Default JUNE bug 2020

Hello!

Hey Joe: Are bar soaps a deterrent of deer in gardens? ...Maybe I should get out all the hotel soaps and dump them in the upper garden. I stopped at the local park to see if I they had gotten the plants I donated. They told me to put 4 egg yolks in a good size spritzer bottle and fill it up with water, mix, and spray it on plants as a deterrent to critters. (I wonder if Sulphur in the egg yolks is the critical ingredient. I have 6 potted cucumber plants that have been chewed off.

I am still off track food wise. I ate donuts, soda, fried chicken, chocolate...I am just hungry for everything.... No exercise last night, but I did a walk this am.

Well, I really need to get out and garden...I have too much to do...

Good morning! Sitting at 206 even today, not bad. Lifted heavy yesterday and am more sore than usual today but that's a good thing. Had breakfast and Dear Husband is off buying lobsters and clams to steam for my FIL's birthday today. We are doing a social distancing clambake for him today for his 90th!!! birthday. The guy is in better shape than most 70 year olds. Hope you all have a great day

nancy -- I love that quilt pattern but have never tried it myself. I stick to the non-curved patterns though I did do a sampler of 8 point stars that was ridiculously tough and it came out fine but I doubt I will do another any time soon. My son wants a complicated bargello for a wedding gift. Trying to figur that out now. Double wedding is one of those lovely old patterns <3 I have 16 hand pieced Dresden plates my grnadmother made that I want to applique onto muslin for a quilt but I never seem to get to it.

Lost another pounds by eating right and exercising. Trying to keep positive as I will hear more about what’s happening with my job tomorrow and Tuesday. I will check in even though I am on staycation. I love to break 220, let’s see what happens but let’s do it smart.
Today my focus is eating healthy, working on the yard, walk some, and watch some Mad Men episodes.
Gzgrl22 - you rock, keep it it. My dad is 93 and still lives in the same 4 bedroom house we grew up in Chicagoland. He can still slam a slab of ribs in one sitting, which is crazy. We found out his caretaker passed away 2 weeks ago due to COVID-19, and she was wonderful to him. I am hoping my family is ok at home.

yangtzer No the problem is because we were grandfathered in with having containers on the property. The new people go under the new ordinances so now they are not allowed. Everyone around us has containers and they were on the property for 40 years.

Hi Everyone!

Breakfast ( 330 calories & )
1 Siggi yogurt 110 calories
Fage Total plain 0% 90 calories
Cherries berries fruit 70 calories
chia seeds 60 calories

The large church behind us (our church) had fireworks tonight. The fireworks were set off on our back lot and we were able to sit in our parking lot and watch them. It's always the best seat in the house, a perfect view and really fun. So we had that tonight after church. We had a little cookout. Some of us walked around the church after eating.
20 minute walk (I was able to get my steps in today.)

Have a Blessed evening!

Default Good morning

Yangtzer Gangster, back from my weekend trip; had gone antiquing! Had a wonderful time; that was my vacation.

Nancy, I am done with the NS Plan and have been for about a month. I am just on my own now and counting calories. The NS Plan really helped jump start me from the plateau I'd been on for so long; I'm glad I invested in it. Did it 4 months total.

This past week I averaged 1338 calories. Did a lot of walking this past weekend.

Today's goals: 1200 calories, 2 liters water, veggies, fiber, calcium, treadmill &/or lift weights.

Morning, I binged last night. I lost my mind, with families around 24/7. Today's a new day.

Good Morning - yangster, I feel for you with the family stuff, especially over the holidays. It has become a huge stress bomb for me, but family is very important.
Yesterday I thought I did very well, 21K steps, workout outside on the yard for 2.5 hours (new gutters, bush trimming, weed pulling). I was 200 cals over target but burned way over that. We went to a virtual church service yesterday for the first time in months, and they recognized my daughter who graduated.

Breakfast: mulitgrain Cheerios, milk, Chobani black cherry yogurt, deli turkey, coffee with cream - 452 cal
Lunch: Broccoli with hummmus, turkey on a hot dog bun with Crystal hot dog (why this concoction? Why not?) - 314 cal
Dinner: Chef salad with buttermilk ranch dressing, sourdough bread, 2 IPA beers, almonds - 1315 cal (yes, I was hungry after all that work and exercise!)
Total: 2082 cal

Today, I will attend a virtual meeting on our team status, finding out what is going on with the company voluntary separation, and then walk 6 mi outside before it gets hot.

Copied from Crosswalk Devotions for Dieters

June 29

Philippians 3:8
. . .I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ.

A young man dreamed that he was standing before a table spread with a wide array of tantalizing foods. Beyond the table stood Jesus. The young man began eating the food, and he became com-pletely engrossed in his consumption. When he finished, Jesus was gone, and he didn't know where to look to find Him. Whenever we engage in gluttony of any kind, our attention is turned from Christ to our own selfish wants. There should be nothing more important in our lives than doing what is pleasing to God. He wants us to be the best we can possibly be. Food, and our love of food, should always take a second place to our love of the Lord.

Today's thought: Eating pleases me; dieting pleases God!
