Default Here is another day to ......

good Morning to all youwonderful people/posters

Well, I have come close to goal, once many, many years ago. I was able to keep it off, through alot of exercising and planning my meals. However life changed for me. I married a junk food junkie, I still was able to maintain, untill I got pregnant and placed on bedrest in my 2nd trimester. Well that left my husband to feed up, we all can imagine what happened from there. Yup, 70lbs. Then a divorce another 50lbs.

I went back to WW a million times ssince, no success. Then I found this web site, I weigh in once a week with Weight Wackers under the WW clubs every sunday. This keeps me accountable and own up for my error.

We can all do this, and this is a great place for support.

Janette, & Kristin you have done this before, you can do this again

Kristin great job on OP for day 3. I am also doing WW at home. As for the weekends. Try to schedule yourself to be out of the house, sitting in a park reading a book, taking a walk with your husband, kids, or dog, visit friends or family with not treats, bring flowers instead. see a movie, sneak in your own, lite popcorn. Good Luck.

Welcome, Stell Blue congrats on the weight loss,
also welcome fifties lady, I feel you will both love this site, great people

Heather, have a great weekend, focus on the two of you, not the food. That is what it is all about. With that in mind, maybe you won't even think of food. have fun.

Merrick- Thanks for the advise. I will keep it in mind. My husband is very supportive and also tries to watch what he eats so things should be find.

To all the newbies---GOOD LUCK!!!!! Just remember this is a great place for support and you can do it!!!!!!!!

I bought a pedometer today for $4!!!!! It is a really neat little object and I need to step 5900 steps to burn 330 calories. But I took 100 steps from car into the office!!!

Everyone have a great day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Heather, I have one also and started using it again this week. I am up to 2.5 miles just from walking around the house, the field, at my son's football practice, to the beach, etc. It is cool Ihope you enjoy yours as much as I enjoy mine.

Have a good night.

I gotta get me one of those. I know I take a lot of steps every day but it would be interesting to see just how many. You can get one free with Special K but you have to buy 3 boxes. Don't know if I can eat that much Special K--it has no fiber to speak of! I love my raisin bran--with all the fiber the effect it has is almost like eating a zero point food!

I have been on point for 3 days. We go out to eat tonight at one of the worse places to go--a fried chicken place with limited choices. But it is the place where the car show is so I will just have to cope.

Have a good day everyone. We can do this!!!

Talking What a Day!!!!

Good Morning to everyone

Fifties: It is amazing how many steps we each do take in a day. I have even found myself parking further, to get in more steps. I really like it. It would probably be less expensive to buy one at a sports store than to purchase 3 boxes of special K. Cereal is so expensive. I like the Go Lean line of cereal. My favorite is the Go Crunch, and Heart to Heart. It is realy good mix in with FF yogurt, like a granola. Creamy and crunchy. Use your flex points tonight and try to get a little more exercise for extra points . don't let it ruin your time, you may become resentful, and then over indulge. Just be aware and have fun.

Hello to All~

In process of reading threads and want to actively participate as well.
In March 2002, weighed 320 pounds. By November 2002, I was 220 pounds, a 100 pound loss in 8 months, adhering to WW Program. Unfortunately, hit a slick of rough road, stopped going to my meetings and in these months, have climbed up to 305.1 pounds.

Do not have transportation at the present time, so cannot go to WW Meetings. I have tried South Beach and Atkins, lost a bit, but couldn't stay on those programs.

I am ever so grateful for this web site, I plan to weigh weekly and be accountable. Have my WW books and sliders, and journaling everything I put in my mouth, except water and no cal beverages. There is no time limit for me to shed my pounds.... I'm most curious to see how the pounds come off.

Good afternoon ladies!!!!

Darby - Welcome to the group!! You will find all the support you need to keep going right here. Just keep in mind you can do this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I hope everyone is doing fine today. I kind of had a little slip up. I was at the store getting gas and I had an instant craving for a hershey's chocolate bar. I ate 2 squares and thought, "WHAT AM I DOING?" I then threw the rest of it away and said to heck with cheating! The only person I am cheating is myself and I have done that way too many times.

