and good thing I did, because I had a feeling if we didn't tell them, they would feel left out and upset. I was right!!! Mother in law called this afternoon asking what the surgery is and how long recovery time is.
I was glad she called, we haven't had the greatest relationship.
What was your recovery time? How long were you on liquids after the surgery?
Did your motherin law think that wls was a good idea for you?
I had the lap rny on August 11th of this year. My surgeon pushed me food wise quicker than any one else I have heard about. I was on clear liquids for 48 hours, full liquids for another 48 hours and then went on to soft and mushy foods. After one week he told me I could eat salad....I didn't do that until I was about 4-5 weeks out...I just didn't feel like eating it. Now I eat just about everything but if the meat/fish/chicken is too dry it tends to feel like it is getting stuck and it is uncomfortable.
Follow YOUR doctor's orders unless they don't stress protein.
I felt sore and tired for the first 3 weeks. I felt a little better every day. After 3 weeks I felt terrific and got some energy back.
Jiffy,
Now that I'm finished laughing. No my MIL didn't offer any help. I told her that my mom took 3 weeks off of work to help with the kids and house. She said oh I wondered what you were going to do then asked about how long recovery was. My hubby did say there is a chance we wouldn't be down there for Thanksgiving it's an hour in a half drive.
