Me and my niece are sharing a room, but heah the more the merier. Maybe we can get discount rates for a group! The beds are small so we 'll have to line up sideways hee hee hee and hope no one rolls over or fall out
I agree we should never forget 9/11 and there should be services held, sounds like you have a large church family. We have about 100 but are very very close. Which is nice. Glad all continues to go well with dn
Sunny-d Glad to hear your son is bettter, to bad the bill was so high. Glad also the tupperware party and tea went well I have to agree tupperware costs so much, that I usually use the ziplock containers.
Mrs. Hummer Thanks for the support and your right He will have me were I need to be, and I do like my job, so whatever happens I am o.k. with that. Sorry you didn't get to go camping love it, so relaxing. It is so convenient having it on site, so just pop in the car and go. You need to get that other tooth taken care of. Glad you have some time for you, that is always important. I am also interested in south beach diet. I am starting tom. so hope that it works well, adkins was just two strict with the meat at least this one allows veggies and some fruit and dairy. So hopefully that goes well.

• Monday morning

Good Morning CEers!!!!

Today I am starting a new way of eating. I'm not following any one diet but going to try to follow some simple rules. I may eventually go on the South Beach but don't have the groceries to do so now.
1. Drink 8+glasses of water/day
2. Limit carbs, especially starches
3. Limit fats
4. Eat lots of fresh veggies, esp green
5. Eat simple food, no casseroles, mixes, processed foods.
6. Grill my meats and veggies
7. Eat just a healthy snack after 6 pm (I'm diabetic and have to)
8. Eat 6 SMALL meals throughout the day.

Well, wish me luck. I'm going to give it my best shot. I'm hoping my dh will do it with me but I don't know. I know he will be getting healthier foods cause I will be preparing them but will he limit his servings? He needs to lose as much as I do. With GOD I can do ALL THINGS!!!

Gotta go. Hope EVERYONE has a GREAT day!!!!
• Sherry~you're plan sounds like a good one and i do wish you luck although you won't need it because you are right, you can do all things with Christ!

I am starting a new week today too and trying to get back on induction. I have some incentive because with the weather changing i'm changing out my clothes and i have a lot of pants i want to be able to fit into. That's my incentive for now.

I was woke up at 4 a.m. w/Simba barking/growling. After awhile i knew someone was out there. There was a truck that broke down in front of my house on Sat. i think, and they came to get it at that awful hour! Maybe it just sounded like they were extremely loud! But then I had a hard time going back to bed, almost got up at one point but knew i'd be a mess if i did around 4 pm.

Alpha was really wonderful last night! We had a great turnout, i heard we had over 40 people for dinner and the music was great and the fellowship. I sat next to our priest for the talk and he was fun. There's 2 eligible single guys that i'll have to check out, one i've seen before and he's now our drummer, very shy but maybe he'll be here now for the whole evening and I can get to know him. We also had 2 testimonies and the one guy was in my group last time and he had very nice and touching things to say. He said that he was sure I didn't know how I impacted his life but I had given all of them a coin w/scripture on it on our last night and he's hung onto that and it meant a lot to him. What's funny is i got them because i liked them and could afford it (they were cheap) but the Holy Spirit made it worth a lot to him.

Have a wonderful Monday!
• Good Monday Morning!
Hi everybody!

Sorry I never came back over the weekend, Joe & I just have so much we do with friends and such... although, yesterday we came home from church at around 12:30 and just chilled out working in the gardens and reading the paper. It was such a nice Fall-like day!

Saturday we had the best time at the flea market! I found a late 1940's WESTINGHOUSE butter dish made by Hall... they were part of the promo's to sell Westinghouse ref. in that period. I like to bring home one or two pieces, but don't really go looking for a particular thing. I saw this and knew I wanted it! We just got a new ref. in June and this piece just seem to fit. It holds a 1# block of butter, but I am using it to hold our lite-cream cheese instead We had the best time and bumped into so many family and friends while there. That's the best part! All the socializing you do with friends, family and the people you don't know but chat with... fun! I love the idea of using things that others have used years ago --- well, especially kitchen items! Gravy boats, creamers, dishes, etc. I'll post a pic of it later.

