S/C/G: See my siggy ;)

Height: 5'8"

Default

Down 0.6lb to 174.4lbs.

Breakfast was sardines, scrambled eggs, razor clams and smoked mussels.

Lunch was salad with smoked oysters.

For exercise, I did 60 minutes weight training after breakfast, ran 4.5 miles before lunch and am now mowing the lawn.

Tomorrow I will try to run twice. The last time I did this I hurt myself. I have a 5k race in the morning and want to do a hash run in the afternoon.

Quote:
Ian: You are doing so great on your "seafood" diet. but I have to admit I've never seen anything like it. Did you make it up yourself? Or following some plan? My son loves seafood-I'm thinking of showing him what you do. He thinks he needs a lot of food to be able to run & do his martial arts- but you seem very active with not that much calorie wise.
Thanks Fairy. The story behind this is that to lose weight I used to go to the salad bar and eat salad. Someone on here told me that I was not getting enough protein so I started to add things at the salad bar like chicken, shrimp, eggs and tofu. But that was all the salad bar had for protein so I soon got bored. Then I discovered fish. Most of it good for me, high in protein, low in calories, zero carb, rich in minerals and some of it high in good fats like omega 3s. And best of all, tons of variety. So now I use fish for my protein source with salads that I make at home now. And it has been great.

My salads are also very rich. In them I have: greens, kale, olives, feta cheese, avocado, guacamole, trout pate, tomato, onion, figs, dates, almonds, apricots, tart cherries, kim chi and balsamic vinegar.

Diana, I have the pup for a week. Then I am off to Harvard for some training!

Hi Everyone!

I forgot to mention. I slept well last night and didn't have the night sweats. I used the Hyland's Menopause formula like I did last month and it worked.

I don't think the gluten free bread is for me. TMI ALERT! My stomach was bloated all day. It was gurgling, making noise, and I had the dreaded gas. I also felt like I was on the brink of some type of constipation although I had already gone to the bathroom. Not sure what tomorrow will bring. Will everything be back to normal or will I be totally backed up. My body is so weird. I called the store where I bought it and they told me to return it. I had bought 2 loaves. I exchanged it for the one I usually get.

Total Approx 1500 calories +

Breakfast (400 Calories + coffee)
spritz oil in pan
egg 70 cal
egg whites from carton 60 calories

1 teaspoon pumpkin butter 25 calories

Lunch (400 calories)
chicken salad w/lettuce on gluten free bread 350 calories
later iced coffee, my usual way 50 calories

Dinner (700 calories)
Homemade hamburger helper type thingy 400 calories
stewed okra and tomatoes 100 calories
strawberries over pound cake slice 200 calories

Diana, those ingredients are terrible! Haha! Goes to show, just because it says gluten free doesn't mean it's healthy. Three kinds of sugars in there. Making it at home would be best, or forget it all together? Sorry you had the bad experience. I tried to test out GF hamburger buns and the stale texture turned me off before I got a chance to taste it.

W 152.8, back up.
B egg on toast
L 6 pieces of sushi at a restaurant during my work day.
D chicken udon noodle soup.

FairyGaia Congrats on the 4 pounds!

CoolMom I don't know if my thyroid has issues with gluten, but if it does, it will just have to deal with it. I have cut out everything else that can compromise my thyroid. That's all I can do. Do you have to work today? I hope you get a chance to relax and enjoy your Mother's Day.

Ian Good luck with your 5k.

Hi Everyone!

I didn't get a workout for today. We mostly stayed around the house today. I did have to make a quick grocery run. We made salad, filet's, asparagus, baked potatoes, and banana pudding. It was a really good meal.

Novangel & Mossy

CoolMom I've got that work allergy, too. Oops! I just realized what you meant, I was going to ask what's going on with your hand and then I realized. Is it a rash or something? I do have a work allergy! I need to figure out how to retire. My DH's "reaction" is worse than mine. Speaking of reactions, DH is reacting to his antacid meds. He has reacted to all of the proton pump meds with a rash on his hands and face. He just started reacting again today. UGH!

Down 0.2lbs today to 174.2lbs.

For breakfast, I had sardines, scrambled eggs, razor clams and smoked mussels.

For lunch, I had salad and smoked oysters.

For exercise, I busted it.

I did a 5k race and came 3rd (got a medal, pic attached)!

I did 60 minutes weight training before lunch.

And did a 4 mile hash run in the evening.

Awesome.

What you eat makes you (or not) want to exercise.

Default Atkins Induction

After re-reading the 2002 Atkins book I have decided to stop counting calories and only count Carbs, Fats, and Protein. Today is the closest I have came to my daily goals. I have not gone over since starting Atkins but I am usually too far under especially in the fats which along with low carbs and medium protein are the key to this diet.

Total: 11 Carbs, 135 Fat, 110 Protein

Goal: 23 Carbs, 140 Fat, 113 Protein

Nice job, Ian!

Diana, I meant allergic to work the same way you meant. A tiny bit of work wipes me out! My hands have not had an issue for a long time but recently flared up with the achy, painful, swollen feeling in palm and fingers, mostly in my dominant hand. It started with weeding, then some knitting and then working took it to needing some Aleve. That's a bummer about your husband's medication. Sensitive guy! Hehe.

Well, we got a bunch of plants planted, including some ground cover and my tomatoes and herbs in pots, after my busy work day. That and mother's day was a perfect storm for wanting to eat out. I stuffed myself on vietnamese hors d'oeuvers and beef pho and am now drinking a weird long island wannabe Bud Light. Back at it tomorrow!

Hope everybody had a nice Mother's Day. Mine was super!

B: whole wheat bagel, raspberries, Berryblossom White tea
L: Pita chips w/ cream cheese and homemade salsa, marinated artichoke hearts
D: pork chops, big green salad w/bluecheese dressing, red potatoes, more veggies, chocolate chip cookie

Ian Congratulations! Nice picture!

Work allergy? I have some symptoms of that too. Mine is more like work disease. I can't stop working and I don't really want to, but at the same time I kind of want to retire.

Diana That is too bad about your husband's rash.

Coolmom I hope you are able to get some relief for your hands.

Larry good job on getting close to your goal.
