Sandy: YOU GET A: :bravo: for points!

Julie: YOU GET A: :bravo: for points! I have had the same thing happen with my husband. When I married him he was SKINNY and I mean SKINNY, 6'2" and 165 lbs. Once he got into his 40's he gained some but stayed at 175 because the Navy required it. He now weighs about 240 and it is ALL in his midsection, which you know is the WORST! He actually took a slimfast drink and snack bar for lunch today !

Well, I am going to walk today and have a route "mapped" out so I need to get dressed and get going as it decided to get hot here again.

Faye:)

Hello Everyone,

have to run so just a note. Joy--thankGod your o.k.! I had a car burn up to. Must be more common than I thought. Scred me half to death.

I had a small accomplishment. I had to tighten up the straps on my bra by about 2 inches. It may not me much but I'm happy. I've got TOM to.

Hope everyone has a nice day

Debbie-Lee

gma22 09-12-2003 10:45 AM

Pam: YOU GET A: :bravo: for points

DebbieL: Way to go girl. Progess is progress in whatever form it takes!

Am I an idiot or what for eating that pie? It wasn't the cheesecake it was the strawberries believe it or not. Not that I didn't eat the cheesecake part too! It was the only thing that put me over on fat cal. Valuable lesson learned, hide the dessert chart under the table when you sit down!

I did a 3 mile walk this AM and heard on the radio while I was walking that John Ritter died on the set of his tv show from a aortic tear last night and Johnny Cash died this morning from diabetic complications. I knew Cash was sick but the John Ritter thing knocked me for a loop. I guess it was a prior thing that he knew nothing about. JR was only 54 UGH! scary!

You girls have a great day!

Faye:)

mugirl213 09-12-2003 01:02 PM

That was really sad about John Ritter! I couldn't believe it.

Well I get 2 points for yesterday. I cannot tell a lie (though I sure thought about it)...but I had a Skinny Cow AND M&Ms and I was over probably by about 100 calories, but over nonetheless. I will have to play make up on the weekend too Faye. It's so annoying isn't it?

I'm down to 148 again, so I lost 2lbs. that were hanging on from vacation.

It's so frustrating to have been here for like 2 months now and have lost 4 lbs. That's pathetic. LOL But I am noticing that my 11/12 pants I have on today are LOOSE! HURRAY! That is certainly a good feeling. My size 13 pants...they were practically falling off. :) So I'm down 4 lbs. since I started...that leaves me with 18 to go.

Gotta keep on keeping on!

Hope everyone is doing well...especially Joy.

Faye don't beat yourself up too much, this was your first slip in like forever! :) You are human after all. :) hehehe

Lee7861 09-12-2003 01:29 PM

Hi Everyone,

Just had a minute and popped in because its better than eating something. (what I'm in the habit of doing when I can't think of anything else)

Glad everyone is doing well and thanks for telling me about Ritter and Cash. I heard someone say that the bad thing is that when one of the old ones like Hepburn or Cash dies the thing that replaces them is Madonna or Chris Rock. The world is just a little duller

Debbie-Lee

mugirl213 09-12-2003 02:00 PM

Debbie-Lee - I have to disagree with you on Madonna AND Chris Rock. Katherine Hepburn was quite a talent, and Cash I suppose too. But consider the fact that Cash's later career was spent doing covers of songs by U2 and even Nine Inch Nails. That to me doesn't seem too inspired. But perhaps it's my age showing thru. Chris Rock isn't hysterical but he's definitely pretty funny...and Madonna has been reinventing herself since the 80's. Granted she's not a "classic"...but she's a "classic of today! :)

ritu 09-12-2003 02:51 PM

Hello,
I'm so out of sync. - we've had major power cuts last two days, so the computer wasn't working.

First for my points- I got 4 today, but only 3 yesterday. I couldn't excercise.