GARY ~ Joe & I go to Antique shops and alike too!! Always have... when we go to Maine to visit my folks we always stop at the small shops on 'side raods' off the main roads on the way there. We rarely take the freeways or highways on our trips there. Some shops even remember us when we come by each year! And when we miss a year (like this year) they remember!! So cool! When I do get anything from these shops or fairs I always try to get pieces I would use. I also have quite a teacup and teapot collection and have used them at "Tea's" I have put on here for the ladies of the family just to get together during the winter months. We don't see one another as much during the winter, so it's nice getting together. A Christmas Tea is so much fun and colorful! Joe & I also enjoy looking through old photo's when we go to the shops --- don't usually purchase any, just look.

As far as Winter... ... as we get older we dread it all the more! Our winters have been so rough here. We live in the snow-belt!! All we can do is take it a day at a time. My concerns are more for Joe!! He does so much driving and see's such horrifying accidents more & more each year. So many people work from their cars. He is in a large van, so he can see 'into' some of the cars and can see their computers set up in the passenger seat like a small desk area. And they will be working while driving... so many unnecessary accidents! He saw one that was so bad he had nightmares for weeks afterwards... Anyway, we love it here with the exception of wintertime.

Gary... I take it your DD made it to Magic Mountain okay & got themselves a room for the night?! I have been to Magic Mountain in Ca... had a blast, but it was years ago! I went with the H.S. band. I am a born in Ca. girl --- Twentynine Palms, Ca. So I have been to Disney in Ca. and to Magic Mtn. ~ all when I was in my H.S. years.

ANGEL ~ My prayers for your manager's loss... I am so very sorry! God be with you all! And give YOU the strength you need to be there for them.

Thinking of you! (((Hugs)))

MICHELE ~ Joe & I had a best time at the flea market as I told Gary. And had the blast with our friends. Thanks so much for asking We went to see Johnny Depp in "Pirates of the Caribbean" --- great movie (!) but then I am a Depp fan... and then went to 'Bennegan's' for a great steak dinner. After dinner went for a long walk together to try to walk off some of our big meal. We always have a great time together! We have known one another over 23 years. We meet each month on the second Sat. and go to a different rest. each time and rotate who gets to pick the place... so much fun!

How's that bee sting??? You feeling better? Those really hurt!

HI JAMIE! So good to see you posting again!

YES! YES! YES! I must agree with you!! I feel that the devil does do everything in his power to keep you from your goals! Why not! He doesn't want you to be the best you can be for the Lord (your body, mind & soul is your temple of the Lord!)... so he throws out a leg once in awhile to trip us up with our weaknesses. But there's nothing stopping us from getting up from that fall and dusting ourselves off and letting that demon know he's not going to get the best of us! It is a big struggle, but it can be done. And it's daily, not just once in awhile --- daily! I hope you feel better real soon, Jamie. I have been there and have done that --- more times then I can count. And my hubby tells me, Satan doesn't not want you to be the best you can be because you shine brightly for the Lord. So he does everything in his power to try and put out that light... so we have to just keep re-lighting our candles every time he snuffs it out on us. That's why this thread is so important! And fellowship is so important! We must be there for one another... especially during our "down times" because what the devil wants more then anything is for us to isolate ourselves... then he gains strength & power over us!! You get more blue and don't want to do anything - and he is jumping for joy! So the next time you or anyone else feels this way we MUST come together and pick ourselves up again --- laughing in satan's face! My prayers Jamie!! My prayers! And come to us again, don't let him win! (((Hugs)))

