I can honestly say I don't think I have ever seen a woman look bad in heels, but just like Bras, MEN invented them so of course they are uncomfortable! Can you see a man walking around all day in a pair of high heels or in a bra that is climbing up? They would do what they do when they need to "re-arrange" just do it in public!

I would love to be able to wear high heels again. I bet I haven't worn heels over an inch high in 20 years. I will never look good in shoes as I am flatfooted, but I can dream I guess and that never stopped me anyway!

You ladies are all beautiful peaches!

Faye;)

Hi Ladies!

Wow, this thread has been busy! I got all my 4 points yesterday - went on the exercise bike for 35 minutes and did 13.5 km, although I took it a little slower than usual as my knee was a bit sore (water retention I think).

Faye: Congratulations on the sexy underwear! Whoo-hoo! So glad that you (and Jack) are reaping the benefits of all your hard work, you deserve it!

Ritu: Well done for trying out the treadmill! Did you go to the gym, or do you have one at home?

Joy: I'm so happy for you that you feel full of energy and vitality. One of the main reasons I started this quest to lose weight was because I was fed up of feeling so drained and lethargic. Now I have started exercising, I feel so much better in myself and it is definately true that the more exercise you do, the more energetic you feel.

Missy: Did I hear you say that you are going to Ireland? Whereabouts? I am planning to move to Ireland - I'm looking for a job at the moment, and as soon as I get one, I'm off! I went to the West coast last year, around Galway - we are hoping to move there or the South coast around Cork. Tell me your plans - I LOVE Ireland, it is so beautiful and the people are really friendly - you'll love it!

Pam, Julie, SandyB, Debbie-Lee (have I forgotton anyone?) - Keep at it girls - we can do this!

Wednesday woe : I want a job in Ireland and there doesn't seem to be anything about at the moment.:stress: :stress: :stress:

C U L8TER!

Hi again,

Sandy I know what u mean about this being a sort of home - I feel incomplete unless I've posted. What is fiday.com

I GOT MY 4 POINTS TODAY i.e. Wednesday and 4 FOR YESTERDAY i.e. Tuesday.

Debbie Lee, join the gang, I fall backwards these days when I try and walk in heels.

Faye, you have helped me for sure. I would never have attempted the treadmill today if it wasn't for all you lovely ladies inspiring me.

Joy, whew! I feel out of breath just reading about your activities.

Amanda, We went to Ireland on our honeymoon, well not exactly, we had actually gone to Italy and then we sort of jumped on a train and went off to Ireland. Those were the days! Maybe satin underwear will do the trick. I'd gone to see the physiotherapist to ask about which medicines I should carry for the pilgrimage on Saturday- apparently the climb is more than 30 km. Anyway she was trying to discourage me from going and then she sort of said why don't u try the treadmill here for 20 minutes - that will indicate the condition of your back. So I got onto the treadmill and I did it! I'm going back tomorrow for another 'conditioning' session

I'm feeling so good having been on the treadmill today that I can't think of anything I'd like to complain about..

I'm falling asleep, it's 2 a.m. over here. Shall dream of doing a scherezade in scarlet satin underwear.

Ritu

Amanda - I love you! I'm going to Ireland November 10-17 and I will be arriving in and departing from Shannon. At this point, that is ALL I know and I am getting NERVOUS! My one sorta-bf and I are going together and he is a TERRIBLE planner. Always leaves that to me b/c "I'm good at that kinda thing." Men! But we have vouchers to stay in B&Bs...I know a few things I wanna do, Giant's Causeway, Dublin, Cliffs of Moher, Bunratty feast, Guiness tour and of course, the Blarney stone. But we aren't sure how to approach it all. Ideally, I'd like for us to do a big "loop" around Ireland. Perhaps start to the north and then hit Shannon from the south on the way back. But I'm not sure if this is too ambitious for a week. We are driving ourselves as well. You shouldn't have told me you are an Ireland expert, cause now I'll be grilling you! :) I do have a few questions though. I have an ATM card with "Star" and "Plus" on the back, can I use that in Ireland without any problems? And what type of cllothing should I be wearing in November? Should I get some Euro's before I come over? Or just ATM at the airport? Sorry for all the questions, I'm just totally overwhelmed by this all. If you have ANY suggestions for restaurants, B&Bs, sites to see, etc., I would LOVE if you could help me out in your spare time. Heck, I'd even be happy if you gave me a mini itinerary. I have a hard time judging how long it will take to get places since the roads are smaller and stuff.

WHEW! Sorry for all that, I'm just getting a little stressed about my lack of planning for this trip! Thanks in advance Amanda.

Ritu - www.fitday.com is an online food diary. It's very helpful in tracking one's calories and exercise and even lets you monitor your progress. I really enjoy it!

Well girls, I'm going off to the gym. I'm on track for all 3 goals today, so I should be coming in right OP. But I'll let you know! ;) Night all!

Sandybrat 09-10-2003 05:42 PM

Thanks for clearing up that fidday stuff for me Missy...lol sometimes my mind gets ahead of my fingers...lol Yes, Ritu i really like fit day as well... it figures out everything for u... u just type in what u eat and what u do for exercise. Its easy and its fun... besides its a nice way to track your eating and progress without having clutter(LOL) I also understand completely what u mean about not feeling complete til u post... i feel the same!
the kiddlets are doing their homework now, so once they are finished i will get in some more exercise.
Maybe i will get a short bike ride in this evening... depends... when hubby is away on an overnight its hard to get anything in after the kids are home...
I will check back later dearies....

Sandy :flow1:

We have been busy this afternoon!

