seize the day; I am almost the opposite. Weekends are so filled with stuff to do; I tend to eat in moderation. During the week, when I am home alone all day long, I munch more....

But this week (lol...it is only Tuesday ) is going well. My first week back following 5:2 plan, and today is my first fast day.

Plan for today:

Meals
bfast ~ oj and coffee with cream 100 cal
lunch ~ fast
dinner ~ Chicken/veggie stirfry w/rice 400 cal
Total 500 cal

Exercise
4.8 mile walk

Weight
152.4
down 1.8 pounds :goodscale

VermontMom 04-14-2015 10:51 AM

seize the day - good for you for being back on track on Monday! :carrot:

I completed ONE DAY on program!! that is big for me. Under 1500 calories, all real food, and a sweaty 40 minute workout.

I'm kinda alarmed  at seeing my ticker say "22 pounds to go". I would be thrilled to be 145, maybe I should change it so it doesn't sound like so much.

maddierep 04-14-2015 12:35 PM

Hang in there vermont mom! I got down to 153.2 on Sunday morning. It went up to 155 on Monday! today it's 153.4

so the numbers on the scale made me feel bad. But then i thought - it's not about the number today. it's about making choices that work for me. So as long as you're doing well, don't let the numbers bring you down

Congrats VermontMom!

maddierep: I track my weight Mon-Fri each week and then compare full week weights (ie. overall is my lowest weight lower than my lowest weight from the week before? Is my highest weight lower than my highest weight from the week before? How are my averages for this week compared to last week?) It really helps prevent me from being discouraged based on one weigh-in because I know that my weight fluctuates quite a lot. As long as I am averaging at a lower weight for the whole week, then I am moving in the right direction.

After drinking a ton of water, going on a really long walk, lowering my carb intake, and sticking to less than 1500 cals, I lost the water weight and am down to 150.2 :) I'm feeling good about that! Hoping I can go for another long walk today.

maddierep 04-15-2015 11:25 AM

yay for your progress.

I'm working towards developing eating habits than i can realistically maintain for a lifetime. yesterday instead of getting a burger on the way home (felt too tired to cook) i actually just cooked some calamari in tomato sauce seasoned with red chillies. It hit the spot and was low effort.

Today I put on my grey trousers but muffin top alert (they would look good on me if i lost 5 pounds). Switched to black ones that are more flattering - but now that's my short term goal. To have the grey trousers fit me better.

VermontMom 04-15-2015 11:51 AM

seize the day - CONGRATS on being SO close to 140-land!!!

maddierep - yay for your dinner choice! Short-term goal for grey trousers to fit better is great.

Completed yesterday on-plan also. I ignored the box of doughnuts and bag of chips and bag of chocolate that came into the house...had a big juicy orange last night when I was afraid I was gonna cave.

Did a FitnessBlender.com workout this morning, one of their 1000 calorie horrorshows

I won't post about a successful day until the day after, too afraid to jinx myself!

Sum38 04-15-2015 12:45 PM

Happy Tax Day! Well, we owed money :( On a brighter side, we did not give anyone our money and made no interest :D

My body is tired... I am a tad bit OCD, when I jump on that weight loss/exercise train; I really jump on. I was going to go and lift weight this afternoon, but my 47-year old body is telling me that the 4.8 mile walk we did on beach was enough. -- I try to powerwalk on beach; I am soaked afterwards. My legs scream with pain; boy, it is really hard. I just hope all that beach power walking is melting my body fat  So, I am postponing my weight lifting day to tomorrow, and I am taking a day off from my walking.

I semi successfully fasted. Ended with 750 calories; 250 over the goal; but it was my first day back, so I say it was a great effort, a good start.