Joy, what an awful experience. But look at the bright side, if something bad had to happen, it's happened and over with. It could have been worse, one of you could have been hurt. In fact you were very lucky that man saw you and stopped to help.

Yesterday was pretty horrible for me as well . My son was sleeping and suddenly fresh blood started coming out of his ear - it was so frightening. We went to see the ENT in the evening but he couldn't see any apparent reason for the bleeding. He's called us back on Tuesday for a check up. I'm desperately worried.

Anyway we still leave tommorrow evening for the hills. I'll post again before we leave.

Goodnight

Ritu

Missy: I am not beating myself up, as I don't do that, but I do know it was stupid of me! I should have just ordered a bowl of fruit! YOU GET A: :high: for points. We'll play catch up tomorrow. As for actual lbs lost, I told you at the beginning the lbs were going to be hard to come off because you didn't have a lot to lose, but honey, the inches are coming off so quit stressing about the scale numbers. You are getting skinnier! Me too, I measure myself once a month on the 9th of every month as the ninth I had a whopping 4 and 6 inch loss on my thighs, 2 inches on my waist and a puny one inch on my stubborn behind but a BIG part of the behind thing is hanging skin and when you measure, that still comes into play so what can you do? I am just thrilled that when I went into Walmart's last night I actually was able to get an 18/20 sweater on, zip it up and it look ok! I am still in that "baggy is best" mentality and that is stupid. One thing and you guys are gonna laugh at this one, since I have been able to go to underwire bras and have lost weight, at least in a bra, I have much perkier bosoms and I keep noticing men getting an eyeful of my boobs! I guess my overall body size still big as it is, does not attract the attention first. I am never going to be a boob shrinking violet, so I just have to love em I guess and enjoy the notoriety they bring me! :o

Ritu: YOU GET A: :bravo: :cp: for your points for two days. As for your son, don't freak out too much about the ear bleeding if the dr didn't find anything, if he isn't bleeding from the nose or mouth and his temp is not spiking. He may have some kind of ear infection the guy hasn't caught yet. Did the bleeding stop on it's own? Did ds have a bad headache when he was bleeding or before? I am sure he is going to be just fine. Kids have all kinds of weird things happen to them! Hope he feels better soon and your fears are allayed!

My big thing with celebrities dying is how OLD that means I am. I mean almost 100% of people I grew up watching have CROAKED, all the rat pack except for maybe Joey Bishop, Bob Hope, Jimmy Stewart, Jackie Gleason, Ed Sullivan, Rock Hudson, Liberace (those two of course are different circumstances than age as is sullivan I believe and Gleason too) and the list goes on and on. I am not a fan of Madonna and hate the new stuff because it is so SEXUALLY VILE but last Saturday I was walking in the mall and had a radio station on and they played Dance With my Father by Luther Vandross and I am walking and balling. What a song that is! I hear singing groups from my era and they sound horrible because age has mucked up their voices. Gary Lewis played on his dad's telethon and when he was popular had 13! #1 HITS AND HE SOUNDED GROSS! Chicago who are wonderful is the same deal. They can't sing anymore. Few of the over 50 crowd still have voices, Yummy SINGLE, Neil Diamond, Rod Stewart, I haven't heard Bowie or the Stones since I don't like them, Cher still has her voice. Anyway, it makes AARP more real every time one of them dies and for gosh sakes, John though he had a heart DEFECT is only 5 years older than I! :fr: :fr:

I got invited to lunch with dd and the stinker and I wore this green scarf tied at my neck and when I got in the car, "Nonny, why do you have a rag on your neck?" Cracked me up! I have wanted my son, Jay to get married for so long, but NOW it is even better because dd is paying attention to me and being NICE and that is great. A little competition can be a GOOD thing!

Gotta go. Sorry for blabbing so much.

