Easter Challenge!!
I don't want to turn this into a religious challenge of any kind, but it is the season of chocolate bunnies and yummy creme eggs...:dizzy: So I thought it would be appropriate. Especially if you love chocolate as much as I do!
Easter is April 20 this year, so that gives us a solid month to set some goals for ourselves!!:goodvibes: :wizard:For this challenge it might be helpful to include the following: - Your start weight, because you may forget it a few weeks from now! - Steps that you will take to reach your weight goal. - Your weight goal or other final goal. - A reward for yourself, contigent on reaching your goal! :hyper:I am on an exercise high right now, and am pumped to get going again! Here are my goals: - My starting weight for the challenge is 166.2 - :dancer:I will walk, do my WAWTP video, or other cardio, 5 times a week. - I will do 125 ab roller exercises 3 X a week. - I will limit myself to 1 yummy easter treat per week!:tape: - I will lose 4lbs, bringing me down to 162.2 - My reward will be an evening out with dh!:balloons: |
I am game for another challange.
My start weight is 185 goal is 180 I will get out and walk at least 3 times weekly I will do Tae-bo 3 times a week I will also do weight training 6 days a week. I will stay op and i will allow enough points for a weekly treat. My reward will be hard but I will play with my kids at the park on one Saturday. |
Hi - I am up for the Easter Challenge as well.
My start is 195.2#. My goal will be to get down to 190#. To do this I will stay within my point range daily & do at least 1 mile per day of my tape & get in my water. I hope to increase my exercise up to 2 miles per day. Anything over & above this will be bonus. My reward will be a facial & pedicure. Wishing everyone good luck on the challenge. |
Judmom-i love your reward! it doesn't cost anything, and is so great!!!
I am adding another reward to mine- the one i missed last time- i will try on my old/new clothes! Even though i did not make my last goal, i still fit into a few dress clothes for the first time since getting preg!! badit2- aren't those tapes geat!!! i have done my 1 mile lots, and am pumped to try the 3 mile, my mom got it for me the other day! what one(s) do you do? do you do the weights? i just use 3lb weiights i have here, and wow what a workout! |
This is perfect - I'm in desparate need of a short term challenge. Mind if I join in?
My start weight is 169. My goal is 163. To get there I will: - journal everything I eat - stay within my point range - drink at least 6 glasses of water per day - strength train 3 times per week - do cardio 4 times per week - do Pilates or yoga or Body Flow at least once per week My reward will be a new outfit. Six lb from now I should fit comfortably into a size 14. |
Saskiemom:
I bought the 2 mile tape but since I only started last week I have been doing the 1st mile then the cool-down. So far I have walked 9 miles. My goal is to do 1 mile before going to work then work up to doing 2 miles at night for a daily total of 3 miles. It will be awhile until I get into that routine. Also I don't have the weights but I am going to buy the dumbbell kind this weekend. I really like these tapes. To get in a mile in 15 min without leaving the house is awesome and it really makes me feel good first thing in the morning. Can really feel it in my butt & thighs. How long have you been doing them? |
Welcome, Chrm32!!
please excuse my typing, i have dd in one arm! Bandit2- i have been using the 1 mile walk for a few months now, usually 2-3 times a week. i have not used it in a week or so, though, because it has been nice enough to go outside! i really like the video, though, it is easy but upbeat! i really feel it in my arms when i use my dumbells! for the first month i gad to do it with my dd in her snuggli on my chest- that was a heck of a workout!!! we went swimming this morning for 40 minutes- not a great workout for anything except my arms, but dd  loved it! we are heading out for a big walk this afternoon, dd will be on my back, so that will be an extra 15+lbs to carry! have a great day!! |
Hi
Got in a mile last night & again this a.m. Total so far = 11 Good going on the swimming - it all counts. |
Can I join?
I am new to this thread, but not new to 3fatchicks.
I rejoined WW in January and I am down 10.6 lbs. I currently weigh 219.4 by Easter I would like to lose 4 lbs. How am I going to accomplish this? By eating within my point range. Working out 3 to 6 days a week. Drinking all my water. Thanks, Susan |
Hi, Susan! Welcome to the challenge! Sounds like you have a good plan of attack!
I love this nice weather! :D Today I did 2 miles of WAWTP video, and went for a walk to the playground with my dd and "Little Sister", it was 20 minutes both ways. Another good exercise day! This weather definitely boosts my spirits, and even if the numbers on the scale aren't moving, I feel excellent! ;) |
Two good days so far. Ate within my points and journaled yesterday and today. Drank my water yesterday though not today - I'll do better with that one tomorrow. Yesterday I did an upper body workout and the 3 mi WATP. Today did a 60 min. Pilates class.
I'm aiming for another good one tomorrow. |
Thanks for the welcome.
I stayed within my points yesterday. Did an upper body work out, an ab workout and walked 20 minutes. Drank lots of water my goal is 3 liters a day or more. The weather here had been beautiful, however, today is overcast and cooler. But that's better than snow! Sounds like everyone here is focused on their Easter goal. SaskieMom what is WAWTP video. Chrim32 have some friends who really enjoy Pilates - but I have never tried it - how long have you been doing it? A reward for getting to my Easter goal - one of two things either work on my scrapbook for four hours - which I rarely get to do anymore or buy myself a new novel. |
WATP video is Walk Away the Pounds, a video good for uncoordinated people like myself! I just switched from the 1 mile to the 3 mile, and it is great!!!
I am having a great week, though the #'s aren't reflecting it yet. I did 125 ab crunches, and dd and i are going walking right away. Also, I am trying the cola chicken recipe for supper- it is already in the crockpot!! Hopefully this will help me stay on track through my sister's surprise visit this weekend! Have a good Friday everyone!!! |
Good morning everyone,
Another good day yesterday. Except for the water. I'm going to have to work on that one. You'd think that would be the easiest part but I seem to be having lots of trouble with it this time around. I don't mind drinking water, I just haven't been thinking about it. I'll have to work on that one. I walked for 30 min. at lunch yesterday. I was planning on Body Pump too but after being on my feet all day I just didn't feel like moving last night. Today I'll do a video - I found a Firm tape not even opened yet. Wonder how long ago I bought that? Maybe I'll give it a shot instead of WATP for a change. I'm pretty uncoordinated but I'll give it a try. I just started Pilates. Thursday was my first class and it was great. I thought it would be really hard, maybe even painful, but it wasn't. There were lots of options for all the moves, and though I'm not ready to even try the advanced version of most moves, at least I managed the beginner or intermediate. I'm sure that over the next few months my core muscles will keep getting stronger. And I felt great at the end of the class. |
Hi everyone:
Glad everyone is OP & focussed. Did the whole WATP 2 mile yesterday. Bought some weights last night & did the whole tape again today using the weights. I feel great. Welcome Susan and hope you enjoy the challenge. I have been good this week and have exercised everyday, so hopefully Mon I will be down. Saskie - good exercising this week. Let me know how that chicken turns out. I have been meaning to try it. Sounds yummy. I have a birthday party tonight & a dance. Always something to challenge me on the weekends. Have a good one. |
I have been excercising everyday this week. I am also having trouble with water. I am stay op for the most part. I did not weigh in last week so I am going to do it tomarrow. hopefully I wiil be down at least 1 pound.
|
The cola chicken was not good!!! That is 1 recipe I will never use again!!!
I walked tons Fri and Sat, took a break and just did abs yesterday. Eating was not so good- had nachos Fri, crackers and dips Sat, and Medetranian dip Sun...I had lots of banked pts and ex pts, though, so I will wait to see what the scale says! I had a fun weekend, and don't feel bad about going a little high on pts-I need to make WW part of my life and that includes high days too!:D |
My weekend was a pretty good one. I workout both Saturday and Sunday. I stayed within my point range. Drank plenty of water. I did have some chinese food yesterday - so I am trying to drink lots of water to get rid of the soduim. Having a great day so far. Monday is my day off from exercising - because it's just a hectic day for my with work and getting dd to dance and gym.
Wiegh in for me at is at lunch time tomorrow. Will update you as soon as I can get to my PC. I may try to weigh at the early meeting if I can slip away from work. Susan |
Had A good monday did not have time for WI though promise will do it tomarrow(tuesday).
