    How are you all doing?

    Debkay...your dh got home ok?

Wrestling camp for the big kid today...foot ball practice tonight...he is going to be one tired puppy. The little guy is still asleep and I will have to wake him shortly so that he does not stay up to all hours.

School is in 9 days....not that I am counting or anything!!!

    Marsha....how many more days?

I felt better yesterday drinking a protein drink in the morning and one in the late afternoon. Today I am going to be real adventurous and try some Wendy's Chilli....does life get any more exciting than that?

    love,

  • Today is John's 40th Birthday!

He is so happy to be 100 lbs. lighter, he claims he feels better than he did on his 30th Birthday.

Long weekend, tons of partys and today was the first day of school. Man can I go back to bed now?! LOL!
  • Morning!

yes peachie, he made it home yesterday afternoon. I really did miss him and for once, he brought presents! He went to Harrod's and purchased me a nice earring and necklace set..........than he had to complain about how expensive things at Harrod's are Welcome home dear!

Boy your big kid is one busy big kid! Poor fella is going to be worn out, he will get more rest when school starts.

    Luna, Happy Birthday to John!

Hazel and I walked today, but this time instead of walking in the malll we walked around the mall, outside. We thought it was a good idea to get used to walking outside as we plan to walk in September at the "Walk From Obesity." Looking forward to it.

    have a good one
  • Friday morning will be here before I know it. I am very excited and glad to read the pop quiz posting. I have not been on the computer for the last few days because The modem got fried by lightning last thursday.

Went to the support group last thursday evening what a nice bunch of ladies and one gentleman. They meet once a month. Both lap Rny and Lap band My Dr does both. The meeting was very informative. Marsha
  • Hi Y'all.

Deb - I don't want to hear it! Not one word! Shush! (Imagine me with a finger held to my lips) Only I can say my Rockies suck - you don't get to!

I am a basketcase. Tomorrow at 5 a.m. I am taking my sweet son to college. His school is about 8 very mountain-y hours away from here. He's driving his car and I'm driving mine because we want him to have a car at school. I've never been an overly emotional person, but all summer I've been crying at the mere suggestion of his leaving. I've learned that all the cliches are around for a reason - they're true! Kids really do grow up in the blink of an eye. They really are your baby for a very short time. Suddenly, my cute little boy is a big honkin' man! I keep feeling like there's things we didn't do and things I haven't taught him, but I suppose that's natural. This is really painful! I keep telling myself that my job as his mom is to raise a human being who can venture out into the world and be a successful, happy, productive adult. I hope we've done that...choke...sob...sniffle. I wish my husband could go with us, but he has to stay home and take care of our daughter because she started 8th grade this week.

It's a good thing you guys don't mind me rambling on about everything in the world except for weightloss - which is the purpose of this board. That battle is for another day!

Your soggy, teary, partially empty-nested Chickadee
  • Chickadee, two things.........

    1. I would never say anything bad about the Rockies.........I  reserve ALL my bad words for the Yankee's (and the Met's, when they have more than a Little League team.)

    2. You just cry on our shoulder's any time you want. They are always our babies, I don't care if they are 6ft tall and weigh 200 pounds!

My older two stayed at home. Oldest son is trying to get back into his paramedic program at the Tech College. My middle child is almost ready to finish up his 2 year at the Community College, he will than transfer to a 4, to finish up. Part of me hopes he can live at home and the other part............. Now daughter is a Senior this year and already plans to go away. I have told her she can go no farther than 2 hours away. "I" have picked out 5 nice schools for her to apply to

Marsha, Friday will be here in a blink of your eye. What type of bowel prep does your doc require. My surgery was scheduled for a Monday, I did the bowel cleansing on Friday. Saturday and Sunday I could have nothing but liquids. Fun, fun

    Back later
  • Marsha! You must be very excited! Glad to hear you found a support group that you like. Post when you can!

Chickadee, big huge hugs to you! My kids are little and I just can't picture them going away. Drive carefully!