I think tonight I will try a new recipe for Chicken in a Wine Sauce. A lady I work with makes it and it is great!!! Only 6 points per serving!!!

My husband and I are trying to get ready to leave on our trip so tonight will be a long night. Before we had Kayli (4 months old) we just picked up and went. Now with a little one it is not quite so easy. Grandma is keeping her and they have lots of fun things planned!!! I will miss her smile in the morning!!! Well, at 3:30 AM!!!!!!!!! Maybe one day we will get to sleep in a little later But she will only be little once and I intent to enjoy each day to the fullest with her!! She is a great inspiration to lose the weight, I want to be able to stick around and watch her grow up. And by golly I want to be a grandma some day!!!!!

Well, I must get back to work. Skipping the lunch hour so I can leave early today. I had a quick lunch of a grilled chicken breast, grapes, and a sugar free jello. Tasted great and really filled me up!!

Take care!!!!!!!!!

Hello everyone -

Janette - When I was going to meetings I remember the leader asking one of the members if she enjoyed the french fries she confessed to having at the fair that week. The woman hesitated and then, with a big grin, said "Yes!". Our leader pointed out that this was the healthier way to approach a "cheat". Guilt only makes us miserable and we usually regress when we feel this way. If you choose to indulge tonight, enjoy your transgression-savor that moment-then move on.

Darby - I too have been welcomed back into the fold and its a comfort. This is only my 4th day back OP but I already feel successful and don't feel like I'm on my own with this. This site is a great source of support. Together we can all do it!

Heather - Enjoy your adult weekend. It took my husband and I 14 years before we went away without the kids. Its great that your husband is so supportive. Stress at home often triggers me to reach for food. My family doesn't understand how tough this can be. I've allowed that to keep me from making this work in the past. Have a great time and don't feel guilty about the time from Kayli. Grandma's are excellent at spoiling babies. Besides, happy parents make happy babies.

Lynn - I've been doing the parking further away trick for a while. I think I'll get a pedometer as well. It would be encouraging to see that I'm not as sedentary as I often feel.

Yesterday I found myself getting hungry mid-afternoon. I fought it off with vegetable soup. This afternoon I was busy doing errands and housework. Now its almost dinnertime and I haven't felt the urge to graze. This old dog make yet learn a new trick(and get a clean house, too!).

Hope the night goes well for all.

-Kristin

Since it was pouring down rain when we got off work we didn't get to go to the car show. So we went to eat mexican food instead. I ended up with 15 points and a total of 28 for the day. Guess that isn't too bad.

Heather - actually you did the right thing by buying that candy bar. If that was what you were hungry for and were able to eat a couple of bites and then throw the rest away, you are getting there! That's the secret to maintaining--being able to be satisfied with a couple of bites of a "treat" and then walk away. Congrats!

Good Morning -

Janette - Sorry you missed out on the car show. I'm impressed that you were able to eat at a restaurant and stay in control. I've never done well with dining out. I even have a hard time at other people's houses.

Heather - You also impressed me with your ability to give in then walk away from temptation. I'm afraid I would dive in rather than just get my feet wet.

Im a little nervous about facing my 1st weekend back OP. Sunday shouldn't be difficult. The weather is supposed to be nice. My husband and I will go on a nature hike-not very gruelling but relaxing with the added bonus of wild blackberries at the end of the trail! Saturday everyone will be home. They'll probably want to watch movies. I guess I'd better have low points snacks planned so I'm not tempted. There's always plenty of housework to keep my hands busy and not reaching for food. I'll have to make sure I get moving early or it will be too easy to fall back into old habits. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. What are all of you doing for the weekend?

My 1st week weigh-in is Monday am. I've got to do this.

Good afternoon!!!!

I hope everyone is doing great today!! Even if you're having a bad time at just remember this....IT'S FRIDAY.....

AnnB - I totally agree with you, trouble starts when you don't journal. What I do to try and keep things in line is keep an "ideal" journal that keeps how I would like to eat then a journal of what I actually eat. This helps me to see where I am messing up and what I can do better.

Janette - Wow!!! 15 points for Mexican!!! That's Great!!!!!!!!!! What did you eat???

