First of all let me say that my thoughts and prayers are with those families and friends that lost loved ones on 9/11. God bless them and GOD BLESS AMERICA. pts for yesterday: 2 pts for program, 1 pt for exercise and 1 pt for water. Faye, 31 years of LOVE AND LUST!!! Missy,
About reserving rooms at B&Bs, we just called the night before we planned to stay somewhere......BUT we went in FEBRUARY! No problem finding vacancies. This time of year, I imagine you might have a bit more trouble. Go ahead and decide where you're staying the first night and make a reservation now. I don't know what time your plane gets there, but we got to London at 6:30 in the morning, their time. We thought we'd just get to the B&B around 4 pm.......we almost crashed the car, we were so tired! Jet lag is nothing to fool around with! Tell them that you will want to check in as soon as you get to town, even if it's early. That way you can take a nap, if you want. We slept in a parking lot because we didn't want to be "rude" and show up early! Also, make sure you CHECK THE DISTANCE on your map when going from town to town! We ended up wasting an entire day driving to the next B&B.......it didn't LOOK far on the map, but it does take longer to get places on those beautiful country roads. Don't try to do too much, and you'll have a much better time! Have fun! Julie |
Hi all
I am trying to get myself up to speed. Got 3 pts yday for OP and water. Still not well enough to exercise. Just too weak! The flu really zaps the life out of you. I'm going to try to do a mile today. I feel so blah from being sick. Missy.. I still havent heard from my friend in Ireland. Gonna shoot her another email. Hopefully I'll hear something before your plane boards. LOL To everyone else.. big hugs. |
Hahahah, thanks for all the wonderful advice girls! I will definitely take it all into consideration. My "travel companion" and I are meeting tonight to start the planning. It is considered the "low" season...(although Feburary! WHOA, it must have been cold)...but I hate to worry about not having a place to sleep. :)

Hi Girlies - I got 4 points yesterday - managed to get down to the gym.
Missy - did you get my PM about Ireland? Keep it up:strong: Amanda xx |
Amanda, I just got it! Thanks so much for the insights and help, I sent you a PM back! You are the best! Mwah!

PAM< AMANDA< SANDYB: YOU ALL GET: :bravo: :bravo: :bravo: for points!
Debbie: You sweet thing! Hope you are starting to come around feeling better. YOU GET A: :cp: for points! I combined a lot today, but I wanted to be sure and get them done and I am pressed for time. Amanda: Sex isn't everything! We are cuddlers too and there is great satisfaction in that as well. Just give him a big ole kiss and hug and remind him you love him everyday. One of the things my husband has done every day he has been in our home (when he wasn't out to sea or later traveling for business) in 31 years no matter whether we were furious at each other or not is he kisses me goodnight. If I am asleep, he will kiss my head, shoulder, whatever he can reach, but I am a light sleeper and I feel that kiss EVERY night. Gotta run girls, time to go get the ole hunka hunka burnin love from work. (God, he would die if he knew I was talking about him! He hates it!) Faye:) |
Missy, Last February in Maine was 30 below zero for weeks.....when we got to London, there were daffodils blooming and the temps were in the 60's/70's! It was heaven!! And it only rained once. We soooo hated to get back to the grey skies and dirty snow. (snow is so pretty when it's white, but by Feb. it's got so much sand and soot in it that it's just yucky.)
Well, gotta go. Julie |
HELLO LADIES...well,today has been nowhere near what i planned for it to be...it started out just fine ..got the kids off to school, hubby off to work, and then went to pick my daughter up and go run some errands and shopping, but after I picked her up ,we had barely got down the road,AND MY CAR CAUGHT FIRE...luckily a gentleman traveling in a semi truck blew his horn, pulled over and come running with his fire extinguisher hollering at us to get out of the car, that fire was comming out of the front bottom of the car,and about that time smoke and flames were comming out the dash,BUT THANK GOD MY DAUGHTER AND I GOT OUT OKAY...needless to say though,we had to call the fire department..the car was a total loss...so i have spent the rest of this day calling insurance company, getting our rental car,and trying to calm down...they seem to think it may have been an electrical short so far..it happened so fast and there was so many nice and so very kind people that stopped and helped..this whole day I have felt so out of it..I think the shock of all of it...but I refuse to let this get the best of me...I will stay positive and make the best of this...and tommorow will be a brighter day!.....well ...until tommorow ladies...love and hugs to all...Joy