Ritu: YOU GET 2: :bravo: :bravo: and you are doing a fabulous job! I am so proud of you!

Amanda: YOU GET A: :bravo: for points and you too are doing great.

Dh came home and the first thing he said was, "Do you have the sexy undies on?" I said, "No, but is this just as good?" and lifted up my shirt (no bra). Our home is definitely a little tilted for people who are AARP age!

I know you are so excited Missy to be going to Ireland. How are things coming along with #1 btw? #2 is just gonna have to cry in his beer and too bad.

Tomorrow is errand running day so I will busy a lot of the day. I will get first post in and then may not get your smileys out until afternoon.

Faye :dizzy:

Ok i'm writing now to crow a little about a tiny hurdle I'm in the process of overcoming...came home from the gym and had a healthful veggie burger and some WOW chips and then a skinny cow for dessert....I'm still under calories for the day but right now I'm in the process of trying not to eat fudge. My stomach actually hurts a little, so I know I'm not hungry, I just know I want that taste in my mouth. GRRRR...BUT, I am overcoming it. ANd if I do decide to have some fudge, I'll STILL be OP...but I AM GONNA BE GOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sandy - no prob ;)

Faye - The way it stands right now is that #1 and I are "seeing other people" and #2 and I are "broken up". So we'll see how this all goes. #1 and I are just taking our time and building things between us slowly...no rushing this time. I still feel really bad for hurting him the way that I did, but I can 't rush back into a relationship and I also can't be with someone out of p ity, I have to do what makes ME happy...and do the best I can to make others happy as well. :)

Hello everyone,

I got all my points yesterday and I feel great! Missy--I'm glad to hear about your trip. My dd who is fifteen has always wanted to see Ireland. Tell us all about it when you get back. Faye--Woww! just keep on movin!

Everyone have a nice day

Debbie-Lee

Mirabelly 09-11-2003 07:57 AM

Morning Ladies!
Points for yesterday....still holdin' strong at "4"!! I'm sorta looking forward to weighing tomorrow, but also sorta scared. I've been sooooo good all week, kept my carbs low, counted my calories, exercised...so what if I STILL didn't lose anything??? Oh well, can't live in fear!

Ritu--I'm doing much better with the journal, thanks. I hope you have a wonderful pilgrimage. I'm sure the meaningfulness (meaningfullness? Is that a WORD???) will help make up for the discomfort of walking all that way. Maybe you can use this as an inspiration to keep walking long distances after you get back.

Missy--I'm soooo jealous of you going to Ireland. My dh and I went to England last year and we had such a great time! We didn't have anything planned either. Just rented a car and drove all over the place, visiting anything that struck our fancy. I really think you'll enjoy yourself more that way than if you over-schedule and try to do too much. Just a note about B&B vouchers......UK B&B's are NOT like American B&Bs!!! Some of them are similar, basically a fance Inn. But most are actually just some bloke's apartment with an extra room. We stayed at all these "picturesque" places in the South, then when we got closer to London, we ended up staying in some old lady's condo. Her granddaughter had gone to college, and she was renting out the extra room! It was kinda like visiting a distant relative that you'd never seen....weird! However, the lady was sooo nice and funny! We just decided to enjoy the novelty of the whole thing. We weren't sure about the whole "Voucher" thing....it sounded dicey, just hand the hotel a coupon and your stay is paid for. But it really is the way they do things over there, and we never had a problem at any of the B&Bs we stayed at. I hope you have a FABULOUS time! I can't wait for the day we can go back across the pond!

Faye--YOU CRACK ME UP!!!!!!! Reading about Jack and your underwear makes me laugh every time! Keep up the good work Babe!

Well, I'm teaching my first ever private dance class today....so I kinda feel obligated to do my housework early. Everyone stay strong and motivated! I'll check back later,

Julie

mugirl213 09-11-2003 09:21 AM

Debbie Lee - Oh I'm sure you'll hear all the details about this trip. My "goal" is to make a little website with a day-by-day account of what we did with pictures, but who knows! Right now I am envisioning our trip to be a little like "National Lampoon's European Vacation." LOL, let's hope it's NOT like that.

Julie - Hmmm ok. I was worred about the B&B vouchers. But now I must admit that I am a bit worried about the B&B's themselves. Though I do know that all our rooms have private bathrooms, so that is my main concern. LOL I'm all for new experiences, but sharing bathroom time with the house owners...ummm...NO! :) Did you and your dh make your reservations before you went? Or as you went? That is something I'm kinda struggling with right now and not sure how to handle it. But I'm glad to hear that it's not AS scary as I'd imagined! :)

Faye - All four for yesterday....even with some fudge. LOL

gma22 09-11-2003 09:29 AM

I'm sitting here with bleach in my hair (can't go and get my hair cut today with gray roots!) so I have a couple minutes to post smileys before getting downstairs and getting on the glider and washing this junk out.

WOOHOO, YOU ARE REALLY ON THE SKINNY TRAIN! GO GIRLS GO!

JOY, DEBBIEL, MISSY AND JULIE: you all get: :bravo: :bravo: :bravo: :bravo: FOR EACH OF YOU!

Missy: I found these great slimfast snack bars that are like candy bars and they are yummy. Maybe I told you before, I can never remember whom I told what. If you haven't tried them, you should. They really satisfy the sweet tooth.

Julie: You would be horrified if you were Samantha and could sit in my house and watch the two of us! We are just a nutty old couple that are still horny 31 years later! AND YOU KNOW WHAT? I wouldn't change it for anything. 90% of the country would kill for what I have.

Well, I gotta run or my hair will fall out and I won't NEED a haircut.

Later
Faye:)
