Default Workouts in magazines

I LOVE the fitness mags..Shap, Fitness and Oxygen..
Do you feel the workouts in these mags are a good idea to follow for variety?
Also it seems that Oxygen is geared more towards fitness comptetion ladies..DO you think these workouts are too tough for a beginner to use?

I do some of the shape workouts once in a while and I like them. I think they are interesting. I think they are actually more geared towards a beginner.

I think Oxygen is probably the most serious and professional mag out there. I know alot of people think Shape and Fitness are pretty much a joke - more about beauty and fashion than hardcore nutrition and training. I think any reading is good reading, esp. for a beginner, and as you progress you will find some that appeal to you over others. They are all good and Shape has been around since the 80's or late 70's, so it has alot of staying power.

I use a lot of the moves taken from the Oxygen workouts when I train clients. The Shape workouts are geared towards a beginner, IMO. If you are a beginner, that's a great place to start!

I love Oxygen magazines... A lot of the magazine, others are okay, but, is focus on beauty and fashion...and that fine..but I'd like to see more of the Oxygen type magazines.

What I dislike about a several magazines currently on the market...is the advertisements, implying that if I do a certain exercise for 30 days, 5 minutes a day, I can have SIX PACK ABS ... or if I perform a certain exercise in 30 days I'll look like the individual on the cover.

I think I will start buying more of the oxygen mags.
What about Muscles for her(Or something like that)
I was just a little afraid of those because I was not sure if they were appropriate for me....
Thanks..

I use Oxygen all the time, I particularly like some of their "special" issues that show only Leg workouts or nutrition ...

Don't be afraid to experiment Amy, have fun with workouts, adjust them to your level...

Silverose, the other one you mentioned is Muscle and Fitness, Hers. They have a website and it's available in the bookstores, but I don't think they offer subscriptions. I like it as much as Oyxgen because they good pictures and emphasize form. Overall, the magazine is more about fitness than fashion/beauty. It has come and gone a couple of time, and now that I think about it, I haven't seen a new issue in awhile. I hope it hasn't folded again.

I just checked ... not only has it not folded, you can now subscribe (maybe you always could .. I just didn't know).

Hey Airrgirl long time no see... I'm pretty sure too that a couple of years ago Muscle and Fitness, Hers, had stopped publication... But I've seen it in the stores lately for the last few months...

Glad you bought those mags Silver... I was looking at the Glutes one the other day, and it's not as good as the one they had last year, but it is still good though... The one last year was awesome you can buy it on line....

Wowzer! Amazing glutes!

I've been working on home leg workouts and it is quite different from working out in a gym. Last week though my booty was sore for 3 days so I think I must be doing something good. Last night I did a leg workout and this morning my thighs are sore.

nelie -- I did a workout at the gym today that really didn't require any "gym" equipment except a few dumbells ... My butt is sore