Kristin - Thanks for the advise. What is your veggie soup recipe. I could really use a good one!!!! My suggestions for you over the weekend is to keep busy. Do some housework, take a walk, wash the car, anything but sit in the house. Try to do some extra exercising. Just keep in mind that you don't want to blow 5 days of hard work and dedication on 2 days. What I try to do is eat my meals about the same time on the weekends that I do through the week. Also, try to make some low point snacks or eat a ton of broccoli or something without points!!!!

Well it's offer to lunch, (on Fridays I treat myself by eating out!!!) I think today will be Taco Bell.

Have a great day!!!!

Good morning everyone! The weekend is ahead of us. Good that we don't have to work, bad that the fridge is calling to us. My DH has a doctor's appt today so we will have to go to "town" which means shopping which means eating out again for lunch! Hope I can convince him to eat somewhere there is a salad bar. Love a big plate of veggies--it's protein I have a hard time getting, unless it is CHEESE! Could eat my weight in cheese--wait I think I have that's why I'm here.

Heather, I found that mexican food is the one thing I CAN eat out on points! It's the steak places that I have a problem with. I usually leave a little of the rice and beans on my plate. You gotta stay away from the enchiladas and such. I also like the spinach quesadilla but Thursday night was fijita special for we got fijitas for two. That way DH can eat the bulk of them! I estimated the chips according to the same amount of packaged chips.

D 1 chicken fajita 4
beans 2
rice 4
gucamole 2
chips 3
15

I'm kinda new and haven't had time to look at all the old messages but does anyone ever post a daily menu page where everyone puts down what they have for that day? It might be a good way to give some of those whose are new to the program to see how others use their points.

Arrggh!! My computer just deleted everything I just wrote. Is this an omen for the day to come?

Its Saturday and the unmotivated monster is rearing its ugly head. I had breakfast- banana, lite eng. muffin, 2% cheese, & egg(6pts). Now I'm feeling aimless and restless at the same time. I figured if I post here I could find some direction. Its my 6th day back on OP. As Heather said, I've worked too hard for 5 days to blow it now. BTW Heather, that soup I had was canned-I believe it was Campbell's Chunky. I find if I have quickie foods available I'm less likely to stray.

Yesterday , on another thread, someone mentioned exercising to the Olympics. I liked that idea so I cleaned off the treadmill(does that count as workout time?), turned on the TV and sweated it out for 30 minutes to Men's beach volleyball. I'd like to lodge a protest with the Olympic committee. Why is it that the women were barely dressed with constant close-ups yet the men wore long baggy shorts with loose tanktops? I feel so cheated.

The weather looks like its going to be nice after all so I may try to convince DH to take that nature walk today. As much as I need to do housework and planning for the upcoming schoolyear, I really NEED to get out of the house. I must keep busy, busy, busy!

Okay I'm ready to take this on. The weekend will not get the better of me!

-Kristin

P.S.-Janette I have a problem with getting the protein in and cheese is a dear friend of mine so I try to find lowfat cheese alternatives. Some are great, some suck. You just have to experiment with what's available in your area. Last night I had a boneless pork loin chop(1/2) and it ended up being only 2pts. It was very lean, dense and surprisingly filling. I got to eat what the family was eating and that helped my psyche as well.

I just found out we can go to the Bills preseason game tonight. Buffalo is known for its tailgating. This is a test, isn't it? Today's mantra -"I am strong, I can do this!".

Good Monday morning -

How was everyone's weekend? Mine was less than exemplary but thanks to banked points and exercise, I survived. I really need to have a plan for weekends-especially this upcoming weekend. My sister's coming Wednesday to visit for a week. The Irish Festival is this weekend and we never miss it. I'm sure all the singing and dancing will help burn calories but I doubt there will be any low-cal food choices. I've already decided the Guinness is off limits(heavy sigh) but I'm trying to find a way to save points for their potato chowder-its exquisite.

I did my 1st week weigh-in this am and I lost 5 lbs. It would be nice if I have those results every week but I know that's not realistic so I'll just do my happy dance and focus on this new week I'm facing.

Have a great day.
