Default What is CKD??

Hi,

I have been a lurker for a very long time. I am curious as to what CKD is??

CKD is a ketogenic diet and training program that a bunch of us have started recently. Some of us here post/lurk at the BFL Winners board and picked it up from there.

CKD = Cyclical Ketogenic Diet - basically you cycle from low-carb to high carb - Monday through Friday is low-carb, high fat and protein, then there's a carb up period that lasts 24-36 hours. Of course weight training is (as always) an intregal part of this plan.

Personally I was ready for a change...I think we all need to shake things up periodically. I must say that eating stuff I haven't eaten in ages has been a LOT of fun this week - butter...egg yolks...cheese...and this afternoon I start my big carbup...of course weight training will ALWAYS be a focal point of any fitness program I do!

I'm sure some of the other gals will chime in here...

I did my first BFL challenge about 2.5 years ago. Now I maintain at about 16%. I have done a fair number of programs and still change my nutrition ratios often.

I kept reading about the CKD and just couldn't figure out what it was. I help other people with weight training and nutrition so it is interesting to keep learning.

You are very much an inspiration, and have done an incredible job. Great job!
