Default Just wondering...

So i have several friends who are doing WW and i gave into it as well. I should receive my at home kit tomorrow which im really excited about. But i had a question. Im borderline diabetic ive been testing my sugars and sadly they have been high alot because i havent taken care of myself...but also it is highly run in my family as my father, aunt and grandfather have it. Im just wondering is WW still safe for someone like me? I know type 2 can be kicked (i hope anyway) with healthy diet and exercise. Anyone else been in this position or had diabetes and did this and beat it?

First of all, !!!!

Yes, it should be safe because you choose the food yourself as long it's within your points. There are no specific foods or anything you have to eat. They do have healthy guidelines for you to follow like healthy fat (olive oil, nuts, avocado, etc), water, fruits, veggies, whole grains and such. I personally love WW because I think it's sustainable like something I can do for the rest of my life and I don't feel guilty if I want to indulge in one meal or one day, etc.

As for the diabetes part, I don't know but I would assume by eating healthier and making better choices, it should be manageable.

dj mayhem congrats to your mom for almost being off medication. Its stories like that, that give me some hope. My father and Aunt are both overweight and not taking care of themselves properly shooting their type 2 diabetes into type 1. I cant stand needles (unless its a tattoo) to start with and i dont want to be down that road. Thank you for giving me some hope!
