I did low-carb for years----it is great for short-term weight loss, but it isn't very sustainable. Also, the 'loss' is mostly water, especially that first week, so if you are feeling bloated or just need that confidence boost on the scale, low-carb is fine, but it really isn't the answer for long-term success---well, unless you have some other issues, like insulin sensitivity or something. I only eat whole grains and fruits and veggies as carbs though---anything white is not good for you, spikes your insulin and is stored as fat.