**For those of you in the +sizes, check out www.justmysize.com. They have some great stuff and a lot of it is fairly inexpensive. I just bought TWO satin gowns for our trip (RED and PURPLE) for $25! I had bought this ugly lace thing last night for the trip and paid $33 on SALE! It goes right back to the store today! YES, THEY ARE FOR JACK'S BENEFIT FOR THOSE INQUIRING MINDS!!!!!!!:o ;)

PS: If any of you feel you have the time, and could do it, please let me know if you would be willing to post the topic and give out smileys while I am gone. Otherwise, you will just have to encourage each other til I get back!
Faye:)

Amanda Panda 09-12-2003 04:19 PM

Hello there!

I got 1 point yesterday - sorry to say that I went completely off programme and had pizza and garlic bread! It's my TOM and I was feeling really low and overwhelmed all day - crying loads (hormones!). So needless to say, all my resolve went out the window and I just didn't care about my diet. I feel better today and am back on programme - I'm not beating myself up about it as it was my choice at the time and it's not the end of the world - I'm back on track now and will have a make up day on Sunday.

Joy - I am glad you are okay after your car fire. It sounded very scary and I'm glad you are all safe and well.

Congratulations to everyone who has lost weight this week:bravo: It's my weigh day tomorrow but I'm not expecting to lose anything due to my TOM and the pizza!

Missy - You are welcome! I will get back to you soon about Ireland - feeling a bit tired tonight.

Everyone have a great weekend!

Amanda xx

Amanda Panda 09-12-2003 04:40 PM

I forgot to tell you that I had my hair cut today - it's short and spikey (sort of) and I've had my fringe cut short. I really like it! Normally my hair is quite long at the front, but now it is short you can see my eyes and Nigel says I look cute! I don't know why people say that if you are fat you shouldn't have short hair - mine definately looks better and lifts my face.

Anyway. thought I'd share that with you!

Amanda xx

gma22 09-12-2003 08:55 PM

Amanda: Several of us seemed to have had a tiny break down yesterday except of course SUPER WOMAN PAM! So don't let it bother you. Make up your challenge weekday on one of the weekend days either this weekend or next. That is what most of us are doing. YOU GET A :flow2: for points! Oh and by the way, MY hair is only about an inch or so long and very very cute. I get tons of compliments about it so my opinion is short hair definitely looks good on heavier women! As the appt booker at my salon says, "Girl, that hair gives you attitude!"

Well my son and his girlfriend are OFFICIAL! He called me a little while ago and told me he proposed and gave her the ring tonight and that I am off the hook and can tell everyone. LITTLE DOES HE KNOW.....

Well, girlies I am going to go for the night!

talk to you in the morning!

Faye:)

pjkdreamer 09-13-2003 07:01 AM

Morning,

This is "Super Woman Pam" reporting in:lol:

pts for yesterday: 1 pt for water, 1 pt for exercise, and 2 pts for program.....*by the skin of my teeth! I think I was having an "OUT OF BODY EXPERIENCE YESTERDAY", I must have been. We threw a surprise birthday party for one of our co-workers, there was cake, and chips, and dips, and cokes and HOMEMADE BUTTERFINGER ICE CREAM   of which I had NONE. There was a cheese ball and wheat crackers, I did have 1/2 tsp cheese ball and 2 wheat crackers. but no ice cream, and because I was at work there was NO WHERE TO GO TO ESCAPE IT!!! LOOOOOONG 8 HRS LET ME TELL YOU. But, gratefully I made it.

well gotta rin, got off at 9p last night and back at 6:30am, I am very weary.....:faint:

later;)

gma22 09-13-2003 07:14 AM

SATURDAY: Today is Sunny Thoughts Saturday! Share with us anything happy!

Pam: YOU GET A: :bravo: for points!

I GOT A: :bravo: for points.

Hope everyone has a great day. I will get in to post points asap but you know today is the big ice show day so don't know how much time I will have. I will be sure and tell Sully and Mike hi from all you guys! I don't know, a huge hairy blue monster and a big green eyeball skating around......

Faye:)