Thank God you and dd are ok Joy! My gosh how scary and boy can I relate to that one. In Feb of 1989 we were traveling from here in Memphis to Lubbock Tx to my mil's funeral. She died suddenly and we had to borrow money to go and our car was pretty crummy and old and we had bought it used, but it was all we had. I remember the car started sputtering on the interstate so dh pulled into the next exit and went into a truck stop and got someone who came out and played with the fuel line and we got back in and took off and didn't even get back on the interstate and the car started on fire! Our children were terrified and we drove back to a convenience store and I ran in and got all the baking soda they had and went out to pour it on the car, but we couldn't get the hood up because the fire was BAD! It burned to the ground with all our possessions including travelers checks and my kids Christmas presents which they had brought along to keep them company and my son who was in high school's art portfolio which was supposed to be used to get him into a good art school and my wedding rings, which were in a jewelry bag in my luggage because the prong had bent. It was pouring rain, dh tripped and badly sprained his ankle, we bought a toothbrush for each of us and a comb to share and got the cheapest room at the motel across the street and had to PAY someone $40 to take us a few miles up the road in the morning to the bus stop where we spent all our money but $5 on bus tickets to Lubbock. The worst thing was my poor husband was grieving over his mom, worried about his family and what we were going to do to get back home (the car did not have liability so we got nothing and didn't have a ccard so could not rent anything to go home), and in a great deal of pain with his ankle. So, hon, I truly truly understand and sympathize. The great thing is it was insured and you weren't hurt! THINGS can always be replaced, people can't. Please accept all our good wishes for you and a little prayer for you from me.

Faye, thank you so sweetly...that was so helpful to how I feel, and you are right, the car can be so easily replaced...and everyone being so kind, that they pulled out everything from the car,and i mean stripped it down to my taz mats..one fellow even reached in and pulled out the mp3 player that my husband had installed for me,and he was so happy, cause he had payed quite a bit for it,and the big speakers too,so everything was saved...you are right though,it was truly scary....thanks for the prayer too...God has a reason for all that happens......Sandy....there is a site you can go to to order their vitamins, and you will also be able to learn about who he is...he lives here localy...go to www.themedicineman.com ...the ones that I take are called COMPLETE NUTRIENTS FOR 40+ WOMEN WITH EXTRA CALCIUM+D........THEY ARE GREAT AND I NEED THEM...they are also all natural...he also has for under 40...check them out...well it's late and I need to get off and get ready for the bed,as I feel drained from today...love and hugs to all..Joy:)

FRIDAY: Fabulous lbs Down Friday!
I am not even getting on the scale! I gave in to STRAWBERRY CHEESECAKE pie last night and messed up my fat UGH! I GET A: :high: for points. I guess I will be doing a makeup day this weekend. Check in later ladies. Faye:) |
Mornin' Ladies,
What a scary day you had yesterday, Joy! I'm so glad everyone is ok!!!! T ake it easy for a while, if you can. Well, I was a bit worried about getting on the scale this morning, but I HAD to do it. I"m 2 pounds down......woo hoo!! Not sure if this is a "real" loss or not, since my weight fluctuates wildly during the day. But I weigh at the same time every week, so I think it's probably kosher. Anyway, the journal and lower carb intake really helped, so THANKS EVERYONE for all the suggestions. DH has finally warmed up to the idea of counting calories, too. He even printed off a chart of calories burned for various activities. He shot hoops in the back yard for an hour last night because it said he'd burn 500 calories! I think he's figured out that he weighs more than me for the first time ever  We both need to get healthy soooo badly Yesterday, I got all 4 points....but it was only a so-so day. I taught my private dance lesson and counted that as my exercise. SO, it was a light day. But I'm not going to intentionally slack off this weekend, so I'm not worried about it. I'm planning a more intense workout for this morning. Upper body weights and treadmill......maybe a little jumprope in between. We'll see. My knees are starting to complain about all the treadmilling, I think it's time to get some new sneakers. I over-supinate when I walk, which means I walk on the outside edge of my foot. My shoes wear out unevenly and my knees and back start hurting when they get to a certain point. Poor DH doesn't understand why I have to have new shoes every 3 or 4 months when he's been wearing the same ones for 10 years  Well, time to get the kids to school......talk to you all later. Stay :strong: today everyone!! Julie |
