Welcome back rabbit

And big kuddos to everyone for those workouts!

Nelie- Trx has always looked like run. What do you anchor it to?

Hit a post-injury PR on dead lifts last night- it's kind of bittersweet. 250 for 5- I used to do more, but it's taken me a year to work back to that. Now I need to rehab shoulders. Ring dips completely fried my right one yesterday. Sigh.

Oh My. Nice job Mel!

Still getting things out of the truck. Boys are still on air matresses and I'm doing laundry day and night. But I love it.

Drove over to CrossFit Alexandria to see how long it would take as a commute. A very doable 17 to 20 minutes. Easy drive too. Well, easy for here. Cheryl, you are right, they do have a stellar reputation. I've been eyeing this place as well as the one in Old Towne for a couple of years before I had any idea I would be leaving Columbus. This is a definite bonus. It's REALLY expensive though. Wow. I think I'll do a local gym until the boys are in school and then I'll make the commitment. It will also give my knee a little more time to solidify.

Funny thing about all of this work, I'm maintaining and even fluctuating downward on the scale. I have a feeling though that it's probably more of a lack of fluid retention from a lack of lifting.

Oh, and Rabbit: Nice to see you back from vacation. Get some rest!

Sacha: Hope you are getting some good nights rest! Give that beautiful babe a hug from all of us.

Nelie: TRXs look so cool. I've thought about ordering them a year ago to add to my small group training. Maybe I'll ask for it for Christmas. It reminds me a lot of the things I could do at a gym that specialized in Functional Training. Yep, Mel, you were right. I do miss that place.

K. Gotta make sure the boys are showered. I'm such a task master.

Have a great morning everyone.

Mel - We attached the TRX to our weight system thingamajig. Actually, its a funny set up, to set it up as high as we could, we had to put it on the barbell which cradles on the top so that you can do pullups from it (hard to explain). My husband wanted to make sure that it didn't slip out of the cradle, so he used some straps (like you'd use on a roof rack) to keep the barbell in place. Of course if I want to use a barbell at home, I'm either going to have to dig my olympic one out or undo the straps.

Lydia - How much is Alexandria? I pay $195/month. I about died when I found out it cost that much. Of course to top it off, Ballys recently sent me a letter to renew my lapsed membership, $99/year.

Boys showering? What is this world coming to? Child abuse! Mine's 13 and still acts like I'm raking him over the coals when I insist he brush his teeth after EVERY meal (cruel, I know!).

Got almost 9 hours of sleep straight through last night, wow! Usually I can't sleep past 4 hours lately, so I didn't bother to set an alarm. I did wake about 1am but just closed my eyes and tried to sleep and it worked for once. So, I'm feeling pretty good now!

Mel, 250 for five, I bow to your buffness! The strongman contest got bumped back to Nov 6th, so if you're not busy, maybe you should come over and clean up, lol! I know the ring dip feeling...the last time I tried those, I did something to pec minor and it's still pissed about it. I'm steering clear of ring dips till it's all healed.

Gym this morning, heading in a little later since I'd thought we were painting at the new gym afterward, but that got postponed again. So just gym, home for lunch, then some weedwacking and weather sealing a garden shed for work this afternoon. Have a good one, ladies!

But Nelie, they don't let you drop barbells or cuss out your workout at Bally's. It's not that expensive here. Most sit around the $100-120 for monthly, and I think the On Ramp is $185 at our gym now. A lot of CFs offer military discount, Lydia, so if you qualify, be sure to ask about that. Knocks the price down quite a bit at our gym.

Cheryl - I think Mel said her CF prices were about that price. Unfortunately, we live in an expensive area. I'd heard my county was the most expensive county to live in the US but it turns out that Lydia's county is listed as the most expensive one We are number #6 or so. (according to Forbes)

Great. Let me jump and click my heels over that one. I'm cringing over the price of my fresh berries at the grocery. So far though I really do like the location.

Okay. The CF price. I believe it's...
Monthly unlimited 225/month
195/month with 6month commitment
175/month with 12 month commitment

I have to look at this a little differently though. For me, it's not just a workout option. I am all about learning it correctly. Small group and personal training is expensive. It's an add on to a typical gym membership. Given that, the CrossFit pricing structure is more understandable.

G*D right now I just need to get this truck unloaded and house put together. OMG. This is serious ladies.

Actually those prices are slightly cheaper than ours, ours is $225 for no contract, $195 for 12 month. So I went with 12 month. And I definitely equated it to the cost of getting small group training.

I'm getting a deal! $129/month unlimited. I thought my county was pretty expensive! But definitely not up there with the Washington burbs.

Shoulder/bicep/delt insertion is most unhappy. I couldn't do push presses at any weight tonight. I think my subbed workout was harder than the regular WOD, tho

The Crossfit prices sound pretty reasonable. My private gym just went up to $400 a month (so anything that starts with a 1 sounds better than that!), that's 3 workouts a week. DD is going to college and DS #1 wants to start lifting, so it seems like a good time to cut the cord with the private gym and do something else. I toured the local meat market gym at 5:30 tonight and it was PACKED. But they have a little area for Olympic lifting and a ton of dumbbells. I'll just have to go at a time that it's not packed. Plus there's an indoor pool and lots of classes. I might try spinning I suppose. Our Crossfit is more of a drive than I care to do.

Hang in the Sacha. I recall the hot red scrunched up faces of my DS's at that age too. There was a short time in which I forget what their "calm baby" face looked like. And loud! Amazing how strong those little lungs are. No real advice here except just know it's a phase..poor little guy. And poor you!

, Sacha. Hang in there. For the colic, have you tried turning on your vacuum cleaner? Sometimes the noise helps calm the kiddo.

Aw thank you guys for all the support, Mel Lydia & midwife, sometimes I wonder how people get the urge to have more than one, LOL!!!

It's total teething, I can see the white spots on the gum, constant drooling in the past 2 days, will only take the sucker on the bottom right corner of his mouth (he hates the sucker at all times except now), and of course the fussiness :P

Luckily, I got to go to the gym today for an hour! Yay! DH took care of the baby. I have a full gym at work so I decided to use that instead of trying to workout at home, lol.

Today was military press, DB press, laterals, shrugs, upright rows, felt good :-)
