Hi everyone,

Pam -- I sent you a link to my photos.

Congrats on the putter. I need to get cracking and get on the course. I also could not pass up my cornmeal cake with macerated strawberries and whipped cream. It was my prof from grad schools birthday and he was quite appreciative of his sparkler candle on his cake.

Oy, so much to do and no time. I took my car in today as it is making a "noise", it sounds like one of the 900 dollar noises. I'm thinking that buying a new car is in lala's short term future.

I got my hair cut yesterday and today i'm going in for my first all over color. Yikes. My hair is dark brown and I'm going a few shades lighter. I decided the foil thing would look funny with my v. short hair.

Melissa -- what are your vacation plans?

Susan -- I am hoping that you are feeling better today.

Okay, gotta split.

lala

lala, are you changing your hair color? What color is it?

Susan, ditto what Pam and lala said. I would see a doctor. That's too long and you do risk anemia. That's no fun--I've been there.

Pam, congrats on the putter. Wow!! I can't imagine spending that much for a putter. Aren't best ball tournaments great?? That's what ours is too. I hope it's not that warm, but then again this is Florida.

Hi, Melissa.

My hair is dark brown and a I have seven grey hairs.

I want a change for the summer, but I am not in the mood for major change. I have really short hair (evil pixie meets liam gallagher) and it doesn't have enough "movement" for a foil.

Hi there. Just back from yet another meeting but the good news is that most groups have opted to suspend their regular meetings until the fall. Maybe we'll be able to catch up over the summer as a result.

Thanks everyone for the concern and advice re TOM. I have never considered seeing my doctor for this particular problem because I am firmly in perimenopause and I just considered this to be the new normal. I'll reconsider if this persists through the weekend. It's getting a touch tiresome in more ways than one.

lala: I had been letting my hair grow over the past four months, hoping for a bit of a change. My hair is naturally curly and of course, I wanted a style that required straight. It looked wonderful when I left the salon and hasn't looked the same since, despite my efforts. I'm going back Friday afternoon for a styling lesson and probably to purchase a $125 flat iron - outrageous, I know, but I don't think I can achieve the look without it.

Pam: Congrats on the new putter. Can't imagine playing golf in 93 degree weather.

Domina: Have fun in the tournament. The only time I ever enjoyed golf was in a best ball tournament. No fun having to play my own all the time - takes way too much time

The dragon boat races were a blast, and we actually did quite well all things considered. It was a gorgeous day - warm and sunny - perfect paddling weather. DH's boat did really well too - third out of 20. I think we were 7. Can't wait til next year!

In other news, I feel fat, fat, fat.

lala, thanks for the recipes. Lucky you--only 7 gray hairs?? Like you, my hair keeps getting shorter and shorter.

Susan, okay, wait through the weekend. Yes, we have weird happenings in perimenopause, but your situation is out of the "new norm." Congrats on the dragon boat races.

Hi to Melissa and Pam.

Good TGIF morning. It's sunny and warm; folks are starting to get nervous because it's been like this 3 days in a row. Odd for Halifax

Thanks everyone for your advice re my TOM situation. It's hard to know sometimes if what you're experiencing is within the bounds of "normal" or not. My Mom doesn't remember her symptoms at all - just like she doesn't remember what it was like to have 9 young kids. Go figure! I will call my GP today for an appointment.

What are your plans for the weekend? We're going out tonight for my postponed birthday dinner. DH is heading to New Brunswick tomorrow to visit his parents but I'm staying behind. His parents are caring for his sister's cat, and I'm allergic. We'd have to get a hotel room if I went, and I think that upsets his mom, so it's simpler this way. Besides, my half-marathon buddies are planning a long run (12 km) on Sunday morning and I want to participate. Otherwise, I'll putter around in the yard.

My eating has improved somewhat this week but still isn't what it should be. I'm working on it. My clothes are tight - that's the biggest incentive right now.

Susan, I'm glad you're going to the doctor. Ah yes, tight clothes, that does it for me, too. Have a good run this weekend.

This weekend I have rehearsal and a golf tournament. Oh, on Sunday, DH is working, so I'll go to a play. I always have friends acting in plays.

What's everyone else doing this weekend?

What a week! We're actually caught up here in the office, the packets are stuffed, lists are done, etc. and it's a good feeling. My only hope is that the phones don't go crazy this afternoon.

Pam: I don't have vacation until all the summer orientations are done, which will be the end of July. I'll have a "mini vacation" 4th of July weekend as I'm taking off the 2nd. No major plans for vacation--probably visit the Football Hall of Fame in Canton and then do some home projects that are needed.

Lala: Only 7 gray hairs? I've got more than that but with my hair color they're not that noticeable yet. How did you make out with your car?

Susan: Glad to hear you're going to call your GP about TOM. I would be nervous having it that long and besides maybe they can do something for you. Have you gotten to a meeting yet? Enjoy your dinner out!

Domina: Have a great weekend!

The weather here has been dismal at best--overcast/rainy/humid. The past 3 days have been such that I can't get outside to walk. Tomorrow is supposed to be better with lower temps (60's) and a possibility of rain. The grass looks great and it's definitely helping our garden but I'm ready for some sunshine.

No major plans for the weekend--Saturday I'm hoping to sleep in a little since I've been having a hard time sleeping at night. I need to catch up with some house things on Saturday. Sunday my DH, DS #1, #2 are going to a communion breakfast with his dad and my dad so they'll be tied up for a bit in the morning. Don't have anything major planned for the afternoon as yet.

On the eating front, I do really well all day long and then after dinner I end up eating stuff I shouldn't. I know part of the problem is that I'm fixing something for DS #1 to eat when he gets home from work at 9:45 p.m. and that's a redlight time period for me. So my thinking is that I have his dinner ready and he can heat it up rather than me doing and being tempted to eat.
