I get Grow! (made by Biotest) at www.netrition.com. Other sites may carry it but I've never looked.

Default Protein powder

I like HDT ProBlend 55 in Chocolate Mocha or Alpine Vanilla, available from netrition.com. I have problems with many artificial sweetners, and these do not use any of the sugar alcohols or aspartame.

I am using Vitamin World's Precision Engineered whey protein powder. I like the strawberry flavor mixed in with crystal light lemonade after dinner and the chocolate one blended in with water and a banana in the morning. One mix that I tried that was AWFUL was strawberry mixed with applesauce. I was trying to get a taste similar to Mott's fruit flavored applesauce. Yick!

Ok bumping this

I have a question to you GROW users out there......do you use the low-carb GROW, or the MRP GROW? I noticed the two kinds and I am thinking of trying it. I know Vitamin Shoppe carries the low - carb (where I usually shop) and they have a great return policy if I don't like what I get.

I tried the EAS Myoplex Capp Ice - blechh!!! :P I know a lot on here like it, but I just could not stomach the taste. I do love the MET Rx PP, but the MRP's I have been using from them are becoming too rich tasting, not to mention I found out after I got them and had been drinking them for a while that they have ingredients I do not care for. When I finish them I will probably switch to straight PP only.

Thanks for your help!!

Robin

Default I love my shakes!

My MRPs are my favorite meals of the day! I usually have 1/2 Capuccino Ice Myoplex lite mixed with one scoop (15 grams protein) chocolate MetRx for meal 1. I like the chocolate mint flavor Myoplex lite (also mixed with MetRx) for meal 6. I sometimes pour some of the morning shake on FiberOne cereal (I started this when I was doing Body Rx -- I know Fiber One isn't a BFL food.)

I like the Ultra Pure Protein RTD in chocolate (available at Trader Joe's and through Netrition.) It's about 35 grams protein and 4 grams carb -- not my usual amounts but good for taking to long meetings.

I must be one of the few people who doesn't like chocolate Grow. I ordered a container of the low carb (the one people usually get, I think) but it was too sweet for me and my husband had to finish it up.

Default GROW!

Robin -- I've only tried the low-carb GROW! and I do love the chocolate mixed in my oatmeal. I haven't tried the regular (way too high calorie and carb for me) but a bodybuilder I know says that the regular is the best-tasting PP out there.

Carrie -- sadly, I have yet to met anything that is too sweet for me.

Hey Mel, do you find that the HDT is high in calories? That was the ONLY protein powder I could handel, and even that was tough. When I started talking to people about the calories in it they just about flipped on me..lol

Right now I'm stuck on Pro Lab Wild Berry. It has 3 carbs per serving and I add frozen strawberries to it (except these 2 SBD weeks, I'm not adding them and I miss them terribly ). I also add UpCalD (calcium), Udos, and BeneFiber. It packs quite the punch in the morning.

I like Designer Whey Natural because you can add whatever you want to it and make it taste like what you want. You can add SF choc or van or you can go with a berry taste and add frozen berries and splenda and have a mighty tasty drink (I add strawberries, a hint of blueberries and one or two raspberries).

I've been on a complete berry kick for a while now. I just love the berry drinks. I like Berry Blast by Met Rx but it's really thick. I prefer the thinner protein drinks and find that if I can find the berry flavors in the large tubs I can mix them for great flavors. I think there is some kind of raspberry and strawberry left over from other mixes that is mixed in my present Pro Lab container.

I just ordered Nectar Protein samples because I've heard that's very good. I expect shipment tomorrow and I'll let you know.

My favorite Vanilla is MetRx Classic Vanilla. I don't really like anything chocolate so I'll abstain on that. I also like the Myoplex Orange Jubilee. If you mix Vanilla SF Jello Pudding in it, it tastes like a Creamsicle!