Debkay, glad your dh got home ok! What does the necklace look like? I bet it is pretty. Yea, I understand the "expensive" comment! Mine and dh's 15 year anniversary is on Thursday. We never have any money at the end of August....always, interesting..

I have to scoot and get the kid ready for camp. I have hair dye on my head and had everything timed to the minute. I EVEN asked dh when he was going to get in the shower...and the big rat is in there NOW....and my hair is COOKING grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

    peach
  • I have absolutely nothing to daa, or anything to say. But just wanted everyone to know I was here!
  • Daughter came home from first day of third grade with some interesting news! "We have a new boy in my class, he has hair this long (motions to butt) has his ear pierced twice, and has his nose pierced!" Good lord! In 3rd Grade now? I am feeling VERY OLD!

Son, does not start pre-school until Sept. 8th and is VERY SAD that his sister gets to go to school all ready.

I'm just looking at all the meeting that are all ready rolling in for the Month of September. Time to break out the date books and get to filling it up! LOL!

    Diane
  • Dear Deb... My Dr has recomended liquids on thursday and a laxative thursday afternoon. with Friday morning 7:30 surgery. This week has been very hard because I want to be in the best health that I can be and not gain weight and thinking of the things that I will not be able to eat for a long time. and trying to resist them. Also thinking about my last supper Thinking that it will be a good steak. Also that the tomatoes are in and bacon lettuce tomato sandwich sounds really good. Dilemas all the way around. Thanks for letting me vent. Marsha Ps will I be bloated with a lot of gas when I leave the hospital. What should I wear?
  • Well, I suppose if I'm going to be a part of the group, I need to just jump in and participate, huh?

My week is just crazy! I have a home business where I sell stuff by doing home parties. This has been a pretty slow month, which is unusual for me, and then I realized this weekend that it's been slow because most of my parties for the month are scheduled for THIS WEEK! I'm certianly not complaining; I love what I do, and quite frankly, I need the business, but I feel like I'm going six ways to Sunday this week! Could someone tell me which end is up, please?

I'm also spending this week mentally preparing for the next big, scary step in motherhood. Yep, my oldest is starting kindergarten next week! Where in the heck has the time gone?

Anyway, I guess that's about all that's going on in my neck of the woods...
  • hodegard: What do you sell? Tupperware? Home Interiore? Partylite? Let us know I might need something!!! I used to sell Christmas Around the World by party plan and I loved it, but for some reason, I quit. Then I sold AVON for about 5 years and that became too big a hassle, so I quit, but I still love stuff like that!
  • grammy... you won't have gas when you leave for the surgery. as for the last supper, go ahead and enjoy, but remember that you will get it all back within a year. the deprivation is temporary.

wish i could say more, but gotta scoot.. work is bellowing.

but i HAVE to tell you aLL... just got back from the pulmonologist [for my second sinus/bronchitis in 6 weeks] with him putting me on antibiotics for 3 weeks. but the REAL NEWS IS: a new weight loss total, and i was SHOCKED!!!!

down another 8 pounds in the last 3 weeks: for a grand total of 281 GONE!!!!!
  • Dear Ageoldie....When did you sell Christmas Around the world. I was a Regional Manager when I left in 1991.

Jiff I meant will I be bloated when I go home from the hospital. And that is great about the weight loss.

    Love to all Marsha
  • Well, Had the steak dinner and now I wished that I hadn't. It was a lot better in my mind than on the plate. The steak was a strip steak and Great hash browns and a good salad. Now it is sitting in my stomach like a lump. Just ate 3/4 of the steak and about 3/4 cup of the hash brown and a salad bowl of salad. Some cucumber salad. and Ice tea for a drink. I think that in my head is where I am going to store all of the good memories about food because when I taste them this week they sure do NOT hit the spot

I truley am excited about the surgery. a little scared too I think that that is natural. I will just pray hard that all will be well. Thanks for letting me vent. Marsha
