seriously try and lose 5 lbs by Jan. 1 - no real travel for me after Dec. 4th may make this a possibility
start training for danskin triathalon now, so staying on track in terms of exercising and getting some new routines going
not to let my environment influence my progress
good topic patch, enjoy that zinfandel for me, eh?
We talked about where we would like to be come the first of the year and how we would achieve that outcome. I want to be in my comfort zone of 139-140 which means losing 4# to get there. I can achieve this by making sure I journal, drink my water, and exercise more. I struggle with the exercise part of the equation lately but once I get into a routine I will be fine.
I know I will also need to plan for eating out and the upcoming holiday parties but it's something that I've been able to handle in the past and I seem to "kick it up a notch" when it comes to the holiday season.
I had a lovely weekend away w/ hubby in wine country. And yes, notched up to 131.8 from 130.4 - yikes. Trying to get back on program, and majorly trying to not let a family emergency and work stuff get in the way of my food goals.
I'd really like a few weeks of boring humdrum life. "Ain't happening".
Just for the next few weekdays (Tues - Friday) I'd like to stick to program and eat low range and healthy.
I'm traveling to see my parents again this weekend (Dad had a "mild stroke" last night.) And then going to the Cape for Thanksgiving. All I really want to do is hide and hibernate.
So - if I can just maintain my 132 throughout November, I would consider myself very fortunate.
I really would like to continue losing, but definitely not gain. That means planning, planning, planning and that dreaded portion control and staying away from cookies and other sweets. They are my downfall.
My goal from now until the first week of January will be to maintain and that will mean regular exercise. I'm aiming for five days a week - not necessarily running but doing something to work off the extra food that I know I will be eating.
I've fallen off the journal bandwagon lately. Since I am almost finished by currrent 12-week journal, perhaps I'll buy a new one and make a commitment... Seems like such a big one. Boy, have I done some serious backsliding in the past few months.
My goal for the holiday season is continuing working on maintaining by weight & getting a very good idea of about how many points per day I can eat to do so.
I love to bake, so another goal for me is to keep the cookie dough eating to a reduced level (MAJOR red-light food for me).
Also want to faithfully keep up the exercise (5-6 times/week).
well, i am also a cookie baker and decorator. This year, I'm thinking of either scaling back (NO!!!!) or having a big huge
cookie decorating party and making each cookie go away.
After I found out that each silly little candy corn was 10 calories, I decided that they just weren't worth it. I should calculate the points for each batch of gingerbread cookie dough and do the same thing.
Lower point, but easier eating biscotti? Hmm, good and easy to make, however, easier to snack on.
I see chutney and mustard making in my future. No one can binge on mustard.
We do alot of entertaining, so this will be a challenge.
great goals ladies, lets help each other keep them.
It was really nice to see my family two weeks ago and have them compliment me.
I am doing pretty well with the maintenance thing - I was up .6 from last week, so whatever I'm doing is working.
Weigh in 11/14/01: 142.8
I leave Friday for a 7 day cruise Nov 17-24, so this will be a great challenge to keep up with the exercise & not be taken in by the excess of food I hear about on these cruises. My goal is not to gain more than 3-4 pounds (or less!) if possible. Doable, I think.
re: cookies - I'm not a big fan of cookie dough although I'm the type that likes to eat 'em warm out of the oven. I can attest to way too many stomaches from warm cookie dough. I've scaled back on the cookie baking.
Katie: My WW buddy went on a cruise this past October and she actually lost one pound! She said they have menus that have pretty healthy selections. Seafood is a good choice because it's generally low point. She also took advantage of the exercise equipment and did a lot of walking. So it's very do-able and you can maintain while you're away. Have fun!!!
My week went pretty well and at weigh in yesterday I was down 1#...I'm really focusing on trying to get back down to my comfort zone. This is the time of year that I kick things into high gear.