And I thank-you for the great info on "Curves"... I am so looking forward to joining tomorrow morning @ 9:30! I already have my check made out!
• continued...
SPROUT ~ I am looking forward to our chats on the DR. PHIL thread... I got his book Saturday and so far have really liked the way it is written! The show Friday evening was more of a 'tease' show then anything else... most of the things he said he had said in last years weight shows. But I liked hearing them again and am so looking forward to his new shows beginning today. I have always been a 'tell it like it is' person and love to hear him speak. I so need to hear what he says to be reassured and encouraged past my fears! I have such a fear of being 'me' with others and am slowly working through it (doing so much better, but still have a ways to go). Most everytime I open myself up to someone, I think of the risk I am taking in being open to more hurt... but that comes with the territory and I have to move on an not be afraid. That is my issue! The Fear of being deeply hurt! I can handle most everyday stuff - it's the heavy stuff and the lack of acceptance for being me that I find scary. When I got jobs - I worked hard to be the best I could be for my bosses and got it from the co-workers that I was being a "kiss-up" (so they put it). But I was always taught to give it my all when I worked (Military family-ya know)... then it flipped around and I was being used. So now I haven't worked in over 9 years. Sorry... I just realized how I went off. Well, that's what I am working on. Just being accepted - not by others so much (because not everyone is gonna like me) but... I want to like 'Me' and see me the way my friends see me, the way you all see me. The way that GOD see's me!

AMANDA ~ Thanks so much for the best wishes for my kid (kitty cat) - GUIDO... he is doing allot better! Yes, they are costly, but you are right - I would spend whatever I needed to keep them well. We found out that he ate soap from the Brillo pad out of the kitchen sink drainer!!! That's what made him so ill. I said he eats everything! He saw it draining from the drainer I keep it in and was playing in the sink... he may have gotten it on his paws or actually licked it up --- don't know, but now it's put away. These guys are lots of work, but so much fun!! I think I will keep them

So great to see you posting again Amanda... I miss seeing you and begin to worry. Stay in touch, okay. Don't let the devil drive you away from your support.

SAMI ~ You and your friends are in my continued prayers... I am sorry if I said something to hurt your feelings about the boys mom. Didn't mean it that way, just feel so badly for our children today and the way they suffer so thinking there's no place to go or no person to go to. Another attack of isolation by satan... what lies he whispers in our ears in our weakness!

I am thinking of you and your DD--- hope the sewing comes along okay on her dress. It will all work out okay, but it's hard to see that in the midst of it all. Soon... .... will be her Wedding day and a sigh of relief for you. Prayers that everything comes together for you all. Stay well!

WILMA ~ Tomorrow!!! I have my "Curves" appointment @ 9:30! Can't wait to go!

SUE ~ LUCK! LUCK! LUCK! On yur new endeavor! I am thinking of you! I think you will like the SBD...

And a very Good Morning to Sherry, Judy, Connie too!
God's Blessings!
• SHERRY ~ You posted while I was writing to everyone. I like what you have as a schedule --- looks really good and healthy. I wish you all the very best... May our Lord be with you! Each time satan whispers in your ear something you don't want to hear, just go to the bible and read. It really does help. Or just close your eyes and bind satan in prayer to Jesus - it works wonders. It's what I am doing now everytime I feel threatened or tempted to go off my program.

YES! With God we can do all things!
Have a wonderfully successful day today!
One moment at a time...
• MICHELE ~ Looks like we posted together too. My thoughts & prayers are with you on your new beginning.

I am so happy for you that Alpha turned out so well and that you enjoyed the fellowship... you just never know what God has in store for you.

And isn't that wonderful how the Lord works through us even when we do not realize it. You plant the seed, but it is so great when you are able to see the beginnings of growth. That has happened to me with the cards I have sent. I am so very happy for you. It is always nice to hear when we have done something to bring someone closer to our Lord!

