  • Well done Pat!

I've been kickboxing this morning which was great - worked up quite a sweat too then I've lazed around in the bath, and read and not done a lot else - oh I stocked up on fruit and veg for the next week so that's done now!

I had some bizzare dinner, whole wheat spaghetti with a home-wrecked cheese sauce!!! I nuked fromage frais, cottage cheese and lf grated cheddar and to see what happened! It was edible but it really separated out, so ended up draining the thick globby cheese thing into the sink, then tried to kinda spread the globby cheese onto the spaghetti tasted good anyway!

Happy Birthday Pat for tomorrow - are you doing anything special apart from your holiday in a couple of weeks? I've booked myself in for a massage, but they've only got appointments for next weekend, which is fine by me! That means I can eat cake and go to galleries and jazz clubs tomorrow :
  • I'm feeling a lot better, but still wasn't feeling quite up to the HIIT today, so I subbed my FAVORITE step class (double step! woo hoo!). Eating is still right-on for the new year, although I did discover today that shrimp in Fitday have SIGNIFICANTLY more calories than they do on the package of frozen shrimp. . .but ate them early enough in the day that I can still work out the calories w/ no harm done.

Tomorrow is legs and hopefully another step class (I do love step), or maybe I'll suck it up and do the HIIT I didn't do today. I want, just for kicks, to try one of those one-legged squat things Meg posted about, but I don't know if I want to get stared at that much.

I'm considering having a slight cheat meal tomorrow night. . .not BAD, but maybe just a steak that's a bit bigger than my official palm-sized portion, and I would say a glass or two of wine, except that I just saw my husband wandering around with what I suspect to be the last glass, so maybe a beer. It would be my first off-track eating of the new year, and maybe it's not so bad if I keep it to once a week. . .or am I just justifying things???
  • And a happy birthday to you to my young kickboxing friend! I am doing nothing special tomorrow, but we are planning to go out to dinner and movie next Sat night in Anchorage, as our plane leaves from there at 1:30 am on Sunday morning. Our wedding anniversary is the 22nd, so we usually only do one dinner - all my waistline and our wallets need!

So I went to the Team in Training meeting this afternoon and signed up to walk a 1/2 marathon in San Diego! in June. If I can't do that (there's a possibility of a work conflict), I'll do a 1/2 in Anchorage. Need to raise much less for that one, too. The official kickoff is not until the 27th, which is the day after we get home from vacation, and the first official with-the-coach training is 2/3. I'm excited, but don't think I'll get into the fund-raising until I get back.

Not much else happening here this weekend. It's COLD (-6 this morning), but no more snow for, um, nearly 3 days! I shouldn't complain - after all, I could live in Denver! I'm thankful we don't stop there on our way south, too.
  • Happy birthday, Pat and Jenfrus!
  • Thank you!

I had chinese! Oh and cake Oh and DH bought me 3 boxes of chocolate Is he mad Luckily they are ones that I can eek out for a while...

I'm back in the gym today for benches and abs, and I'm going to do some HIIT and some plyometric jumping stuff.
  • Happy Birthday, Pat and Fru!

It's warm and raining here. Very bizarre.
I just did a quick 20 minutes on the elliptical, then will head to the gym after a clean up for clients and LEG day.

Food is on, but the scale is stuck again The water all left, but that's all that seems to leave.

    Mel
  • Leg day Sing the leg day song... It's leg day Woah it's leg day...

    It's my leg day tomorrow

I'm off for chest and abs and plyos ta ta!
  • Good Morning LWL

MEL: We had the rain all day yesterday so I guess you get it today. At the moment there is a sun ray coming through my kitchen window. I'll enjoy it while it lasts...

FRU and PAT: Happy birthday Ladies!!!! Oh, cake, cake, bring on the cake!

During the rainy weekend my family was struck down with the stomach flu. Mine was earlier in the week and DH and DS got sick on Friday. Today everyone seems to be doing better so it's clean up day for Mom. Where's the Lysol? I've got beds stripped, and the bathroom cleaned. Next is the area rug by the couch. DS had his little mishap all over the area rug while my sister was here with her newborn. Nice. My three year old started to get dry heaves and my sister bolted with a look of horror on her face.

No gym workout for me until Wednesday. That's okay. I went in for an ubwo yesterday afternoon and felt a little weak. I must still be recovering from this virus too.

    Have a great week everyone!
  • Happy birthday, birthday girls!

I didn't have my cheat last night - my body just didn't want it! That is 7 straight days of 100% clean eats for me!

Did UBWO & 30 min elliptical this morning.

This week may be a bit challenging - my boss is in from Edmonton, which normally means business lunches, business cocktails, etc. - but he knows I am doing BFL so I bet I can make my excuses & be just fine.

Here I go for Day 8 of clean eats. . .
  • No cake here. The girls at work got me one on Friday. It wasn't very good and mostly I pushed it around on the plate. It's the thought that counts anyway, right?

I just realized that I cannot do the San Diego half marathon! Boo. I am on the organizing committee for another event the next weekend. The rest of them would hang me if I took off the weekend before.... So I've emailed them to change my event to a 1/2 marathon in Anchorage on June 23. Gives me another 3 weeks to train too - as well as less $$ to raise.

It's still below zero here - never went above yesterday. No relief til at least Wed. Of course, when it warms up, it nearly always snows. But we're up to 6 hours of daylight today. Yay!!

Off to the gym for some cardio tonight. I may also do the power pump class if the instructor is there - she was off sick last week. And we just found out that our first hotel in Costa Rica has a gym, so we can start out the trip with exercise anyway.

Have a great day all. Hope your family is feeling better Lydia.
  • Hi Pat: Sorry to hear about the cake. What a pity that you had to push it around on your plate. If your ever in town stop by and I'll bake a proper one for you. Or maybe I'll cheat and go to Whole Foods...

The family is doing better as the day progresses. The sunshine stayed around today so I sent DSs out for some fresh air while I disinfected everything. I ran out of Lysol so I think I'm done for the day.
  • Hi LWL,

Frus and waterrat .. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

Rabbit reporting in...hands still in flare up. Presently it is the top joint of 1 finger that is red & swollen, and several other joints that ache. Furthermore I got a cold that went to my sinuses, so yesterday I spent a lot of time steaming and now I'm taking a lot of rest, drinking a lot to prevent worse.

Eating is fairly clean (not much appetite) with DD bringing me hot tea and hot soup. Exercise: I did a morning of yoga and eyetoy kinetic with DD yesterday, but I skipped power class today.

    have a great day all,
    rabbit
  • Ugh, Lydia that sound horrid. I'd strangle my sister if I had one. The sun finally came out here too. My dh had it over Christmas through New Years. He lost 8 pounds. I almost tried to catch it

How's Columbus today? My dd said she and her friends were doing "heavy duty resting" on the weekend for tonight (and they are the sane ones in grad school). I'm all decked out in my OSU sweatshirt and t-shirt as my gym uniform today.

My legs are getting nice and sore. I really want some very NOT CLEAN FOOD. RESIST...resist...

    Mel
  • RESIST YOU CAN DO IT!
  • Lydia, it was a store-bought cake, so I didn't feel quite as badly as I would have with a homemade one. Glad to hear your family is on the mend. My DH has what is likely the same thing (as it seems to be going around the country) when we were in Maine at Thanksgiving. Poor guy got to look at Thanksgiving dinner, which was an improvement from 2 days prior when we were out with friends and he had to leave the table - couldn't even look at the food. He lost about 5 pounds, but it came back once he could eat again.
