Default January Chat

Starting a new chat for the new year. I did pretty well this last week. The week of Christmas I set myself on maintenance (I am lifetime at goal, but want to lose a few pounds). I have set it back to losing though. I'm up about half a pound from when I last weighed in mid-December so I'll see how I do tomorrow.

Pinky Pie - It sounds like you are really active and eat pretty healthy. For fruit, I find that I do OK with the berries which are lower sugar. I avoid the tropical fruits, but some people do OK on them. I think a lot of it with the new plan is just figuring out what works best for each of us. Starting a plan that is so different right in the middle of holidays was challenging.

Hi Koshka, I'm sure we are all up a little bit after the holidays. You'll lose it in no time

I am off to the market to get some fruit and veg. do you guys know anything about how to "count" veg that you put through the juicer? Like if I have a juice of one carrot, one beet and a couple carrot sticks and maybe an apple? is it still zero?

Anything juiced or blended has to be counted. You'd be a lot fuller and satisfied if you are the foods whole.

how do you count it actually?

and actually I'm more satisfied drinking beets and pears since I have a hard time eating them! but I do understand the concept!

Put it into the recipe builder and then check the blended box on the bottom. Then, the points will be calculated.

And, thanks for your comment on my blog post. It was an attempt to explain just why WW is penalizing sugar in calculating SmartPoints.

I weighed in today for my monthly weigh in and was up .8 pounds. It kind of annoyed me because I was only up .4 on my home scale.

That said, if I go back to my November weigh in and look at the eating season as a whole (from Thanksgiving to today), I lose .8 pounds over that period. I am very content with that.

looking at it from a bigger picture is better, Kitty.
now that the holidays are over it will be no issue to lose the last bit again.

I haven't dared get on the scale again. I thought I would be back on track yesterday and we ended up going out for dinner. I had pizza... need i say more?

So today again a restart and mostly good. I went for a half road/ half trail run for 2 hours and right afterwards had 4 sour/sweet peach candies at the cafe we went to (skipped the hot chocolate and had a cappo instead) and on my way home I picked up a banana and little bag of almonds.

About to make a new soup - I hope it turns out tasty. Roasted cauliflower kale soup. The photo on the recipe certainly looks appealing.

The soup sounds good. As for pizza -- I retain water like crazy after I eat it so my weight goes up temporarily. But, if I didn't eat too much, it will come back down...

Good Morning (it's afternoon for me )

the soup was AMAZING. and I even got it to look exactly like the recipe photo

http://dishingupthedirt.com/recipes/...wer-kale-soup/

I think I'm ok after the pizza. I only stepped on the scale this morning though. 74.9KG. I would like to see that be 72 by the end of this month. Could be tricky, but am going to try.

Hello team!

I'm avoiding the scale so far this month - just decided that with travel and TOM, last week's weigh in would be better left unweighed. This week should be interesting, since was totally off plan for about a week. How much damage can a holiday do? I guess we'll see...

Hoping to be more active on her in the new year - going to need support and inspiration!

Just to get into the convo - I never tracked my all fruit/veg smoothies and lost about 50 lbs...maybe as I get closer to goal I will need to do that, but it seemed ok so far

Hi All... Happy New Year!

Just wanted to jump in and let everyone know that WW refunded me my full 3 month membership amount because of all the problems... Which I'm happy about. So I just decided to go ahead an buy another Monthly Pass so I can go to my meeting and do my last "official" weigh-in so I can hopefully qualify for Lifetime Membership... which I'm feeling very confident about... I definitely feel I will be able to be within the 2lbs +/- of my goal weight with not much of a problem...

The holidays were a bit more difficult for me than I would have liked and even though I've gone a little above the 2lbs of my goal on my scale at home (which usually weighs me a little bit higher than the one at WW) once I watch the salt and carbs (aka cookies... LOL) that extra "weight" comes right off...

I've actually been tracking with MFP again because I really want to see just how many calories I'm eating so I can get a better grip on just what will and won't work for maintaining...

And of course even though I'm technically at "goal" I would still like to lose a few more lbs... the trainer I'm working with seems to think 155lbs would be good for me... although personally, I would like 150... well, because it just seems like a nice "even" number for me... Lol... BUT hey, as long as I can stay at 165 I'll be happy... Because that's A LOT better than the 250lbs I once was...

TripSwitch -0 Glad to hear they refunded you. And, I think doing the Monthly Pass to get to last weigh in is a good idea. Once you get to lifetime and get free eTools, call them and ask them to refund the unused part of the Monthly Pass and then put in the free eTools. (You have to call to get the refund. It is not automatic.).

I double track in MFP and WW. They each give me different information and it is important on them.

elaine - Whatever the result of the holiday was usually weight that has just come on seems to go away quickly.

Hello all. Hope everyone's had a good New Year. I weighed in at WW and was 128 whoa! My goal was 122 so I have to lose almost ten pounds. Good thing the new program is so rigid because I can lose that in no time. I find that my points go a lot quicker than usual and there is less room for snacks. However I'm positive that I will adjust and it will be better in the long run.

I put up two pictures in the pink hoodie I am 128 around New Years. In the turquoise top I am 124 around 1/5. I am a pear shape for the record.

Hello! I am starting WW again. I have done it in the past, but really only had success when I was under for points while reducing my carbs at the same time. I hope the new program will be more in line with what I had to do in the past. I am afraid to weigh myself right now....but I plan to step on the scale tomorrow!

I am from the US, but I currently live in Argentina. I have been having a hard time finding all of the diet foods I ate in the past. I really miss those huge grocery stores!
