Heather-

Congratulations. I think you showed great restraint. I have light English muffins at breakfast. They're only 1 point and you can do a lot with them. I like light cream cheese and alfalfa sprouts on them. You can also use them for egg & cheese sandwiches. If you use egg substitute and 2% cheese, its only 3 points.

Hi everyone, I restarted WW again last night after about a 1 year absence. I lost 40 lbs with weight watchers and as some else said in the thread, life got in the way (vacation, holidays) and I thought I would just do it on my own without going to the meetings, but I gained 15 lbs and went to TOPs for awhile. I lost 20 lbs there but without a structured plan I just kept hoping week to week to different plans and ended up gaining 15 back.
I enjoyed the points system before and don't know why I ever quit in the first place!!
I hope you don't mind me joining your thread. I could use the support.
My husband joined WW with me last night. He weighs 1 lb less than I but he will lose faster since he is a guy, but it will be fun to have him do the program with me.
I never really realized how much I was eating each day until today. I have 7 points left and 5 hours till bed. I am definitely a night time snacker so I have a challenge ahead of me. But I am glad to be getting a reign on my eating.

Hello!! Congrats on the previous weight loss, and best of luck to you on the new journey !! I'm also returning to WW after a break (about 2.5-3 years for me!! lol .. I've probably gained about 10 or so back from when I quit, but I've done it before, so I know if I stick to it, I can do it again !! My BF's going to be "semi" on the plan with me lol .. he won't be keeping track of points, but he'll be eating meals I cook, etc ... so hopefully it'll be good for both of us, as well as you and everyone else here trying to lose weight!

Best of luck to ya!! See ya around the boards.

This thread seems to be very popular. It is amazing how many people are successful on WW but quite before they get to goal or get to goal and then gain it all back. I wonder why we do that? I have decided to give the Core plan a try. I will still keep my portion the same as on winning points but I don't have to weight or write it down (unless I want to) Anyway,I am going to give it a try and if it doesn't work I can always go back to winning points (didn't like flex--at 22 points I couldn't have as much fruit or milk that I wanted cause it took up too many points). Guess I felt like if I used my flex points during the week I wouldn't have enough for the weekend.
The car show/Cruise In was rescheduled for tonight. Since I am on the Core program I don't think anything at the Chicken Place will be on plan so I am going to make a big smoothie with ff yogurt/banana/strawberries and drink it on the way. I have a trail mix in 3pt. bags that I will take just in case I need it and use the flex points for that. I know that is what some people have against the Core plan (eating out) but I don't mind. It's just ONE meal in a whole week/month/year of meals so what does it matter?
Good luck everyone and let's have an OP day!

Good Morning -

Welcome restarters. This is is my 2nd week back.

Ruth - Night time snacking was always a problem for me. I've tried to establish an evening ritual to combat that. When I'm finally sitting down , watching TV and relaxing I have a cup of sugar-free cocoa(sometimes 2). Its only 1 pt a cup and it can be very satisfying. If I'm still up after that I have a mug of chamomile tea. This routine seems to tell my brain that the kitchen is closed for the night. If I find the grazing gremlins are still grumbling I go to bed and read.

Hockeychik - You're wise to tackle this now. 10 or so can easily turn into 50 or so. I know firsthand.

Janette - Good luck with the Core plan. I know I'm not adult enough to handle it.Have fun at the car show. All your planning I'm sure will keep you OP.

My sister came in last night from Michigan. She'll be here for a week. Tonight we'll be going downtown for a free concert(Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes!).Temptation will be easy to resist as concessions are expensive. This weekend is the Irish Festival and that will be a challenge. I will have to avoid the Guinness altogether but I am plotting many saved points and lots of exercise so I can indulge in their sinfully delectable potato chowder. Keeping busy should help distract me from food. These next few weeks will be hectic so I just have to resist the urge to "grab something quick"-translation: fast food. I will have to plan plenty of accessible low point food. I made veggie soup on Monday and its great for those nagging afternoon hunger pangs. Time to go cruise the recipe and food threads for ideas!

Everybody have a great day.

I am thinking about restarting WW again also, after low carbing most of the last year. I just can't eat another egg or burger without bread. So here goes......................

P.S. What is this Core Plan???

Hi My name is Susan I am starting WW for the 3rd time, 3 times the charm right??
I am 40-50 pounds over weight but I am tall and have a large frame. I want to lose down to a size 12 reguardless of how much I weigh. I need a lifestyle change because I have Diabetes breathing down my neck it seems most of my family have gotten this late in life, and my dad just had open heart surgery last Friday and I am terrified. I have to make a change, I am 35 yrs old and it isn;t getting any easier. I would appreciate any tips and encouragement I could get and I will return the favor. Good Luck to all and keep up the GREAT work.

Kristie, if you do not mind I would love to ask you a few questions? My ultimate place to go before I die is Australia. Living her in the states I do not know a whole lot about Australia. I was never aware that you had a different summer than we did. We never learned that in Geography. We have summer usually from June till August. Mid September begins fall.

How are your summers? Mine here on the east coast can be hot & humid maybe a hand full of weeks but mostly 80's.

I am sorry to bother you, but I have always love Australia, and I know nothing about it. Something to look into.

As for your failed attempts, I must included myself in that one. I know the Flex Point program by heart, I know how many point most food is. Not that that stops me from eating the high point foods, nor do I keep track. I begin everyday stated I will, and then get lost throughout the day. But I know our day will come. Best wishes to you and your new challenge. Peace be with you throughout your day.
