Well, I finally hit Curves same time as the lady that measure/weighs me. I've lost 7 1/2 more inches and 5 more lbs for a total of 16 inches and 12 pounds since November 8th! I'm quite happy!
As for breaking a good sweat, I'm usually starting up a good sweat about the first time around the 3x loop and exhausted at the end of the 3rd. To finish up the membership for the next year, if I get too used to it, I plan on adding more times around until it's over. Now I wish I had joined a regular gym for the variety, but I think it's a good start, and it's really close to my house on my way home from work.
2sw33t-- I am one that can get my heart rate up quick too. But I have a rate of 75-95 at rest and have most of my adult life, even when I was much thinner.
MrsJim--they measure 7-8 spots there. Bust, waist, hips, thighs, calves, and upper arms. I like the variety of areas... I didn't lose any body fat % this go around, but I must be toning up, especially in the legs because those measurements didn't get any smaller, and I am starting to visibly see less JIGGLY STUFF. God bless small miracles!
Nelie-- I'm glad to be here! I've always been partial to weight lifting. I find it very challenging and I'm a nurse and am used to lifting heavy things, like little old people!

So it helps my job too in more ways than one. And my little, built, Marine brother taught me years ago the proper way to lift, and we've always challenged each other, and we need to do that again! He's losing his 6-pack (what I wouldn't give for one of those--even a 4-pack!)
This summer we moved into a smaller house, and I'd had a weight bench and weights, but there is NO room in this tiny house for it, and I didn't want to ruin it by keeping it on the back patio, so I gave it to some friends that helped us move. Now that I've made this committment, I look around at all the places I COULD HAVE put it... but oh well. The gym will do for now.