My poor doggie (lab mix) was attacked by a tiny, but mean chihuahua. He was snarling, baring teeth and foaming. Jumping on my dog and biting. Usually I would have picked him up, but I was really afraid of getting bit (his teeth looked small but sharp), so I pushed him away with my foot. at that point, I could hear my doggie's jaws chomping; she was upset of being bit on her face. The owner came running and yelled at me for kicking his dog.... I asked... do you prefer a live dog or a dead dog, because your meanie butt was about to be a morning snack for my furbaby. LOL. I love dogs. But I hate when people let their dogs loose who are not 100% under their verbal commands. Come on people; be responsible! I am. I walk my dog every day, nearly 5 miles; clean after her, and she never bothers anyone. She is my responsibility. People....sheesh

So that was my morning excitement...no on wards

Plan for the day

Meals
bfast ~ fruit smoothie with yougurt and protein 250 cal
lunch ~ california wraps 260
dinner ~ meatloaf, mashed potatoes, side salad, veggie 600 cal
snacks ~ cucumber/avocado/tomato/feta salad; apple 260 cal
Total cals 1370

Exercise
4.8 mile walk

Weight 151.8
Down 0.6 :goodscale

Hi Everyone!

Haven't posted in a few days. I've been so exhausted this week - Achy, sweaty one minute, shivering the next. Been powering through and going to work and doing all my normal activities, but I really haven't felt up to working out, which is a shame because the weather is finally getting nice here in MA!

I was up a little yesterday, but back down today. I still just don't seem to be losing steadily. Once I'm feeling better, I really need to go get my blood drawn for my thyroid test. I still look like a heroin addict from the first attempt at bloodwork. Stupid small veins!

Gonna continue to truck on, even though I seem to be stuck right now. I am pretty content with my diet (lots of veggies, lean proteins), and have very few cravings, except for a few peanuts at night! So I guess that's a plus!!!

maddierep 04-16-2015 12:51 PM

hope you feel better soon LLCool76. and your poor dog sum38.

small progress - lost 1.5 pounds in 2 weeks - at 152.8

MauiKai 04-16-2015 02:28 PM

I am sitting at 181.6. I so desperately want to move out of the 180s and in to the 170s.

VermontMom 04-17-2015 07:26 AM

maddierep - YAY for your loss! :cheer2:

sum - your exercise is awesome! and your posted food great. can I ask what a california wrap is, what is in it? and how scary about the mean little dog and its' dopey owner, you were in the right to protect your furbaby.

LLCool76, hope you feel better, and it's great that you are pretty content with your diet and gonna truck on

Hi MauiKai and I like your 'slashed tire' quote :carrot:

Yesterday completed day 4 of being completely on plan, I've been choosing harder workouts daily (from fitnessblender.com) and my food has been on plan, I haven't been able to do 4 days on diet since last year!!

Been 148.6 for the last two days. Really excited to be in the 140's. Hoping I can meet my first mini goal (145) by the end of the month.

Moving into the weekend -- my most challenging part of the week. Hoping I can keep it together a bit better than last week.

Don't have time to directly address each of you (things are crazy with work right now :/) But I hope everyone is doing well and has a great weekend!

Sum38 04-18-2015 03:25 PM

Kinda fell off the wagon for a few days; plus I ate a whole jar of pickles (yeah, dumb, I know), and scale jumped 6 pounds  I am so bloated! My eyes look so small because they are so puffy. I am, I am super sensitive to sodium, and I know better than eat a jar of pickles....ugh. So flushing out this sodium is going to take me a week.

I did not fast on Friday, kinda feasted.... so I decided to fast today. Coffee for bfast, and no lunch. BUT, a gf is coming to the city to spend the night and we are going out to eat and have a few cocktails... I am sure my sodium bloat will stick around after tonight for a few extra days.

I have kept up with my walks and gym tho! Hopefully I'll be back OP by Monday.

Have a nice weekend everyone!!

VermontMom 04-19-2015 06:26 PM

Hey ladies, I fell off the wagon on Friday but got back on the next day. My downfall was FOUR slices of pizza, god it was good :D and 2 granola bars. OK confession time over.

Sum, I hope you get all that sodium outta you!

Seize-the-day, I hope the weekend did not derail you.

Hi to MauiKai and any others :)

Well after a week, and having consumed SO much less that I have been, and working out harder every day...I'm down ONE pound. So this is where I usually give up with all the same complaints we all have..I will try NOT to give in and just keep pluggin along  yeah, at least I didn't gain!
