no late-night eating ... 71 days in a row ... another new world record !

whenever i wake up to turn off a light or go to the washroom the thought of a snack ALWAYS crosses my mind. i am definitely not hungry when this happens; i am just looking for that shot of "feel good" . it's also from so many years (decades, even) of habit, but my world record is so impressive to me that it's not too hard to fight the urge, it's over in less than a minute.

as planned, had sushi for dinner last night with no ill effects. 24 of 27 days on the evening coffee program have resulted in no morning headaches. the scale is now responding to my string of successes, so that's cool. may indulge in a muffin for dessert tonight.

    a 3 star day ... 7 in a row.

  • day 113 ...

no late-night eating ... 72 days in a row ... another new world record !

yesterday was a busy day and when that happens it's not uncommon for me to forget about water ... not this time. made sure i squeezed in a couple of glasses during the day so all is well there. dinner was extremely late and, to my great surprise, i felt full and was unable to finish it, leaving a half of a chicken breast ready for todays lunch. never did get to the bakery to buy a muffin, so i can definitely afford, calorie-wise, to eat one today. even woke the motorcycle up from it's winter hibernation and rode it around the block. still a bit cool out for that but riding season is only days away now. all in all, a good day. oh yeah, and 25 out of 28 days on the evening coffee program have resulted in no morning headaches; so there's that.

    a 3 star day ... 8 in a row.

  • day 114 ...

no late-night eating ... 73 days in a row ... another new world record !

the scale showed a 1lb. GAIN between yesterday morning and this morning. i am used to it being 'reluctant' to show a loss, but i think this is the first time it has ever shown a gain. a little unsettling, but i am staying the course and working the plan. this has always worked thus far. 26/29 days on "the program" have resulted in headache-free mornings.

my guilty pleasure these days is definitely cottage cheese. i can easily devour a 1lb. container of this each day and be wanting more. the 1lb. container carries a calorie load of 450 calories but since i am losing weight at very close to, if not over, the planned 1 lb. per week rate i guess i should be ok with it.

    a 3 star day ... 9 in a row.

  • day 115 ...

no late-night eating ... 74 days in a row ... another new world record !

had sushi for dinner last night. i consider this to be a bit of a "treat" due to the high calorie load of rice, so trying to keep the food fairly spartan today. the scale still hasn't taken back that extra pound that it carelessly tossed on me yesterday. 27/30 days with no headache.

    a 3 star day ... 10 in a row.

  • day 116 ...

no late-night eating ... 75 days in a row ... another new world record !

had a busy day AND drank enough water AND kept the snacking down so, all in all, the day went well, although i did indulge in a couple of buns for dessert so i didn't keep the calories down as low as i would have liked. i'm sure i still ran at a deficit though. 28/31 days with no morning headache.

    a 3 star day ... 11 in a row.

  • day 117 ...

no late-night eating ... 76 days in a row ... another new world record !

the scale took back that pound that it carelessly tossed at me a few days ago, so i am feeling a bit better about things. managed to stay away from buns/muffins/rice/potatoes yesterday so i think i can afford some hash browns with dinner today. or maybe i will bank those calories and have a muffin tomorrow. nice to be able to "afford" it.

another 3 star day ... that makes 12 in a row which ties the existing world record ! needless to say i am motivated to have a good day today so that tomorrow i can claim the world record as my own ! yeeeeeaaaaaahhhh !

a 3 star day ... 13 in a row and ANOTHER new world record !

really on a roll now. the nice weather helps as it moves me a bit further from the kitchen for longer stretches of time AND i have been diligent about getting some water when i do pass through the kitchen. water is my friend. vegetables are my friend. fruit is my good friend but i have to be careful about having too much of a good thing. frozen fruit, thawed and brought to slightly above room temperature in the microwave, is delicious !
didn't use up my "banked" calories so will probably do that today.

  • day 119 ...

no late-night eating ... 78 days in a row ... another new world record !

had a muffin for after-dinner dessert last night, as planned. the downside to having these "treats" is that they are never enough, they always leave you wanting more, and last night was no exception. got through it though.

morning headaches remain firmly under control by having a cup of coffee every evening around 8pm. the scale always responds nicely when i string together a bunch of 3 star days ... speaking of which ...

  • day 120 ...

no late-night eating ... 79 days in a row and another new world record !

last night after dinner i actually had the sensation of feeling full; this rarely happens so it's worth a mention. didn't stop me from feeling like having a snack around 2am though ... so there's that ... still.
chicken and fish, while delicious, does get a bit boring so will look for something a little different tonight. not sure what. maybe some sushi or just have a big salad and indulge in a couple of sourdough buns.
weather is forecast to be rainy for the next 7 days with MAYBE a few hours of sun on monday so that is going to be a challenge.

the good news ... a 3 star day ... 15 in a row and another new world record !

  • day 121 ...

no late-night eating ... 80 days in a row and another new world record !

had a muffin as planned and had just the slightest of headaches in the morning. i am pretty danged sure now that i am sensitive to wheat. as long as i don't eat half a loaf in one day like in the bad old days i should be fine.
ticking along on auto-pilot these days. wishing i could have a BIT more (junky) food but really, doing just fine . i keep reminding myself that food is not to be used as a drug, and that helps. also, water is my friend.

tonights indulgence may be a can of beans ... used to be called pork and beans but i think they dropped the pretense of it containing any pork.