Had a good excercise day today walked about 4 miles all together. Also did 10 min of weight training as well as 10 min of streching. went op today by 5 points. but will promise to do better on tuesday. I am having trouble with late night snacking. I get really hungry after 9 pm. |
Hi everyone:
Judmom - Good job on the exercising - keep it up. Maybe try to save a couple of points for that late-night snack then you won't stress over it & will have something to look forward to. Saskiemom - You are the 2nd person that didn't like the chicken. Everyone else seems to love it. Good going on getting in your walks. Susan - good luck at the scales. As for my week - I was up .2# last night but it was from over-indulging at party & dance (I think too many drinks) then Chinese on Sunday watching the Oscars. Even though I didn't have too much battered Chinese I think it makes me retain water - even my feet felt puffy yesterday. Anyway I got in 11 miles of walking last week so I think it helped me not being waaayyyy up last night. Got in another 2 miles this a.m. before work. Hope you all have a great week & good luck on the East Challenge. |
Judmom- It is great to hear you doing so well with exercise! I hope you are able to WI today. Is it totally necessary for you to eat after 9pm? I try to get all my pts in before 9 whenever possible. Then I KNOW I can't go over late at night!
Bandit2- .2# is nothing, that is great!! Isn't it nice to know you can live-eat and drink in moderation- and not gain! That is a big part of this being a lifestyle not a diet! (for me anyway!) WI tonight- hoping to maintain after my "loose" weekend! |
I'm not doing badly so far this week - not perfect, but not horrible either. Went for a long walk on Sunday and took an aerobics class yesterday. I have a pretty busy day today so I'm not sure where I'll fit in exercise.
I need to watch weekend eating. I tend to munch way too much on the weekends - not necessarily bad foods, just too many of them. I weigh in tonight so I'll let you know tomorrow how I did. Chris |
bandit2 - .2 will be easy to get rid of I was up .6 last week and was down 2.2 this week - what did I do differently? Nothing.
Chris - I can completely relate about the weekend eating - I have to be extra careful too. Judmom - late night snacking can be a problem - wish I had some helpful hints. I usually try to eat my last meal around 6:30 have something for dessert and then call it quits for eating for the evening. It's difficult when hubby and dd are having ice cream or cookies later, but I grab some water and tell myself I can do this! Saskiemom - I have even been journaling my high days regardless of how high - I find it easier to stop myself I can really see the points. Good Luck to everyone at weigh in this week. I was very happy hope everyone get's to do the happy dance. Susan |
Chris- Weekends are hard for me too! Don't worry if you can't fit exercise in today, it sounds like you are doing awesome! What type of aerobics class do you go to?
Susan- I journal all days too, including super high ones. Even with my three high evenings I am almost broken even, thanks to all my walking points! I went for an 80 minute walk with a friend and dd today. It was a little windy, but if we stayed inside every time it was windy we would never go outside! I have my 2nd week of training to work the WW meetings tonight, as well as WI. I will report back later! Have a great afternoon! |
Week One WI
I had WI tonight, and lost 2#. Hooray for walking!!!
|
Saskiemom - good for you! Nice loss.
Hope everyone has a great week. Did my tape again this a.m. |
Thanks, bandit2.
Walked for 1 hour today. Will do abs this afternoon. Not much else new. I get 6 months free WW online since I work meetings- it is really neat. I put in all my WI's since starting and it graphs them and puts stars on and stuff. Cool:) Only disappointment is that it only gives stars the first time you lose the weight. That means I don't get any for all the weight I have lost since :bb: was born! |
Hi everyone:
Got in another 2 miles this a.m. Total since Tues = 8. Want to beat 11 by Mon. Last few days have been eating at high end of my points, trying to save some for weekend but it didn't happen. So, I have to be really careful this weekend. Don't have any food points banked (only activity points but I don't use those) Hope everyone has a great OP (on programme) weekend :-) |
SaskieMom, Susan - good job on the loss this week. It seems to be the week for losing 2 lb. I was also down 2 lb at my weigh in last Tuesday.
