Default Pinching ear to control appetite?

I have been reading books to find any new advice for losing weight and also for keeping it off forever. One new thing that I read was that pinching that part of the ear between your head and your ear canal can help as an appetite suppressant. It seems very odd to me. Has anyone else ever heard of this, or tried it? If so, did it help at all?

I once saw a documentary about weight loss and this guy got this small bead placed in his ear and when he had a craving he was supposed to press it (presumably in hurt) this would express negative pain with fatty foods.

My friend went somewhere, years ago, and had some kind of thing put on her ear for weight loss. Didn't do anything for her. Seems like it was some kind of band that pinched it. Don't remember exactly.
