plan is to journal, eat regular meals, and do my WATP tapes.

    Have a Happy Easter/Passover everyone!