I haven't done much exercise this week; a couple of aerobics classes and Pilates last night. No weights this week. :( . I'm going to have to get back at it if I want sculpted arms for the summer. I also haven't been journaling for the last few days so I have a feeling that weigh in won't be good this week. I never do as well when I don't journal. But tomorrow is a new day - time to start again. SaskieMom, I think it's very cool that you're working WW meetings. The staff at my meeting always seem to have fun and the regular weigh ins will help you keep the weight off. I think it would be worth working meetings just for the added motivation to maintain. Everyone have a great weekend! Chris |
Chris- Great job on the 2# loss! I hope you are back at journalling, it seems to make a huge difference! (For me, anyway!)
Working the meetings IS motivating, but then it is a little unmotivating in a way too. I usually end up weighing myself in since our staff is small, so then there isn't even another person for me to be accountable to! Also, I don't get to listen to the meeting topics or get stars, etc..because I am doing paperwork. I will only work every third meeting starting in a few weeks, which will allow me to attend the other 2 meetings. That will be good! Bandit2-How is the weekend going? Are you doing oK without banked points? I didn't get to walk yesterday due to extreme wind, and used all my banked pts plus a couple on pizza. Today I got a walk in, though, and think I will take dd "swimming" tonight. Mostly that is just me carrying her around the pool and splashing a lot. It has to be good for my arm muscles, though! How is everyone doing so far this weekend? |
:cb: I am so very happy right now I stayed op for the last 4 days I even banked points a couple of those days. Also I got to excercise daily and I have gotten my water in yeah me. I WI tomarrow(sunday) hopefully it will show.even though My monthly freind showed up.
|
Way to go Judmom! How is work going? It is GREAT to hear you are doing so well!
|
Hi everyone:
Saskiemom - I think I did OK this weekend. Got 14 miles of my tape in - so I beat my 11 miles of the week before. Judmom - Way to go staying OP & doing your exercises. Keep it up. Have a great day. |
the scale did not show a loss but maybe because of all the wayer my body is not use to that and also it is mt tom. It will show a loss next week.
|
Judmom- you will prob have a huge loss next week-TOM is a nasty water retaining problem!! Hang in there, you will be rewarded next weeK!
WI tonight, will report back later! |
Hi everyone:
Was down 2.8# on Mon night. Got in 4 miles of walking on Tues and another 2 miles this a.m. before work. Judmom- hang in there & you will see results. Saskiemom - Good luck on your w/i. Bye for now. |
Count me in!! I just missed my goal weight for the St Pats challenge.
My start weight is 193.8 Steps I will take: I will hit the gym 3x per week and work on the free weights for 20-minutes and work on the cardio machine for 20-minutes. I will also walk for at least 30-minutes 3x per week (this will be easy cuz I can do it during my sons baseball practice! LOL) My goal is to lost 3 pounds by Easter. If I meet this goal I am going to buy myself a new DVD!!! |
Good luck, Wendy!
Bandit2- Wow, you are really doing great with walking! I think I better start using my tapes too- we got a pile of snow yesterday! Congrats on the great loss! I was down .6# last night- I am lucky I didn't gain! :o I will stay in my pts range more carefully this week! DD and I went swimming this morning. My ex goal for the week is to do my 3 mile tape 3 times, and to do abs 3 days. Have a great day!! |
Sounds like everyone is hanging in there doing their best - way to go!
I have been so busy at work that I can hardly think straight, then when I get home between trying to work out and my dd I can't even think about the computer. Weighed in last night was down 2 lbs - so I need to rethink my Easter goal it was to lose 4 lbs by Easter and I have lost 4.2 in the past two weeks which is kind of unusual for me to loose that much in two weeks. It usually takes me four weeks to lose that much, so perhaps I should I have said 6 lbs so I would like to lose 2 more lbs before Easter. Take Care Gotta Run - hopefully will get to be more active in posting next week. Susan |
Hi everyone:
Had w/i last night - was up 1.6# Too much bread & not enough water over the weekend. I got 12 miles in last week - aimimg for more this week. Goal for this week is to stay within point range, exercise & drink my water. Hope everyone has a great week. Bye for now. |
