Unhappy fell of the wagon, then it backed over me a few times and took off like a shot...

... now I am just trying to catch up to it so I can climb back on.

That means starting over. *sigh* It's getting really hot here and that totally ruins my desire to workout and if I'm not working out... what's the point of dieting? Well, that's the evil my brain says to me.

It doesn't help that the fiance is stressed out and refuses to stick to a diet either.

I guess tomorrow I should go ahead and weigh in. This really sucks as I'm really wanting pasta and I have no idea if my spaghetti squash scheme wil work or not.

I need some thinspiration!

What's the point of dieting? They say that results are 80% diet (the foods you put in your body) and 20% exercise. THAT'S the point of dieting.

Eat pasta if you want it. I sure as heck never gave it up, pasta is the YUM. I just got a little food scale and actually measured out 2 oz of uncooked pasta. It's not that big, so I make sure I have plenty of healthy tomato-based sauce (no more cream sauces!) and a nice salad.

Don't give up...
I haven't been able to work out for a couple of weeks due to health reasons and major stress but I haven't given up on my diet. I am just a little more careful on how much and what I eat.
I know when the time is right and I feel up to it again that I will jump right back on that tredmill and do what needs to be done.
Point is don't give up on yourself you will know when your ready again.
It will be worth sticking to the diet and you will be happy you did in the long run!!!
Good luck!!

You don't have to start over. You'll never forget everything you've learned, so it's more a matter of just "pickin' it back up".
And mousie is right! You can eat less -or- move more -or- do both. Three ways about it.

Excercise is not a "requirement" to lose weight. I have RA and I can not exercise (water aerobics only) or weight train. No, it won't come off as quickly, and I'm not "toned" like those who work out regularly, but the weight still comes off at about 1.5 pounds a week. I do sit ups for my belly and that's helping redefine my waist. If you don't want to work out now, just start your diet. Once the weight starts coming off, it will probably motivate you to exercise more. I wish I could do Ti-bo (sp?) or pilates, but my joints are in bad shape, and stretching exercises will bring me to tears. I envy you guys who can.

Hop right back on the wagon with the rest of us. The weight will come off with sensible eating and you'll be so glad you did it.

Hey! You CAN do this!!!! The wagon is still in sight!

I just got back from vacation, believe me, I totally lost sight of the wagon!!!
But the important thing is that the wagon will always come back for you!

I LOVE spaghetti squash!!! YUMMMMM.... Have you tried it before? Let me know if you need cooking tips---I've even discovered how to easily cut a spaghetti squash after many efforts!

"It's getting really hot here...." Hey, that's NO EXCUSE to not exercise! You can always do indoors stuff. Use an exercise DVD or go to a mall for walking! Many malls even open early for people to go and walk.

I have arthritis in my knees, if I don't hit the stationary bike it REALY hurts. So, I DO have extra motivation it's just... so .... hot. *feints*

I am eatting spaghetti squash RIGHT NOW! AS I TYPE!!!

I find that it has no flavour (a plus) but the texture is more like stir-fried bean sprouts or thin cut cabbage than pasta. Wil it soften up and lose the crunch without going to mush if I cook it longer.

Oh and... I didn't weigh myself since I posted this til this morning and I was still 148ish, so that REALY helped me psychologically.

Would it help to set up one of those standing fans right in your face when your on your bike? I used to do that everytime I worked out. Now I just go to the gym and I have four fans in my face.

By the way, hot weather shouldn't be an excuse to not work out. Lol, sorry if I sound harsh but there's sooo many ways around it. Maybe you can do ur excercise early in the morning or in the evening when it's slightly-- if not much-- cooler than when the sun is high and glaring. I know working out is such a crappy thing to do instead of lying down on that nice coumphy couch, but don't you feel so proud of yourself after you actually went on that bike and got your workout done? Don't you feel refreshed, more energetic, in a better mood and it's like you've accomplished something? It's such a good feeling and if your doing something that's good for your mind AND body then why why WHY pass up the chance???

Best of luck to ye'!

Oh and Final Fantasy X rocks my socks!

ok, i too have leapt from the back of the wagon, and the CRAZIEST thing happened--i didn`t work out for about a week, and then after that, only once or twice a week because i was taking my finals, i started drinking soda again, and not counting calories (but always being mindful of how much and what i was eating), and i STILL lost a pound. i was completely shocked. don`t give up because you had a few bad days. i was not expecting to have lost anything, but i did. bad food and poor exercise and all. don`t give up, keep trying!

Hey, just jump right back on here! And I am one who understands about the hot weather draining you! It takes everything I've got to get out there and do my noon walking; and I need to do it on my lunch hour if possible since I am already gone 11 hours a day with the commute. It's hard but I've just told myself this is what I have to do if I want this fat off of me, which I do!

As for pasta... hey I eat it!! Not that often and not too much... I get the pre-cooked stuff and love it. I agree with you about spaghetti squash just not cutting it!!

There is room for you back on the wagon. Don't wait for "motivation" or "inspiration" -- it's a DECISION we have to make; if we wait for the feelings to appear we can be in for a long wait, as our feelings are very fickle and let us down.

I take spag. squash,,,cook for a bit 45 min.in over, (which in the summer is impossible-use the microwave,,10 mins should do it) Then add cooked chicken breasts that chopped up,,tomatoes and sprinkle with parm cheese,,,you can sprinkle so many different spices ,,,I love the parm and herb,,,garlic, Mrs. Dash has some fantastic spices also so what ever you like,,,through it back in the micro wave for a couple more minutes,,,let sit...so tasty.