Well done, Michele...
God's Blessings (((Hugs)))
• Good morning everyone,

I had a very busy weekend. The dance company made $400 dollars selling drinks and bake goods. The money will be split between the parents that worked the booth. It was so hot some of the bake goods were melting. The performace company spent the whole weekend learning new material. They desided to go to Atlanta, Myrtle Beach and Orlando this year for the finals. Laura (our daughter)has bruses all over her body. I told her if her teachers ask about them to please..... tell them the truth and not kid around. They slame their knees down on the wooden foors when they do hip hop.

My husband and matt (our son) went out shooting coconuts and targets. There favorite target is shaving cream cans and frozen fruit. My son is working toward his eage badge in boy scouts. He is dieing to get his rife badge. One of Pauls friends from work is a marksman from the marines. He has been helping the

I am starting the South Beach diet today. I got the book yesterday. I needn't get to see Dr. Phil on friday. When is his show on in the east coast and what chanel? I plan on reading one of his keys a month, and working on each Behavior change.

• Hi JUDY~

Soo good to hear that all went well for the bake sale... sorry to hear that your daughter got all brused up, hope she gets well soon.

As far as DR PHIL... there's a thread titled "Dr Phil's Weight Loss Challenge #2" Come join in! We are going to talk about his book (which I am just beginning to read) a little bit at a time and watch his shows.

On the East Coast he's on NBC @ 5:00pm.

I have been on the South Beach Program since July 1st, 2003 and am losing wt. slowly, but that is okay with me! I don't mind because I am still losing and not gaining and even have a slice of whole grained bread sometimes as a half of sandwich with gourmet cukes and a piece of fruit. Or a 1/2 baked sweet potato with dinner. I am staying in phase II till I get the wt. off I need off... besides it really agrees with me & my gut. I even had pasta yesterday with my hubby, but it is whole grained pasta! And only 1 cup of it. I think you will like it after you get past that first two weeks! Phase I is rather difficult, but I just kept telling myself, "it's only two weeks"... and I drink my 8 glasses or so of water after lunch till about 7 or 8 at night cuz water in the morning made my tummy ache. But water will really help you get through the first two weeks and get you in the habit for the next phase... There's a allot of good recipes in the book and I really like the ricotta desserts! I must have 8 different flavorings for making it

I wish you the best Judy!

PS>> I also take one Citrucel tablet with dinner...
• HI I'm going to see if I can do the color.

[ color blue] ~ SunnyD ~ I'm getting braver in my computer skills!I collect victorian valentines. My favorite are the pop up ones with all the lace. I love royal copenhagen glass and wedgewood too. Its fun collecting. Have you ever gone to a fancy auction? when I went to college there was an auction house across the street. We would go and watch. I was so scared I'd buy something if I scratched my ear. Those things worn't cheap. We were poor artists just having fun.

~Sami~ What colors are in the wedding party? Your daughters wedding is Sept. 20 right? I can't wait to hear how beautiful it went. Are they going on a honeymoon?

~Angel~ I have been praying for your son- n law in Iraq and family. How is he doing? I get so mad when I hear celebrities bashing the president or the war. We need to support our men/weman in the war. They can do all the bashing they want after the war. Freedom is not free ,our men/weman put there lives on the line for us. We need to respect them, pray for them, and supply whatever they need.

God bless all of you

" old age isn't so bad when you consider the alternative"
• Hi Judy--- you just were off on the first part of the color code

good effort! Keep trying... gotta make sure it's all there or it won't work with "no spaces" in between...

Example: Hi! --- see no space between the bracket and the word Hi and it's the same way at the end of your sentence too.
• Judy
Or... when you click on "Post Reply" (located at the very top or the very bottom right of the thread) you will see COLOR next to SIZE & FONT. When you click on it you will get the whole list of colors... click on a color then a box will appear at the top left. Write in a name or the beginning of a sentence and then click okay. It will then appear in your reply box. Then just go inside the color boxes and finish your letter.

I Hope I have helped... it can be confusing.
Good for you in trying!! Keep playing!
• Judy
Oh yes! I have gone to those and it is scary! I too felt the same way... didn't want to move for fear I may have bought something I didn't want or couldn't afford.
