Hi Kiki! Glad to have you aboard. We are all new here as well.

How about Wednesdays for weigh in day? Right in the middle of the week; something to look forward to on hump day. We can start next Wed. if that's ok.

I just noticed -- with the exception of Alexandra, we're all short!! Ooo, how politically incorrect am I -- I mean we're all vertically challenged!

Thumbs up New too

Hi Girls
I just joined Weight Watchers last night and thought having some support and friends online would be a great way to keep me on track. I have never been a "thin" girl, but over the last few years (since hitting 30) I've been gaining about 5-10 lbs a year. I know my eating and exercise habits need some major work and joined Weight Watchers to help me with that.
My goal is to lose 10 lbs by Valentines Day, as I go on vacation with a bunch of my girlfriends every year in mid February.

Good luck to all of us, lets help each other stay on track.

Hello Everyone!

Weekly weigh in sounds great! How about on Fridays? That's the end of the week, and that way we don't have to worry about Monday weigh ins if we do end up cheating a bit...hahaha....

This is the Oatmeal recipe girls!

Peanut Butter and Banana Oatmeal

1/3 Cup of oats (Quaker 1-minute oats work great)

2/3 Cup water (maybe a tad more if you don’t like it too thick)

2 TBSP wheat germ

1 TBSP peanut butter

1 banana

Sometimes I like to just put a bit of milk over it to top it off....it's optional

Boil water, let oats and wheat germ cook for a minute to thicken up. Add p/b and stir in. Add cut up banana. Top with milk.

Enjoy!! The trick to keep you feeling full is the wheat germ. It's a lot of fiber so it keeps you feeling full longer.

Welcome to the board kikipiloo! Looks like the 2 of us are the chicks from Canada! Good luck and all the Best!

Have a wonderful day ladies!

Welcome Amers, glad you're here!

Thanks for the oatmeal recipe Alexandra. I didn't realize you put the pb and banana IN the oatmeal. I'm definitely going to try this. Never thought about adding wheat germ to stuff.

Alexandra suggested Fridays as our weigh in day. Is this ok with everyone? I have no problem w/it. We can start next Friday, 1/12. Sound good?

Did anyone/everyone exercise today? I did 2.5 miles on the treadmill this a.m. and just got back from a 1.5 mile dog walkie. BEAutiful weather today. I live in PA and it must be 55 or 60 out. January 4th and no coat needed. I'll take it!!

Hey I just thought of something for the oatmeal recipe. To "up" the protein you could add 1/2 scoop of protein powder. I have some from GNC. It's their brand, called 100% Whey protein powder, vanilla flavored. Per 1/2 scoop it has 60 calories and 10 grams of protein. Just a thought.

Weigh in friday is great!
I have been eating good so far, since Tuesday, but I've yet to get the exercising in! I cannot find the time! Please help me!
I wake up at 5:00 am to shower and get dressed for work. Then I get my 2 year old ready for daycare. I eat my breakfast. On the road at 6:20 a.m and work till 4 pm. Arrive home around 5 pm. Play with daughter for about 30 minutes. Cook dinner. Clean-up. Bathe daughter, put her to bed. Husband comes home. It's around 8 pm now. Chit Chat with husband for awhile while doing chores. It's 9pm before I know it and I'm dog tired! Somehow I must make time to exercise! I can walk at my lunch hour some days if its not raining or incredibly hot like it gets in Houston in the summer. Whine!

Anyone have any mini-goals? I'm wanting to be down 5 lbs by the end of Jan.

I've discovered Boca Chicken / Burgers on an English Muffin with a tblsp. of Marinara sauce on it. Really yummy and filling for lunch!

KC, wow your days are packed! Does your husband leave for work the same time as you or later? If later, maybe he could get your little girl ready to leave and drop her off so you could exercise in the morning. Could you work through lunch (eew, I know!), leave early and get some exercise in then get your daughter? Maybe you could pop her in the stroller after dinner for a walk? My husband worked at night for quite a few years when the kids were little (and through pregnancies) and I always thought that the nighttime routine was just freakin' tiring cause it was just non-stop. I know that by dinner time and after I'm usually wiped out, even now. I did exercise at night for a while once but that was in the summer and I hated it.

When I posted about weighing in on 1/12 -- that was because I thought it was already Friday (1/5) afternoon but it was only Thursday! Christmas really threw me off. I've finally figured out that today is actually Saturday. Sorry to hear you were sick Nic. Hope you're feeling better. I just took the dog for a 1.5 mile walk and was cleaning all morning (bathrooms --I HATE cleaning the bathrooms!!)

Default Hello!!!

How is everyone doing today? It's a beautiful day here in Kingston, Ontario, Canda. A little chilly, but I still can't believe how mild it actually is for January! There's no snow and I don't have about 6 layers of clothes on! haha
Sorry I haven't posted in awhile, but I've been feeling really sad lately, I just miss my Mom and Dad, not having parents at my age is definitely tough! But today is a better day and I've gone out for a 45 minute walk with my dog this morning already -YAY!

The oatmeal recipe is really great! The way I posted it, it is 7 points, but feel free to modify it any way you like, of course!

This coming Friday, the 12th, sounds great! I've been good so far, so I hope it pays off! I'm doing WW on my own at home, it's my 2nd time, so I hvae all the materials up to week 12, and a couple of WW cookbooks. I can't afford to do the online one because I'm a student on a very tight budget, and I don't like the meeting option because it's expensive and they make you feel horrible there when you've gained 1lb! So this website is a great support for me! Thank you all so much!

I think we could also do a recipe exchange by email if anyone wanted? That way we can send our favourite recipes to each other and we each will have a collection?! Posting WW material on this site is not allowed, so I figure email is good option? What do you guys think?

Ok, I'm off to do some homework.. Back to school tomorrow.....looking forward to it actually!

Have a wonderful day ladies!!!

P.S. You guys can just call me Alex, much shorter..haha...
