I've answered this question before but I don't mind answering again
The best place (IMO!!!) on the Web to find sports bras that I've come across is
www.title9sports.com. They have a HUGE selection and their website is very concise.
From the Title 9 site, Q&As from "Professor Bra"

on the ever-hot topic of sport bras:
Quote:
What's so great about a sports bra anyway?
"The biggest advantage of a sports bra versus a regular bra is the meticulous attention given to the mechanics of excellent support, the details of construction, placement of seams and choices of fabrics."
How do I know I have the right size?
"First of all, the "right" size may not be your regular bra size. You'll know you've got the right fit when the fabric is smooth, the chest band is snug but not tight, and the straps don't pull or bind."
How do I choose the right sports bra?
"First and foremost, try it on and try it out. There's no truer test than a test drive. Trust us, you'll know when you've got the right one."
Ok. I've got my size, but I'm still not sure where to start.
"A good starting point is to figure out if you prefer what we call a compression or an encapsulation style bra."
What's a compression bra anyway?
"Think pancakes. These bras will compress your breasts against your ribcage, and often come in a pull-over style." Check out the Melbourne (310144) or the Frog Bra (310900) for the major masher bra.
Who chooses an encapsulation style bra?
"Well, Madonna for one, but regular folks who want to avoid that uni-breast look. Encapsulation bras support each breast separately. They're also the best choice for a DD and above." The Bounceless Bra (313704) is an example of this type of bra.
What if I want compression and encapsulation?
"We've got you covered. Some sports bras, like the Wicking Sports Top (310110) do both. So you get lots of support without that pancake problem."
How do I know how much support I need?
"You choose. Do you want twice as much as your regular bra? Five times? Ten times? There's a style for you, no matter what you're looking for." Just follow the bra bell ratings.
What if I sweat like a pig, I mean glow a lot, when I'm working out?
"You'll want to make sure to choose a moisture-management fabric like CoolMax, and then look for lace or mesh construction to facilitate airflow." Check out the Super Cooling Meshbra (310131).
What can I do about chafing?
"Avoid cotton. Look for silky fabrics and seamless construction. Also make sure you have a nice snug fit."
Help! To get enough support I wear 2 or even 3 sports bras.
There's a reason we call it the Last Resort Bra (313801). But that's not your only choice. Check out the Frog Bra (310900), the Wicking Sports Top ( 310110) or the Sports Top for Larger Breasted Women (310305).
Nursing Bras in a sports catalog? Are you kidding?
Just because you're nursing doesn't mean you can't work out. With The Best Nursing Bra Ever (351831) and the Get-Up-And-Go Nursing Bra (354731) you get sports bra comfort with nursing bra convenience.

And with that - I also have 'big girls' (34 C/D) that need a LOT of support, and I do NOT care for the 'compression' type of bra at all - that uniboob look just doesn't suit me! My all-time favorite sports bra - one that gives me comfort, support AND durability (i.e. I can just toss it in the washer and dryer) and lasts for YEARS (I have some that are over five years old - a tad big now but I still wear them on low-impact days) is a bra sold at Title 9 as "Sport Top for Larger Breasted Women Only" but I generally buy 'em at Lady Footlocker or REI. It's made by Champion, and I used to see it at Macy's but it hasn't been there in quite awhile. Here's a couple of photos:
