Slashnl, good job on not snacking at night! I am sending you good vibes for tonight! :goodvibes:

Rana, sorry you had trouble with your freezer. I know that's a hassle. I hope it's working now!

My morning was not typical today and I am dragging. My DH and I had somewhere to be at 8:30 this morning so that threw me off. I normally don't eat breakfast till 10 am but that was not going to be possible. I was mentally prepared to eat early, only I forgot to get to the store for eggs and didn't have time to go when I remembered this morning! So I had an extremely light breakfast of yogurt, and we were off! Er...without my vitamins, oops! So no eggs, no vitamins. We ate out for lunch and I did eat a big lunch, but because I didn't take my vitamins (which I'm supposed to take with a meal--yep, missed taking them with lunch too), now that we are home, I just want to sleep! I feel like I can't wake up! I think I am going to have some more yogurt and go ahead and take the vitamins, even though it's close to 2:30. I'll need some energy if I'm going to exercise today! Which brings me to my commitment level, I am about a 6/10 right now in wanting to exercise!

EDITED TO ADD: Ate the yogurt, took the vitamins, took a nap  and now I'm ready for the Y tonight! :exercise:

Jacqui_D 06-19-2015 12:09 PM

I am feeling a 10/10 on the eating, and only an 7/10 on the exercise right now. I am hoping as the day goes on, my resolve to exercise strengthens!

Slashnl 06-19-2015 12:14 PM

Rana: So impressed with all of your cooking! How nice that will be to have that all ready!

Jacqui: Good luck with the exercise!!! I like the way you had two levels of commitment. I'm stealing that idea.

Well, I didn't do well last night with the snacking issue. I need to do better tonight and into the weekend. I went to spin class this morning, and I'm looking forward to running after work, so 10/10 on commitment to exercise.

Honestly.... probably about 6/10 on eating. I have to really watch myself today...

6/10. A friend of mine threw a party and I knew it was going to be hard. So I woke up early and ate a light breakfast, went for a long walk with the walking poles, and tried to eat the healthy food and not the snacks. But eventually I gave into temptation and had a beer... and later another. And then some potato chips when a bit tipsy - luckily not that many. But what was the real crux was the chocolate chip cookies! First I thought I could have one... or two... ended up eating 6 in the end. :( How do the "normal" people manage chocolate?!!

Well, I walked most of the way home as it was sunny, and while I felt dissapointed with myself, I was also relieved, as it could have been much worse. I could have drank 12 instead of 2 beers, stuffed my face with chips and bought chocolate on my way home, thinking "what the ****, I ruined the day already." But I'm not going there. At home I counted my calories - so MUCH in what I had! - and figured that I can still keep a small calorie defict for this day, although not as big as I would hope, but at least I won't go over my consumption. I feel relieved.

Pigeon, most likely you will weigh more tomorrow because the body converts carbs (beer, potato chips, cookies) into glycogen and stores water to help it burn that glycogen. If you get right back on plan and eat well according to your plan, you will lose that water weight in a day or two, I know because that's how my diet plan is set up! I have a quick-burning carb day every single week, and within just a few days, my weight is always back to where it was before and I continue losing. The fact that you didn't completely binge is fantastic! All you have to do now is get back on plan, make healthy food choices, and you'll be fine!

It's Carb Day for me today, so no problem there, but exercise may be a problem. The Y has limited hours on Saturdays, and Saturdays are always my busiest day when I really need it to be open longer so I can get there. Last Saturday I had to go out to the walk park because I missed the Y hours, but today it's pouring down rain. Plus, my back hurts, so it's not looking good!

Happy Carb Day Jacqui:hat: I have the same issue with gyms--always seme to have limited hours just on the days I need to go later.

10/10 today. Yesterday evening was my Carb Day and I'm glad to be back to routine. Not sure where I am with exercise.

I haven't been on in a few days. My new job sucks the energy right out of me. Luckily it's a retail job full of walking and stocking. My legs have been so sore from the endless number of squats I've doing when stocking the bottom shelves. I just wish my feet didn't hurt so much. I have great shoes with great inserts. I just think they're not used to so much continuous standing. Hopefully they'll adjust soon!

I am a 8/10 on food. Oddly enough the 2 points under is not about overeating but rather commitment TO eat. When I'm busy at work I forget about food.

Jacqui D thank you for encouragement! :) It was no catastrophe in the end - especially as I didn't let it become one. I am aiming for a permanent life style change, not a crash diet, so in a way it's good to know that sometimes I might indulge myself, and it will not ruin *everything*. I will probably do it again some day, and it's something I will need to learn to handle calmly. :)

Commitment is top notch today! Beautiful weather, I'm really looking forward for a long walk after the sun goes down a bit. Also enjoying the effects of pole walking for my neck/shoulders. Not feeling any significant cravings so far.

Weekends are so tough! Commitment is weak... but I'm mowing the lawn, push mower, big lawn... so hopefully it will be a good on plan day!

That's great exercise! Do you have some nice music while you're mowing? Stay strong and come back to tell us how it went :carrot:

I'm committing to gym treadmill and sticking to my plan today. Feels pretty easy, but I'll say 8/10. Afternoons are typically lower resolve.

LovelyLeah 06-21-2015 11:05 AM

Today I am a 9/10. I'm going to have to buy a lunch rather than pack one because I forget to pick up a lot of my usual lunch ingredients. But at least I know where and what I'm getting for lunch and it fits my plan.

Scaletosser 06-21-2015 01:43 PM

I love your party story Pigeon! I'm going to be in a similar situation next week although I'll be at my in laws cottage next week for 5 loooong days of trying to stay on plan (being reasonable eaters all at a healthy lifetime weight, they simply never understood my struggle with food). I really appreciate you posting how although you gave in, you just got right back on plan the next day. That's exactly what I'm hoping I'll have the strength to do if I indulge as my past pattern has always been more of the "what the ****, might as well binge for a week" attitude. I'll definitely keep your great attitude in mind!

Scaletosser 06-21-2015 01:44 PM

And today, I'm feeling a pretty strong 9/10:)

LovelyLeah 06-22-2015 10:52 AM

6?/10 I don't know, I'm supposed to go out for dinner with a friend tonight and I don't know where yet. I'm really, REALLY not in the mood for a salad so I'm hoping it's some place I can get grilled chicken or something healthier like that. Also, my best friend's dad is in the hospital for surgery today so I might head over to the hospital to bring my friend's mom some lunch. Chances are she'll have me get some too so we can eat together. So it might be two places out to eat in one day. I am at least committed to healthy options (despite really craving a soda).
